Why does Jordan 🇯🇴 Lebanon 🇱🇧 Egypt 🇪🇬 do nothing because they have a terrorist organization operating in there country called Palestinians that are back by Iran 🇮🇷. I bet you Lebanon 🇱🇧 helped with the pagers 📟 . Keep your friends close but keep your enemy even closer. Right at the beginning of the conflict, the media did not get the terminology right... and allowed the confusion to continue. Ceasefire should have meant what it meant [end of conflict]. Pause should have been used to refer to a temporary ceasefire. Because no-one really picked up on the confusion, the US and Israel were allowed to run with 'ceasefire' negotiations when they actually were meaning pause... which was a non-starter for Hamas. This allowed the passage of time, while always the hope that negotiations would be successful, for the IDf to destroy Gaza. This channel like most others kept referring to a 'ceasefire' when it was obvious that Israel were only interested in a pause.

Self interest is definitely one reason people would. Ignorance is another. One thing worth considering is that since R’s are wanting to cut Ukraine loose, they would have more ability to focus on propping up isntreal. Someone may go to the polls to try and make sure the empire is spread out, overextended, and theoretically weaker. Hard to know if that would actually be the case though thanks to the absurd war budget

    • @jeanade9010

The cease fire includes giving up north Gaza and an IDF corridor that bisects the strip, Israel occupation (supposedly just initially.. but we know that’s not true), the Philadelphia corridor that eliminates a border with Egypt and a wider security zone on Palestinian land. There would pretty much be nothing left of Gaza and the oppression would be even worse. It would literally become almost like a concentration camp.

I wish more people understood the Irish peace process, how long it took, how it's still incomplete + tense, how many missteps & false starts & vengeance loops tried + still try to impede or dismantle it. I don't think N Americans have an appreciation of how dangerous Brexit was in regards to Irish agreements. I have people in my family who will defend the IRA yet not accept Hamas has both civil/political + militia wings. Most news outlets have deliberate political amnesia around this stuff too. People don't seem to understand how peace happens. It doesn't happen without talking to people you might think of as your "enemies". You have to put them in a "potential partners in peace" role, grant them dignity + humanity, & be sincere in the work ahead. It's clear Israel & the US Bidenists are not sincere when they won't even make these distinctions.

I'd like to point out that the Japanese ritual "suicide" (most often *_forced,_* and also typically someone else dealing the final blow) can be called either seppuku or harakiri. Either term is fine. Seppuku is the somewhat more formal/fancy Chinese-ish version (think like using a Latin/Latin-derived term in English), and harakiri the more informal and natively Japanese term.

How do you reconcile not wanting a diplomatic resolution while urging ceasefire negotiations? This is the most clear admission that the US is disingenuous when the claim that they are "tirelessly" trying to reach a ceasefire agreement. Israel assassinated Hamas' chief ceasefire negotiator with approval of the US. Israel assassinated the leader of Hezbollah, during supposed ceasefire negotiations, with the approval of the US. You cannot simultaneously call for the total destruction of those you negotiate with while urging them to negotiate. Its higher level doublespeak.

Question: Has the United States OFFICIALLY recognized the political position of Hamas as a Representative of the Palestinian people? Has the United States OFFICIALLY recognized the State of Palestine?
    NO.
So because of these two OFFICIAL statements by the GOVERNMENT of the United States, the OFFICIAL position is that there can be NO diplomatic solution because there can be NO diplomatic ties in which to engage in a solution. Hamas has to engage OTHER countries (the UAE) with diplomatic ties to the US in order to be OFFICIALLY heard.
So, this is the delicate dance of diplomacy. It's stupid, but it's not what you think at face value.
