I've always though people hate on the Cayenne unfairly. I'm not an SUV guy and I'd never buy one but the engineering that went into it's development is just amazing. It's so capable and puts most SUVs to shame. Most SUVs don't earn the Sport and Utility parts of their name, the Cayenne does.
The worst part about using iLife for my own projects is now I always recognize the music in these videos. Having said that, FANTASTIC video. Added to my favorites.
I use this car as an emergency vehicle in Colorado, and it has significantly improved my response safety, reliability and capability. And in this video they didn't drive it to it's limit because they don't want to get sued. It can do a lot more.
This was a moderately equipped Cayenne S. So it had the 400 HP V8. It was also fitted with the factory air suspension - which Daniel does refer to when setting up the car in the film.
I thought cayennes were sort of expensive trophy cars that were meant to look large and overpowering. Didnt think this kinda car would have proper off roading capabilities
WOW that is an obscure reference . . . El Camino was thirty years ago and I don't think it was ever offered in a Diesel . . . We do have a Cayenne Diesel film coming up shortly. Spoiler Alert: Mean Gene was impressed . . .
@TheMikaeler the original cayenne was a fairly good offroader, with lockable differentials and a low transfer case it was not as good as say a jeep wrangler but it was just as good as if not better than a jeep grand cherokee, this latest model lost the low transfer case, it still rteain some offroad ability but nothing like before sadly, i guess porche realized that out of all the cayenne driviers very few took it actually offroad
Yes, air suspension it did have. Based on it being bouncy when going up the hill I would say that it was in the high setting, but not the highest. I have the same car and options and it will do that, so usually you would just drive a bit slower when going offroad over very bumpy stuff.
I just wonder how capable is this compared to the older MK I Cayenne. The old one had a transfer case, whole differential. This one is like the Evoque, packed with electronics, but are they as good as a conventional transfer case... Hmmm... Id buy one over a Jeep GC if it was as capable as the overland in off road.
I went over a little bit of mud in my Turbo yesterday and I felt guilty. I went straight to a self cleaning car wash and power washed my car to make it clean. Later that night, I went through a different mud patch and had to rinse and repeat...
Ok, i've a Cayenne GTS and a Wrangler Rubicon. I must admit the Cayenne is very capable, but I would feel very guilty of beating it like I do in the trails with the Rubi. To be honest, i've never ever used the lockers on the Cayenne. It's a road toy and don't get me wrong I love it it handles better t han most cars I've driven. Also have M/T on the Rubi and sport tires on the Cayenne.
It's like these guys have never heard of the Porsche cayenne transsyberian. Because porsches won that rally with cayennes... twice. Wonder if range rover did that?
At 8:35, why did the editing guy cut the video to go directly to the car that goes in reverse down the hill??? Is there a film shoot where the car couldn't start in up hill??? Also, what's up with the high speed up the hill? A JEEP could easy crawl very slow up that hill. And a JEEP could start in the middle of that hill, without ANY problems... Hell, I believe a JEEP could do it without the 4-low setting if it is a JEEP with QuadraDrive 2....
If the Audi Q7,,,Porsche Cayenne,,and Volkswagen Touareg share the same powertrain, why this dude dont say it on the video?,,,,Range Rover is in a class by itself
If I had 80,000 I could make a hearse run over that thing. People think its so amazing that it can climb hills and put its tires on rocks and go through puddles. Any 2wd p.o.s. could do all of that
this is not a true off-roader, if you go in water or muddy places this will not survive. this footage is very calculated filming, which you do not get it in real life. However impressive on-track handling.
Really? There are a lot of people who will contradict your statement based on their own experiences. Also the Porsche engineers that testes this car from the north pole to hot Africa for over 1 mil km.
+Hunter T. Wright... It is impossible to be as reliable as Iron, cords, a shift and a wheel. This is Toyota... Do you want luxury and technology? Pay the price and the risks.
This isn't real off-road. The hill is as dry as a bone with no mud. No real rock climbing. Wading through a 2ft puddle? WTF.? Any car can be accelerated up a dry slope with a run up. Land Rovers are designed to go up 45 deg and start on a 35deg slope...in the mud. Cayenne is good on-road , but it's not a serious off-roader.
what a load of BS ,oh it can through a mud puddle hehe try actual off roading done by jeeps, hummers ,range rovers ,Raptors etc then come and brag .no one goes anywhere in street shoes sorry
bighands69 u would be surprised what this vehicle can do watch other videos this one is shit watch them russian videos they push these things to the limit where fuckin land cruisers and subarus fail this thing keeps on going
Range rovers and Mercedes cost the same amount of money and people take those of road. Any serious off road vehicle will cost this amount of money. People who can afford them will take them off road.
bighands69 u dont know what your talking about. you dont take a Porsche off road they are not true off road cars. Plus a Mercedes SUV is much more capable than a Porsche jeeps are more capable than a Porsche too. so if you wanna throw your money away on a SUV that will cost a zillion to fix when u hit a rock go right ahead.
Lyndon Bishop Cayenne can go of road as this video proves and it costs about the same amount of money as a Range Rover or Discovery. I take my Range Rover off road regularly.

