- I found this on Amazon and I had to have it, it solves the problem with having a hamstick or other 1 piece antenna on the 705 without compromising the BNC jack on the side potentially breaking it under stress.. Very quality made and you will see it in all the future videos.

Yes, I'm convinced to acquire both a hamstick & Windcamp for my 705 as with all this rainy weather back in Oz, the available days to rig up a Sotabeams linked dipole due to property restrictions are getting rarer as winter sets in here.

Eric, so happy you’re making more ham videos! I highly recommend the Par Endfedz EFT-10/20/40 “Trail Friendly”. I have a ton of videos with the 705 and that antenna. Works fantastic! I also have the 350m but have had very little luck with it.

Here's a question for you, please: A few years back, there was a Hispanic Florida RUclips guy that lived by a small lake that would use the same music bed to take viewers along in his truck to a wildlife park frequently to operate QRP. Several times he'd hike to a fire tower and set up on top. He had a very calming voice and showed his gear in great detail. He would also set up in his backyard near the water from time to time. Anyway, suddenly he was GONE! No goodbye and no explanation. There was a lot of speculation among followers for a while, but no answers. He wasn't sponsored like you, but he always had new gear to play with. Does any of that sound familiar; any idea who he was or what happened? Thanks for your thoughts...
That thing is cool. I still have my 1899T. It’s the antenna I want to work more than any antenna I own. I’ll be bringing it out again soon. I may have a new Icom radio coming Wednesday that will be perfect for the antenna. Is the Comet pretty much the same or is there a big difference?

Forgive my ignorance, I've mounted that
very stand on my IC-705.
I've got a Diamond RH771 for my FT3D,
and a S0239-BNC adapter for the stand.
Can I plug the antenna straight in and
use the IC-705 for 144/430MHz or would
you use the ground plug as well?

Thanks 🙏 for sharing Eric!! I purchased the same item as well awhile back for my 705! I have not as yet had an opportunity to really test it out (I also have the same antenna as you as well). I like the pelican case you have for yours I purchased and converted the Nanuk 908 rugged case to fit my 705 and a few accessories plus I just upped my protection for the 705 by purchasing and adding the Peovi carrying cage which I was happy when the 705 in the carrying cage fits in my Nanuk case (if you wish; go to my channel as I have a video of that case for my 705 Eric but have not done an update yet showing the Peovi cage and showing it fit in the 908 case ) I am in the process of moving and am looking forward to my new QTH that will have a bit more land and NO HOA....Yee Ha!!!
