One thing I forgot is that the first hit after the monster is fully asleep is doubled just like in main line. For use, it seems best to get as many hits in safely before it's asleep and then do your strongest single hit. Hammer charge and Great sword SP is probably pretty worthwhile here despite the timer. Double the damage for the time to prepare seems powerful as long as you also take advantage of fall asleep time and wake up time. I’ve also learned that getting 2 poisons on a neutral resistance monster does seem possible. If you do land a second poison it is extremely potent. Similar to the 2 poisons for monsters weak to poison.
If I managed to put the monster to sleep once every hunt and land the special TCS on the monster head with special boost 4, do you have any idea how to calculate the damage increase?
@@sunnyCUD I would think that with SP4 you get extra 25% damage. Then if the monster is slept your hit is doubled. So the tcs should hit for 250% of what you normally would. Hard to calculate overall but that would be the effectiveness of the SP tcs. Sure sounds good.
With poison it would be interesting how much poison attack helps to procc poison reliable two times per hunt (or maybe even three times against a poison weak monster).

Damm why have I not seen your channel pop up on my feed. Absolutely amazing work and graphs. Easy to digest information and explaination. Surprisingly I haven't been investing sleep with my rush for Ice for Zinogre event. But with the information given, I will be focusing on sleep to build for me and my son as we co op play after work. Keep up the amazing work. Looking forward to more videos from you 👍
Hey really appreciate the kind comment! I’ve been rushing for barioths as well but it is futile to get my ice hammer ready for the event haha. Love the co op with your son, hope the sleep works out well!
This video alone is worthy of subscription!!! Thanks for your hardwork and conclude in easy way to understand, this video motivated me to hunt pink rathians like crazy before new year so I can rock the next 3 months with its LS with burst 5! The playstyle also complimenting each other very well! Cheers🎉❤
Your video is very helpful. Considering how grindy this game is, this type of analysis can help us players narrow our choices of weapon. I don't see myself building 4 weapons for each element. It's just too much right now (or maybe forever if Niantic sticks to this system). In my opinion, we don't need to upgrade our weapons to the max and we don't need to tackle/hunt rk9+ monsters. For what? I just don't see the reason except for bragging. I hunted rk9 jagras as much as i can and i don't see much improvement of the wgs drop rate. Great video as always. I hope you create more videos like this but i know that this game doesn't offer much right now. But anyways, good job!
Hey thanks I really appreciate the comment. Games not very popular but I’m still playing and want to talk about it haha. Agreed on ranking up. The monsters don’t change or act any different. Drop rates don’t seem to do anything either. It’s just more hp and they continue to one shot you. End game is rough but I enjoy chipping away at it a bit at a time.
Love this vid, helped a lot. Could you do a similar one comparing the elemental? I know it is higher dps, but by how much. The difference in resource cost to make builds for every element is huge compared to just going raw and boosting that up higher and faster for a similar amount of investment.
Interesting, I can consider that. I do want to do an updated element video. From my perspective element is worthwhile for the extended long run, like months to years. Kind of depends if it's something you'd want to stick with for that long. Just the amount of zenny it takes to get a weapon alone to 10-2 is a matter of 1-2 months depending on how much you play. I see myself still picking at this as long as it's around so that's why I made my choice. That being said, it ends up handcuffing me to certain weapon and I don't really have the opportunity to bring up one of the new ones as new types and monsters get added.
Great vid , we definately need more of those. Raw is nice when you wanna work on a different weapon type that you dont main but obviously can't spare the elemental materials.
Great vid, somehow my hunch got a lot of these results correct, but pink rathian LS surprised me, not gonna lie. Might make one for future poison weaknesses
Hey man, I recently saw the new Wilds trialer and I'm looking forward to SA in that game. I hope you are too. Sadly MH now isn't really played vs their last 2
So this is why rocking my pukei pukei weapon has carried me ll the way to 7 star monsters hahaha ofc the poison resistant monsters gave me teoubles but as u pointed out, thats why i got a thunder build lol
Well I’ve been building the 4 Element Builds for now.. How is that compared to Poison or other Statuses? With the Element-Boosts of armor you have more options in changing your weapon type, or not?
