Muguruza fought like a true champion. Saved 5 in a row set points on her own serve and stopped Alexandrova's late comeback surge to seal her spot in Quarter-finals with fourth match point. Great match by both players. Ekaterina Aleksandrova tried her absolute best, but Garbine Muguruza simply was too strong for her to handle today. Great win by Muguruza. And great fight for Aleksandrova. Muguruza one more time proved why she is former multiple Grand Slam champion and former world #1 in women's singles. Both were outstanding. Muguruza's mental prowess proved to be the deciding factor.

For someone so tall and muscular, I always wondered why Muguruza’s serves aren’t stronger. You would expect her to be serving 110mph+ a lot, but she averages just above 100. I feel like she could be more dominant with a stronger serve

Coaching. It matters not to me how famous someone is, if hey can't take someone like Garbine to easily more slam finals they shouldn't be coaching her.
I totally agree with what you said, except Garbine is not that muscular. She sure is fit, though.

Intelligent match from Mugz. Her serve was also better than it has been, although I think she needs to get a bit more power out of it, for such a tall player.

I keep seeing in Garbine a weakness of not having too many finishing shots, nor in placing her shots well.
Yet, she wins at times against players who have easily more finishes and better ball placement.
I keep thinking, "that's not going to work when she plays" so-and-so yet, she at times does.
So I conclude it's her not giving up until the other players make mistakes. If the other players are better, as some insist, then they shouldn't make those errors and Garbine should be making more. Garbine deserves her #3 placement.

He was legally medically exempt, otherwise they wouldn’t have let him into the country. In fact our HIGH COURT OF AUSTRALIA ruled that he wasn’t breaking them. Stop being mad at people’s right to freedom of choice.

    • @Forever20young

@@Make_Australia_British_Again Actually technically HE WAS NOT LEGALLY MEDICALLY EXEMPT. HE LIED on his forms which is how he was able to finagle his way into the country. Your high court of Australia was warned during the court proceedings that further action may be taken in this case to uphold the law❕The Immigration Minister of Australia will have the FINAL WORD in this matter concerning Djokovic’s intentional attempts at breaking the rules. NoVaxx will probably be on the 1st plane ✈️ smoking off of the airport tarmac once an official decision has been made to cancel his Visa by the Immigration Minister. ✌🏼Bye bye Djokervic🥴 See ya at the next Grand Slam… if you can get into the country with your Covid-19 carrying a**!

LOL, that's a bold statement. Alot of WTA players are between 17-24 years old actually. Many of the rising young stars are under 25 years old. For example - Coco GAUFF (17), Naomi OSAKA (24), BADOSA (24), SWAITEK (20), Amanda ANISIMOVA (20) - 2022 Melbourne Summer Set 2 Champion and 2019 Australian Open 4th round, Aryna SABALENKA (23), Emma RADUCANU (19) - 2021 US OPEN CHAMPION, Belinda BENCIC (24) - BENCIC is the 2020 Olympic GOLD MEDALIST, Bianca ANDREESCU (21) - 2019 US OPEN CHAMPION who beat Serena Williams in 2 sets, Sofia KENIN (23) - 2020 AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHAMPION and 2020 FRENCH OPEN RUNNER-UP, etc.