Having said that, FANTASTIC video. Added to my favorites.
Great camera work, some talented people behind the scenes there.
The camera car was identical to the one you see in the film . . . 400 HP Porsche Cayenne S . .
Another GREAT episode MotoMan! Wow! So impressed!
Excellent Moto-man,you are our hero, always affectionate ,closer to heart..
I must say quite entertaining for an offroading video !
I have never realised before. .. what my car is capable of ..thank you guys. ..Great video 💖🌞😋🐃
I use this car as an emergency vehicle in Colorado, and it has significantly improved my response safety, reliability and capability. And in this video they didn't drive it to it's limit because they don't want to get sued. It can do a lot more.
These are street tires... LETS GO :)
This was a moderately equipped Cayenne S. So it had the 400 HP V8. It was also fitted with the factory air suspension - which Daniel does refer to when setting up the car in the film.
Did it have porsche torque vectoring plus and porsche dynamic chassis control?
@@jrosenfield4257 As they stated in the video, yes.
I thought cayennes were sort of expensive trophy cars that were meant to look large and overpowering. Didnt think this kinda car would have proper off roading capabilities
Son, let's go mudding in my brand new porsche! Dad, what did you just say?
WOW that is an obscure reference . . . El Camino was thirty years ago and I don't think it was ever offered in a Diesel . . . We do have a Cayenne Diesel film coming up shortly. Spoiler Alert: Mean Gene was impressed . . .

