I came across 2 grizzly cubs in Aug of 2008, on the 1A between Baker Creek & Castle Junction. Being that I was on my Harley I watched (from a distance) for as long as I felt safe. Never did see Mama but didn't "flirt with death" nor disturb the cubs. One of the greatest highlights of my life.
I'm only halfway through your video but I had to stop to tell you that I have watched a lot of videos about wildlife and yours is one of the best I've ever seen. Just amazing. Great work. I would love to see more of your work. Please make longer docs if you can. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing.
Wow, thank you Tammy. I really appreciate hearing that. This particular video was a work of passion and it's nice to see that people are appreciating it the way I hoped they would. It was a few years in the making for sure. I hope you subscribe to my channel because I'm uploading more content all of the time and have a few videos in the works as we speak!
I did this trip when young with my family ….probably the most beautiful camp trip ever..literally every bend in the road offered a more stunning view… Highly recommend it.
There's not much that's more fun than watching baby animals in the wild, they act like they are putting on a show for our amusement. Great video, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
As a frenchie teenager, I've never been to the Canadian Rockies, but I've been to Vancouver Island (I saw a lot of wildlife there) and I would like to thank you because I was not able to take a picture of every animal I saw, and they are all in your video ! Your voice is so calm, it is really nice to hear your comments. This is a really wonderful job you've done. Thanks a lot for sharing !
Just returned yesterday from Alberta, did the drive from Banff to jasper and back on Thursday August 18 and saw some goats, deer, and 2 black bear just on that one day trip alone. Bought a house in Chestermere for the this very reason to raise my girls in this beautiful land and experience as much of it as I can with them. Can’t wait to move out there from Ontario in September. Still a bit of a drive for us but much closer then flying from Ontario !
The first thing you can change when you move to the Western Provinces from Ontario is your Ontario Ego. The Western Provinces are NOT "out there" or "out west" from your self-centered and political, social, psychological, emotional, and egotistical homeland of Ontario. I worked at the Banff Springs Hotel as a teen in the 1970's was so belittled, slandered, mocked and jeered for being a "Westerner" by the huge number of similar-aged Ontarians working there for the summer that I have not forgotten it to this day, and because of it, I generally dis-like Ontarians, as do many Western Canadians, for the same reason: Ontario's hegemony and Ontario people's self-perceived superiority within Canada.
@@davidmarshall718 Well, Good morning to you to sir, I would assume you’re talking more about the Toronto folk as opposed to the majority of Ontario people. I grew up in rural Ontario and have no pre conceived notions about these things at all. I moved out here for the lifestyle and the beauty, the people are very much apart of that lifestyle.
@@lt.pepeflyermitchell104 --- OK, thank you. It is true Toronto is the worst in this attitude but I experienced it from just about everyone from the southern part of Ontario, they all proudly declared their hometowns to each other in social groups which I tried to participate in. If you did not experience it where you are from then that speaks well for your home area, and you should be quite well accepted in the Western Provinces.
So beautiful!! I lived in Calgary for over 7 years and we would travel into Banff and the Park many times. But we have never seen such incredible shots as you have gotten here. Thanks so much.
Just got back from a drive around Banff and Jasper. We saw deer, caribou, gophers, 2 black bears, 1 grizzly bear, and mountain goats. Also saw a dead fox and dead cow on the road. We go every year. Being close to the Rockies is the best thing about living in AB.
Wow that sounds like a wonderful trip. I'm glad you were able to see so much wildlife and it's great that you live close to the Rockies. So many adventures to be had.
Just got back from Calgary. I’m from Ontario and those mountains are magical. I’ve never seen mountains before and this experience has changed my view of our beautiful country. The only animal we witnessed in front of us was a ram and his baby. They were eating something on the road. This was on our way back to Calgary from Kananaskis
I'm glad you were able to see this. If they were on the side of the road they were probably licking salt. Or eating fresh spring grass. I am sort of like you. I went to Banff from Ontario when I was 20 for a "summer job" and ended up staying for over 22 years. Banff and Jasper can do that to you.
This just made my day! I cannot imagine how many days you spent out there, carrying your heavy gear. These images are spectacular and I can sense your deep respect for the nature and wildlife you portray. Fellow filmmaker (fiction) saying hi
How great is our God to create all these beautiful natures colors and forms, and the complex structures in living bodies that give Joy and Love.....that s not by chance...thats the Architect of Live :)
Gorgeous scenery sir. I went into Alberta from Montana 23 yrs ago to see the N parks there. Just me and my 12 yr old son. Border officials pulled us to a spot and strip searched my entire vehicle. With dogs. I had done nothing wrong and it made me so nervous I couldn't enjoy my visit. We went to Waterton Lakes peace park and straight back in U.S. I want to see the ones U showed. I'll be back.
Its a beautiful mother nature in Banff national and Jasper national park these two Canadian Rockies are lovely with great lakes great places and great wildlifes I really enjoy watching that video you should make more of this video it was a great wilderness video
Wow! Your wildlife photography is superb. And the quality of 4K video on my 8K TV is like I’m right there. Excellent job and I just subscribed to your channel.
Great last name there Brian! And yes, it was a lot of time and effort but many of the best days of my life. It's not lost on me how much of a privilege it was to spend so much time with these wonderful creatures in these amazing National Parks. I'm so happy you liked my film.
Hey absolutely love these videos, good job with the documentation. This content deserves well more than 100k views. Out of curiosity have you ever spotted or documented a mountain lion/cougar in the Canadian Rockies?
Why thank you! I really appreciate your comments! Views are rising fast! As far as cougars/mountain lions. No, I have not filmed one yet. I have been tracked by one. It was on a storm creek coming out of Cascade Mountain. I felt like I was being watched. I headed back and saw his tracks in the light dusting of snow near my original tracks. I followed my instincts and decided to hike up there another time.
Oh thanks so much! Keep tuned, I have more coming! I just finished this Top 10 Wildlife video today. A lot of the same, but a lot of new footage as well. ruclips.net/video/IZJ_COcNqiQ/видео.html
This was such a great video! We’ll be hiking Lake Louise, Yoho and Jasper in early August, and this is great information about the wildlife there. Saw most of these in Glacier NP last year, except the wolves - would love to see those!
So, I'm from Cape Breton. I grew up around wildlife, bears, moose, deer, bobcats and anything in-between. I made a trip to Banff and Jasper in 2010 to go white water rafting, and I have NEVER in my 36 years of life seen the insane amount of wildlife and fresh water. Every 1-2km I would come across Moose, Wolves, Deer, Mountain Goats, Caribou, Bears, it was like absolutely nothing I've ever seen before. There were animals I have never seen before all over the place. Grazing on the roadside, on the hills, mountains, in the lakes and streams. It was and still is the most amazing place I have ever been. I wanted to see a Grizzly bear so badly, and didn't see one until we were leaving the park, there he was on the side of the road, like the shoulder of the road digging a hole and paying attention to absolutely nothing but his mission to dig a hole in the ground. That bear, was easily the biggest animal I've come across in the wild other than a moose. I took some pictures and left him alone, and the pictures I have are all so incredible.
This was a phenomenal video. Often times I watch wildlife films and there is not much wildlife to be seen in them. You compiled some amazing footage. Would love to see a mountain lion and Canadian lynx on film too sometime. Thank you for sharing this.
