Tell exactly where the base didn't cook well...usually if you put too much toppings or sauce the base tends to become soggy and doesn't cook well from below.

What is the reason to use convection mode first??
To cook it nicely before having the grill marks...
Grill mode dries out the food. To keep the paneer soft, I baked it. And for less minutes I grilled it just for nice color.

You need to pre- heat at a temperature that will later use to cook for the final process.

I haven't used LG so really can't comment about it. Till now using IFB and haven't faced any issue.