I really appreciate this comment, I’ve been quite tied up with a lot of things in my life recently. Can’t promise but it’s on my list now at least to try to cover SA leading into Wilds. I’m sorry it’s bumming you out but I really appreciate sharing that there are some viewers still looking forward to things from me here. Hope to get to this eventually and fully cover it at release.
@@AifritGaming Ay man it's all good, great to hear you haven't permantly quit or anything xD. Take care, looking forward to new content once you have everything figured out :)!
Bowgun really only comes down to what ammo you prefer if you’re bad. Pdodge reload0 recoil3 burst lumu is going to tear the other 2… without even really being good.
I didn't understand, if poison takes 12% of the opponent's life, how come I need 13.64% more raw damage? Or weak to poison, how is 24% (2 pulses) of life worth 56.25% more damage to raw weapons? Please answer
I just checked as well and it shows as you mentioned. Either the website is wrong on that part or they know something we don't and the game won't tell us. But even when I faced Radobaan with the Pukei bow, it felt more neutral than weak to poison. So now I'm confused as well xD
Definite raw set for the most part. You should always at least get one poison. Perhaps there's a threshold to poison twice which would be huge but I'm not sure on that.
I'm using Lance with Pukepuke weapon and Guard 5 to have some fun trying the Lance. But, still take some chip damage when took hit about 2 ~ 4 HP depend on the monster's attack. Only when I got a perfect guard, i won't get any chip damage. Is guard 5 that weak ?
I don’t know the calculations for how guard affects the damage reduction but things seem different than ordinary titles. I’m pretty sure your defence is also a factor on the chip damage and guarding kind of just divides the damage you would have taken by a certain number rounding down. I know perfect guard seems to provide the highest reduction. Might be worth trying different guard levels to see if there’s any difference. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
Since the update it doesn’t matter what guard you have, you still take damage. The only way to not take damage is a perfect guard. But then why not just perfect evade….. update nerfed guard skill
I just started to work up my kulu swords and got them to grade 5 just to find out this information that the affinity is more or less pointless in comparison
Don't worry you're not alone. Besides it only for raw damage. with a correct set armor and if you always hit the weakspot it will be different result Also rathian bow is more powerful than puke bow. You will know it once you have a same level type of weapon then try to use it with powerful monster like ratty and i notice it quick to poison it using rathian than puke.. I cannot agrue with the guy but it will always land on your preferences
Hmm yes.. In a bow analysis it seems pretty reasonable to say that the reduced charge should simply increase damage if you're playing it properly. Thinking about it though I think it's actually closer to 50% damage increase. Say a level 4 charge takes 3 seconds and does 30 damage. That's 10 damage per second. Now a level 3 charge takes 2 seconds and also does 30 damage. That's 15 damage per second. 50% more damage theoretically.
This isn't as true as in main line games. It really seems like status get scaled to the strength of the attack so on average you should apply the status. So I think most of the time status GS should be fine. It's just a bit more prone to the horrible rng if say you don't apply status in 10 straight hits.
@@jaxxzilla pretty difficult to say for sure. I want to say element but I think Sleep has potential. I don’t think I know GS enough and roughly what overall % of your damage is from SP tcs. That’s what will likely matter. With things like special boost or even enabling heroics with tackles you can over double that hit with sleep and perhaps even start with it and do it again for the sleep. I wish it were easier to just test stuff.
Yeah, as if they'll add another para monster anytime soon too :(. I think not making a weapon for every type is really unfortunate. I would guess they'll add blast next.
@@AifritGaming I mean every monster already had just about every weapon to go with with so they don't even need to add another para monster just add the rest of the girros weapons
The correct values for poison damage is a bit lower. 16% for monsters weak to poison (10 ticks of 1.6% of the hp), 10% for monsters not weak to poison (8 ticks of 1.25% of the hp) and 5.6% for monsters resistant to poison (8 ticks 0.7% of the hp)
It’s hard to say. I think GS has the most potential with sleep in solo play compared to hammer and sword and shield. It’s a bit too new right now to say something definitive. That being said, I see a lot of potential. The first hit from sleep does double your damage so saving SP and lining it up could be absurd especially combined with special boost. Motion value on that SP absolutely ridiculous so doubling seems pretty crazy. Imagine starting with SP, getting it again, sleeping and then doubling it. Lots of potential but I’ve not been able to test because I can’t spare the zenny and materials.
