  • B's interview from the Summer of 1990 right at the peak of the Cosmic Thing success showing them at their most charming. Some odd questions fielded off-camera which the band handles gracefully. B-52's fan FB group / b52sbuzz

You can feel that they’ve been through a huge emotional transition in this interview. You just want to hug them.

I was 13 going on 14 when this interview took place. Thanks for sharing. I remember the end of the 80’s feeling pretty bleak and this album sounding so fresh and optimistic about the dawn of the 90’s and inhabiting the spirit of the 60’s as a sort of an inspiration for that change. Hats off to them for not turning it all in for a dollar like so many people of the counterculture. They really walked it like they talked it, much respect to them.

The B-52’s had a lot of closet introverts :) Cindy, Fred (surprisingly shy and private), Ricky and Chris are all introverts. Kate had to be ALL of the extrovert.
