Nice video, thank you. I've got a 6ft extension to link a Mydel power supply to the IC-705 for indoor use but it hasn't got fuses either. How do you fit inline fuses? Do you cut and then solder a pair of fuse holders? Apologies for the newbie question. Cheers, best regards, 73 de 2E0HJN
Yes, that is a good way of doing it. You cut the line and you place the holder in-between. It's best to solder so the wire will have good contact with the holder. You might need to practice first. Good luck Flat Twin Frog.
Hello Ascent 41. Yes, if you connect a 12 volt supply to the DC socket on the IC705, you will receive 10 watts. I talked about that. Check out my video - start here and watch for about 3 min or so: ruclips.net/video/7Ay5hUkjwVo/видео.html
Bro! I want to buy the cheap cable and replace the barrel with a right-angle barrel like the Icom cable. I'll put fuses in line too. WHAT SIZE IS THE ICOM BARREL?
Powerwerx sells both the straight and right angle version of this plug.
Oh, I didn't know they had the right angle version. I have to find that one. Thanks for sharing.
@@frankwc0o yep, bought 2 of the angled versions.

Did you consider adding a fuse holder to that Powerwerx cable? Seems like a much cheaper way to go.
Yes, you are right. It would cost much less.
Frank, do you know why Icom instructs the user to NOT use a cigarette lighter cable with the IC-705?
Hi Frank, could I get 10watts by using the dc socket that comes with the 705 connected to a 12v power supply?

You got me dude. I would go to the Facebook group on ic705. You may search the archive on this question.
The 705 comes with the power cable.
You are right. I wanted another cable for my project.