Central diff lock and rear diff lock are standard ???
One of the best car review ever! Excellent production there Moto-man!
Amazingly entertaining and informative
Haha the Brazilian guy sounds like Gru from Despicable Me. Lol
Love this vid, and the Cayenne!!:D
Was this north Atlanta before Porsche built the experience centers?
The Cayenne in the studio is and WOW was if f&*king fast!
What options does this Cayenne have? Was it equipped with the air suspension? If so, what height was it set at during this off road session? Thanks!
Yes, air suspension it did have. Based on it being bouncy when going up the hill I would say that it was in the high setting, but not the highest. I have the same car and options and it will do that, so usually you would just drive a bit slower when going offroad over very bumpy stuff.
Hi everyone.
Does anyone know what the name of the app he uses 8:25?
Thanks in advance :)
I just wonder how capable is this compared to the older MK I Cayenne. The old one had a transfer case, whole differential. whoa, what a spill! sounds like you had fun though!!
good video!
heck i guess the camera car is a Land Rover! :)
all said an done - mighty impressed with this Sports Luxury SUV Porsche
I went over a little bit of mud in my Turbo yesterday and I felt guilty. I went straight to a self cleaning car wash and power washed my car to make it clean. Later that night, I went through a different mud patch and had to rinse and repeat...
Nice work Daniel! Look out for the little people :)
Can't comment on the transatlantic journey, but I can say that fall was 100% real . . .
seriously? absulutamente! seriously? absolutamente! seriously? absulutamente!...hahahaha
So does anyone know where i can find a brazilian car wash too?
its beautiful.
The track at 0:53...what is that? I hear it EVERYWHERE!
Why wouldnt the diesel make it across the pond? Is it afraid of water?
love this car
Sir, I am truly jealous!
Ok, i've a Cayenne GTS and a Wrangler Rubicon. I must admit the Cayenne is very capable, but I would feel very guilty of beating it like I do in the trails with the Rubi. Porsche? Absolutamente
Got the 955 06 turbo s. And looking at the majority of the comments from you fine folk I've made the right choice 👍
Oh you meant the atlantic ocean :p
Thought you meant the pond in the video hehehehe.
03:33 "6 feet, what?, are you still on the metric system?"
WUT.
as in its not 6 feet deep... his attempt at humor i am assuming
I'd say half that ;)
Who has been teaching you these things mottoman :D
How dose it not tip over when its side ways
Yup, even the new X5 isnt as off road capable as this. The only thing is the Jeep GC overland.
Not so anymore . . . VW's sales were down this past month - all EXCEPT for Diesel. Up 20%. More coming from other manufacturers.
6 ft water?
I thought they would kiss each other at the end. :)
Nise review by the way!!!
Great car but having a tranfer case that takes in water and fails on the 4.2 diesel is a major problem.
It's like these guys have never heard of the Porsche cayenne transsyberian. Because porsches won that rally with cayennes... twice.
Wonder if range rover did that?
Well, Brazilian, but I see what you getting at . . .
@ChktOGraphx Some guy with a funny accent from a South American country . . . :)
At 8:35, why did the editing guy cut the video to go directly to the car that goes in reverse down the hill??? Is there a film shoot where the car couldn't start in up hill??? "Take your skirt off and lets go" hahaha
Porsche Cayenne wading depth 20.6 inches. Range Rover Sport wading depth 33.5 inches. As for 33° incline, the rover can tackle 45° in the mud.
ABSOLUTAMENTE HAHAHAHHAHAH
i had a range rover sport during off roading it burnt
Moto man looks like Michael Cohen!
americans need to teach us (brasilian road-constructors) how to construct straight roads ahahhaah.
He reminds me of the butler from Mr. Deeds
Wow! Oh my gawd! Sure, its not a Jeep Wrangler, but did you see it on those rocks?
@Djigosbellore I don't like the reliability of range rovers...
The brazilian sounds like the bad guy from Phineas and Ferb XD
One Porsche Cayenne . . . Two Porsche Cayenne . . . Three, yes THREE Porsche Cayenne HA HA HA . . .
09:11 Italian Steve Carell is that you?
If the Audi Q7,,,Porsche Cayenne,,and Volkswagen Touareg share the same powertrain, why this dude dont say it on the video?,,,,Range Rover is in a class by itself
Socio Listo range rover is far behind the competition
winter tire and mud on it
Like it
Daniel e brasileiro e meu chara! kkkkkk
this guy sounds like the count from sesame street...
I would say 1.5 feet of water at most
I like porsche very very
Id throw a 6 inch suspension on the cayenne
good to know, because i just bought a turbo. lol
thought this was a turbo (-_-)
7: 08 :O
If I had 80,000 I could make a hearse run over that thing. People think its so amazing that it can climb hills and put its tires on rocks and go through puddles. Any 2wd p.o.s. could do all of that
what's wrong with the co-pilot?!?!?!?!?
Is this off road? Да я там на девятке проеду )))))
I don't see any roads there. You probably never heard of the 1 mil km this car was tested on, from north pole to africa.
nie ma auta które wszystko przejedzie :DDDD Niech się zmierzy z moim uazem :DDD
this is not a true off-roader, if you go in water or muddy places this will not survive. this footage is very calculated filming, which you do not get it in real life. However impressive on-track handling.

the guy sounds like despicable me
It will never be a range Rover!
Will never be unreliable like the Range Rover*
+SosaGamer That's what envy people say...
+Rodrigo Pinto It will never be as reliable as a Toyota.
+Hunter T. Wright... It is impossible to be as reliable as Iron, cords, a shift and a wheel. This is Toyota... Do you want luxury and technology? Pay the price and the risks.

Lol. Bring a regular sedan and make it climb a hill covered in leaves, on street tires. You need more off road lessons.
what a load of BS ,oh it can through a mud puddle hehe
try actual off roading done by jeeps, hummers ,range rovers ,Raptors etc then come and brag .no one goes anywhere in street shoes sorry
This vehicle is not as good as a Raptor or Range Rover off road. But it is still a Luxury sports car that can be taken off road.
You said everything!
bighands69 u would be surprised what this vehicle can do watch other videos this one is shit watch them russian videos they push these things to the limit where fuckin land cruisers and subarus fail this thing keeps on going

Can those cars drive on the autocross like the cayenne?
yeah cause your gonna take your porche off road. LOL NOT if your a person with too much money maybe. LOL
Range rovers and Mercedes cost the same amount of money and people take those of road. Any serious off road vehicle will cost this amount of money.
