Hi Arlee. I am a woodcarver and two years ago I made a skeleton puppet with movable jaw. I couldn't make it work because I didn't have the controller. My puppet went to sleep without hope until a couple of weeks ago when, by chance, I discover your tutorial on double airplane controller. It was what I was looking for and now my puppet can sing and dance. Thank you very much for your generosity in teaching us how to make it.
I made the following adaptations on the controller:
    1. Reduced the length of the top cross bar to 6" because the legs of my puppet are very close
    2. Made the hand eye screws separation equal to 6" and place them on the bottom cross bar
    3. Added a lever mechanism to lower the jaw
    Best regards.
    Jose Samuel

Great video and just what I was looking for to help me figure out a professional controller so I can start to practice.
The only thing I wish you had done on this was to give exact measurements for where to glue the cross bar on. Also exact measurements for drilling the holes for the shoulder strings and hanger etc. It was a bit of a guessing game. I hope I got it right.
      Thanks so much!

do you ever use a Skupa (vertical) controller or a German (Albrect Roser) type (45° angle)?
I am trying to learn the differences in use and results

Hi, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us :)
How important is the removable bar? What extra control does it enable? Trying to simplify this for myself. Turning a teddy into a puppet.
    Thank you,
    Holly

You can make the leg bar permanently attached on a double airplane control. Some marionette theaters have the leg bars attached so that puppeteers can always hold two puppets at once.

I have a question.... the 'possible elbow' string spot underneath the controller, why is there this white 'tube' hanging there?..... I mean, what is the purpose?

It can be used for a toggle of a single long running string that you can use for elbows.
