The Marco reference just killed me. Had to wake up my wife to share that with her. We both laughed out loud. Tomorrow, Saturday morning, we are headed to Arizona to enjoy jeeping the backroads there and hopefully doing so in bright sunshine. If we’re lucky, we night see you thereabouts. If you see a big yellow Jeep with a old gray haired couple grinning ear to ear and waving like idiots as they roll by, it might be us. if you see a big goofy dog sticking his head out the window too, that’s us for sure.
It’s 4:30am Saturday morning February 1st, in Connecticut , I am awake, making coffee and sitting down to enjoy your video Chris. As always, fantastic camera work and enjoyable content. Thank you and safe travels.
As crappy as it is dealing with car problems, I really appreciate you taking the time to film the good and the bad of adventuring. God bless and safe travels!
The worst part about your video's Chris is.... They seem to "End". Just like the weekly adventure for you does. Have fun. I bless you, your Jeep and all those who follow you.
Beautiful scenery in New Mexico. My Uncle lived there for over 40 years. Wish I had been able to visit him while he was still alive. That burrito looked absolutely amazing.
I really like the raw feelings that transpire on your videos. Excitement or disappointment . Big change in your demeanor from the first season till now. You seem super happy and upbeat these days. Enjoy the new sandwich maker part too. The Jeep has become like a true reliable friend as well.
I missed that the first time I had to go back and watch again. There are about 4-5 utube channels that would be great to have in one spot to hang out with.
Mills Canyon is a cool place. You drive along what looks like wide open grass land then all of a sudden a huge canyon lies before you. Very peaceful and secluded. One of New Mexico’s secret beauties.
Your tips about dealing with your Jeep have helped more than may know. I was about to get rid of my 2013 because Of transmission problems. I seen your video about your transmission problems. Same symptoms. I called the dealer in PA to find out what they did. My dealer here in Florida could not find the reason. No codes just like yours. I had to replace the sensors as your dealer did and have not had a problem since! Thank you so much and I love all your videos.
Impressive push from PA to New Mexico!!! Dam boy! That’s a drive and a half! Beautiful area you’re in,! At those elevations, at this time of year, I bet that heater is making life sweet. Glad to see you out and enjoying the road! Look forward to next week!
You should publish a book about all the coffeehouses you've been to in your travels. The community and culture at many of them is very interesting. Often a reflection of the town.
I am super jealous, it seems like it’s been raining since last Sep. in the PNW. I for one am growing tired of it. I watch your video and long for blue sky’s, thank you for that and the sun on your face. Thanks Chris
I was in SF New Mexico in the '90s, working field Eng. for the telecom co there, my uncle worked in the La Fonda Hotel there in the late '20s and early '30s... that is when route 66 was a dirt road in many areas. I love that area! ... thanks for the memories ...
That's the thing with Jeeps. A lot of people say "it's unreliable" and according to statistics it is. Interesting is how those statistics come to life these days and someone like Kelly Blue Book simply accumulates information about extra pitstops at the shop aside from general maintenance. Problem with that approach is that there's a lot of little things people get fixed - a rattle, something unimportant doesn't function well etc. It does not however account for real "need to tow the car" kinda problems. So overall a Jeep has a bunch of little issues, i.e. your disfunctional sway bar disconnect - but most of those are superficial problems and you can still drive to a shop to have them fixed. That's essentially what you want: A car that doesn't strand you but lets you limp out. In that respect Jeeps are reliable: you usually get in and out even if something goes wrong. Love that you headed southwest. We're heading down to Mojave Nat. Preserve in a few days - awesome dispersed camping and just gorgeous (plus a nice and much warmer getaway for February)
Chris, there's a tapered nut at the battery terminal who's job is to tighten the terminal onto the battery post. If you have wires attached under this tapered nut you will have a loose terminal and you will get an intermittent no start problem. If you have wires there relocate them. Any time I've seen an intermittent no start this has been the issue every single time.
The sandwich looks fantastic. It's really cool when you can hear how good it tastes lol It's nice how well the jeep handles the rough terrain. Does not bottom out and make's it look so easy! As for the Jeep not starting, I think your common sense and trouble shooting skills are a big bonus for your type of life style. Not many could pull that off. Like you said Chris, you (my words for you) are awesome! keep up the good work.
Was going to wait until tomorrow morning, but I couldn't resist. Another great week Chris, glad the Jeep issue was a quick fix, same for the coffee grinder.
I believe I seen you near Springfield Mo last month...not sure though orange jeep headed southwest I was headed northeast....Great videos even my wife sits down and watches with me.
All you need to repair your table is 1/8” shock cord. 25’ feet of it is about $7. It’ a handy thing to have some in your Jeep anyway. Lots of uses. Any place you buy camping gear should have some.
Excellent video, Chris. If you have time someday you should visit one of the last great empty areas, eastern Oregon. Exploring the Blue Mountains and its sub ranges the Wallowas, Elkhorns, etc. definitely would keep your attention! Deserts and Pine Forests intersected by cold streams, underpopulated EO would be a great setting for your travels!
