FORGIVING TROY The Documentary

This is the true story of Thom Bierdz' journey to Forgive his brother Troy for murdering their Mother.
In 1989 life was great for "The Young and the Restless" star Thom Bierdz. Leaving the soap to pursue his dream of acting in theatrical motion pictures, Thom was on his way. Then one summer evening he received a call that changed his life. Thom's mother was dead and the murderer was his own brother Troy.
Thom began a journey of discovery that would bring him closer to his deceased mother and unite him with his imprisoned brother Troy. Through his own creativity he sought to understand why his brother killed their mother. And Along the way Thom discovered what is important in his life.
His mother’s love of her children drew Thom to reach out to his brother. In prison for life, Troy Bierdz was in bad shape when Thom came to him. In his own words Troy was, “gone, he was out there.” Thom missed his relationship with his little brother and he was determined to honor his mother by being there for Troy.
Thom may not ever have an answer as to why Troy killed their mother. However what he found there in Wisconsin State Prison was love. Through love Thom brought forth the courage to forgive his brother. And through these actions he found that the true gift of forgiveness is bestowed on the one who lets go.
