I really like Bestech's designs.
Really dig the design of the compound grinds on the tanto. Looks wicked. Then again, I am drawn to tantos, wharnies, and the feet of sheep.
I own another crossbar lock knife from Bestech (GiantMouse Ace Nazca) and it is rock solid. You can hear and feel the locking mechanism snap into place. No blade play at all. Very impressive.

Your review was so good I actually went and bought one of these. There was only one retailer that stocked this knife in the UK. I got a small discount and ended up paying £297 for it, equivalent to $375. You guys in the states get things cheap. Love the knife. When you get it in hand it feels awesome. I find the thumb disc difficult to use. What I do is depress the locks and give it the slightest flick and it flips up into locked position instantly. Feels really robust and looks sick.

Poltergeist Werks is one of my favorite designers. Pure tool esthetic. Glad to see another knife out. His customs are amazing as well.
This is a cool design. I love tantos, but this would be cool with different blade options too.

Outstanding design. IMO the only issue is the amount contrast on the blade sections. Too dark in my opinion. I'd prefer one coloration in amedium grey grey and another in bronze. Maybe one with texture contrast like bead blasted and a linear brush. That would set the stage for different colors on the scales. Some might see this as design poaching. People will always look for similarities in designs.

I dig that thing! I usually avoid the very racy, spacey and ultra futuristic looking knives but something tells me I'd really like this one.
Second drop point tanto I’ve seen on your channel recently that I love.
The other was the Kizer Mad Tanto, I think.

That micarta with the Ti bolster is awesome too!
I always seem to have trouble with crossbar locks though. They’re either ridiculously tight and I have to use two fingers and two hands to release it and close it (and end up having to do an open heart double bypass on it), or it’s too loose and doesn’t lock up tight.
The Drop Bear is nice because it’s easily adjustable to anyone’s preference.
The lock on this one looks just right though.

yeah because a drop point tanto is actually super useful while a straigh back can be if done right but you will usually use the ability to do powerful utility cuts in this case its maximized

Ahh you gotta love them guys from Poltergeist they have done some amazing pieces plus I don’t think there’s any other companies hardware that I really do love so much and this one being done by bestech what more could you ask for . The thumb disc on my original/gen-1 Cold Steel recon-1 with the Ultra-lock works extremely well. It's sharply knurled and offers great purchase and traction and is very positive in operation. If done correctly the thumb disc or thumb plates CAN work very well.
My Kershaw/Emerson CQC-7 works quite well too.
The thumb plate on my Cold Steel rajah-3 also works extremely well. Ditto for my 4" talwar as well.
That thing is dope. Definitely want one. Good show bro.

Turning off Caps Lock on a functional keyboard is as simple as pressing the "Caps Lock" key again, but if your Caps Lock key is stuck, you'll need to fix the key. You can also disable Caps Lock entirely if you don't plan on using Caps Lock on your computer.

This as actually about a 4" blade. Even though they have a number of color schemes, apparently, the only blade has the black grind areas. How about doing the Keen?

Damn, I like it. If they can keep the price around $250 or less I'll have to nab one. Been trying to avoid Chinese knives lately. They're starting to get a bit ridiculous with their pricing. You can buy awesome US made knives for the cost of a lot of Chinese OEMs. I just got a new textured Ti TRM Atom, fully USA made for $385. Half of the WE lineup is jumping into that price point now, and don't even get me started on their Damasteel pricing 🤬

Only 1 screw to attach te clip to the knife. Same failure as with the Kendo. After only 2 weaks of only wearing the Kendo, the clip became loose. Therefore I returned the knife for refund and never a Bestech for me. Failure is not an option.
Anybody know what kizer heat treats their 20cv to? Sorry but Jared you were talking about how low the hrc is on bestechs m390
Kizer is like 60 and bestech is mostly 60 and rarely at 61. And the few at 61 barely do any better. Neither of them can spar with reate or Spyderco when cut testing at the same hardness.

There are many knives where it's either difficult or impossible to make the knife ambidextrous by drilling two small holes on the opposite scale. A knife like this one could easily be made ambidextrous. Bestech doesn't even bother to consider drilling the opposite holes. So, I'll look but f*** Bestech.

@@bestechknives I've messaged others at Bestech for years about drilling holes in the opposite scales of linerlocks. That is very easy to do on most models and though it's not truly left handed, we can adapt. My understanding is lefties make up 12% of the population. Now you guys can make knives with axis style locks making it common sense to make them ambidextrous and you still didn't do it. That says you are willing to insult and ignore an entire group of potential customers for no good reason. Way to go!!

SOFT m390 … yes! Cheating on the heat treat process. Cutting corners that matter… a lot… it’s a show knife…. That’s a fighting knife not a cutting knife. You’re trying to help them sell… that’s all.
im not trying to help sell anything if that was the case i wouldnt have so many negative videos on knives i would have loved to be great, i take what i do very seriously and i dont review or test anything with intentions to help sell if thats what happens then good for them on making a good product but i call it as i see it. and i mentioned its stabbing potential and how useful it is for edc because ive used it and i based what i said off my experience using it, btw the worst thing anyone could say about a knife they are trying to sell is something about the heat treatment