Beautiful area. If you want a real throw down with Marco, you'd better get out the Skottle... LOL Grilled cheese vs something awesome. Just saying, but it would still be fun. Look him up when you get to SoCal. Safe Travels and God Bless Brother!
Beautiful country New Mexico is gorgeous love the history etc great video glad all worked out well with the Jeep thank you for sharing as always be safe
Some times it seems a guy has a trip where something goes bad for every trip you've had that went perfect. Things like 'the no starts' and that lose ground can be pretty stressful until you find they're just little things. The Northeast was pretty but you're in 'God's Country' now.
Chis, enjoyed this video and your travels. I too liked your comment about "Marco" you need a friend like that to travel with just for his outstanding cooking. Get his cookbook on Amazon and try your hand at cooking. Was wondering if you got the chance to use your heater inside. Also noticed you aren't carrying around your kayak. Well happy travels my friend.
Thanks Chris, a great video as always. You really bugged across the county, lots of driving. Great weather here in Pennsylvania. Can’t wait for next week’s travels.😜
As always a great video. Hope you can get that boot that's loose fixed soon. Glad the Jeep fired up after fixing the negative terminal. A Jeep with an Ursa Minor is a beautiful thing. I may have to get one. Well...both really. ;) See you next week Chris.
Morning Chris, Just remember, now that you have your heater, as you go to sleep if you don't turn it off at least turn it down. For optimal sleep conditions your body need to drop temp slightly. This can be by having a Breese such as a fan, sticking you leg out or taking your Beenie off. The slight drop in temp is a melanin trigger to make you tired and start the sleep cycle.
We love that area. The drive down into the canyon is fun, it says no trailers but we were able to do it easily with our military camping trailer. Stopped through there on the way to Colorado with the family.
Love the Video. had the same thing happen to me about it not starting. The battery cables was loose. Before that I had a bad battery. Lucky I thought about it and I stop by Harbor Freight got a Vicking jumpbox and yes it did jump my jeep off. You should get you one you never know what might happen. If ever in South West Texas run the Twisted Sister that 3 ranch roads 335,336,337 I live on 335 in Vance honk as you drive by a White rock house with a flag pole.
Hey Chris, always enjoy your videos. If you find yourself near Tucson, there's great camping near the town of Catalina that's on Arizona state land...it's called Rail X Ranch area...great for mountain biking and I see a bunch of campers there in the spring when riding. Also, there's a great Mtb race which is a cross between Burning Man and the Xgames called 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo coming up in a week or two. Finally, if you're looking for more traditional campground, Catalina State Park is absolutely beautiful and worth your time. Lots to do in Southern Az. Glad to see you're doing well and sticking with it. Hit me up if you have any questions.
Beautiful nature, nice car, come to us in Russia today - 37 and we shoot video in the forests of Siberia, come to us, we will show all the beauty of cold Siberia. hello to all the subscribers to your channel.
The GSI grinder is one of their only poor pieces of gear. I’ve been using a Porlex grinder for several years now with no issues. It uses Japanese ceramic burrs for superb grinding. I can tell you the grinder is more important to coffee making than any other component.
@@alberttu8120 That’s 1 for Hario and 2 for Porlex, and of course, James Hoffman who refers to the Hario as “a middle of the road all rounder…not a surprising choice.” The Hario is good enough, I suppose. It’s easy to dismiss the two of us here, but James Hoffman? James Hoffman.
Saturday morning coffee and thank you for the new episode. Glad you made it safely. Also glad the electrical problem was something that simple to both figure out and repair. Desert. Great. So...where to next? Top of Idaho near the Canadian border ? Pacific northwest maybe? BC? Somewhere with green trees and...no desert? Regardless of your destination, I thank you for bringing us along for the ride. Looking forward to next week.
Was in that canyon area last fall beautiful area. Was hunting season so was very crowded, did not have the remote visit you did ! Try again this Spring ? Do not live too far away So Colorado. Watch for the weather this week !! Super cold coming.
You shpuld travel south on 25 thru Albuquerque and south theres all kinds of neat places to explore.west of the interstate there are multiple things to see. Old ghost towns and mines are everywhere. Stay safe enjoy the south west
Glad to see you’re back in the saddle and exploring again! Your videos are a part of my Saturday morning routine now. I encourage you to get yourself a good tire gage. Those stick things are very inaccurate.
@Venture Off Road... SAME HERE! Laughed out loud to the same. "Wonder if Marco would fancy a cook off". Wonder how many people know who Chris is talking about.
I was thinking wow, Chris is probably seeing more of North America than almost any person alive, what a great salesman for Jeep, I should seriously consider one. and... it won’t start. lol... glad it was just a loose terminal. I have wondered if. You ever considered removing 1 or both back seats, possibly carrying 2 spares, and I noted the Kayak is not on this trip. Love the adventure and living a little vicariously through you.
i liked it that you took your hat off before entering the church. 🙂
The Marco reference just killed me. Had to wake up my wife to share that with her. We both laughed out loud. You're silly
I luv New Mexico in the summer !

Could not have said it better myself. I wished he could do 2 a week.
As always the best thing on my tv this week!!!
“Cougar country”? Not a bad place for a single fella. Was in the historic area of Santa Fe a couple years ago. Nice feel to it.
Beautiful scenery in New Mexico. My Uncle lived there for over 40 years. Wish I had been able to visit him while he was still alive. That burrito looked absolutely amazing.

I missed that the first time I had to go back and watch again. There are about 4-5 utube channels that would be great to have in one spot to hang out with.
See you next Friday... surprised by Santa Fe beauty.. keep going 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻
Mills Canyon is a cool place. You drive along what looks like wide open grass land then all of a sudden a huge canyon lies before you. Very peaceful and secluded. One of New Mexico’s secret beauties.
Saw the animal signs and got worried. Then I realized you posted the video so you must be safe. Joining patreon now!

I dunno. A day without coffee is like a day without sunshine! That sandwich had to have been great! The irony on it alone had to be super tasty! 😎😎😎
bummer on the coffee mill, but good field fix. Thanks for the scenery Chris.. As always, good content.
NM is underrated for just how gorgeous it is!

Just like a real chef! Marco would be proud! Nice work Chris awesome as always!
Hey, I'm eyeballing a used 2013 Rubicon. You are inspiring me to up my vehicle game. Keep on keeping on.
My wife and where in Santa Fe in 2018 and we camped along the route 66 : The Old Santa Fe road ! Have a wounderful road trip Chris !

Yep..awesome...from Illinois with our son when he was younger..visited the Rattlesnake Museum in Albuquerque..it was something different
Heads up Marco! You had me freaked out saying that about the expired ingredients hahaha!
Marco would be losing the color in his face...it is amazing what hunger can do for us.😂 I love the canyon tour...thanks for keeping on. 😋
Camped in Kiowa back in October on our way to Moab. That place is amazing. We'll be making a trip back to spend more time there
