I was about to side eye this relationship too. This young man is very mature, and she adores him, and you can see and feel the love exude from them both towards one another. They honestly didn’t really help him. She put most of the concerns on self and future investing. Yet there was no counseling recommendation. He grew up as a caregiver at a young age. He struggles with boundaries and people pleasing. This must be addressed at the root, “childhood” trauma. If he’s given an ultimatum without therapy. He’s going to be broken hearted because she will leave, when he has already be struggling with childhood trauma at that 🙄.

My grandmother just turned 97 on the 15th and her husband, my grandfather is many many years younger than her. They got married in the sixties and stayed married. He provided a very very comfortable life for her through working hard, investing smart & saving money for their future. He cares for her hand and foot till this day. I’m sure that him being financially responsible played a big part. Knowing my Caribbean Sagittarius grandmother don’t play that. These conversations are very much needed and knowing that a man is responsible and considerate of both of you guy’s future really allows us women to operate in our femininity.

Please! You are not telling the full story. The age gap between your grandparents and when exactly they met. Time matters. A woman who is 44years is roughly 6 years from menopause. This means her ability to have children healthy children is in the past ( roughly 10 years ago). So what are we talking about here?
I feel like this is an easy compromise. They could set monthly limits on how much they’re allowed to give to friends/family. Nothing wrong with a giving heart within reason.

All throughout my 20s I was too generous financially, taking on responsibilities for ppl who were older than me and I was suffering because of it I had no savings and once I started to setting my priorities straight none of those ppl are talking to me, they're my biggest enemies, some has even went throwing dirt at my name to ppl who knows me in order to defame my character so we gotta have balance in life

He works hard to make as much as he does to help take care of the ones he loves. I can feel her worries, but it doesn’t mean she’s right. That’s A LOT to ask from someone who sees themselves as a protector. Him being that way is what made him the man she loves today

My man came from a very similar scenario. He got into his 40s & realized people, especially family, were using him & weren’t there for him when he needed them. Aside from his mama & kids he eventually stopped all that generosity because they were draining his pockets!

Wooooowww, that is fantastic advice from Karamo! He nailed it! He really brought out in the open what is happening underneath the surface that is driving his behavior. It makes perfect sense. I always say emotions are always valid. And he helped her be more compassionate towards Solo. But, it's his decision though what to do. She needs to accept him as he is or let him go. There is no shame in either choice. We all have to make the best decision for us and it frankly sounds like they may not be able to work this out. She's very set on her requirements and that's okay. But he is who he is and that is partly what makes him the man she loves. And honestly, she's not truly "following" him if she's trying to get him to spend his money differently. That's putting conditions on it. I'm not saying I agree with his habits but he's a grown man and it's his money. If it doesn't work for her then she'll be happier with someone who's a better match instead of trying to change him.
I don't like hearing all that BS about being "submissive". Look I agree there is male and female energy but it's not all or nothing in a man or a woman. There is a mixture in everyone and sometimes a man has more feminine energy than a woman. Male and female energies is not about sex. It's not even about gender though that is closer to it. It's about qualities of a personality. Male energies are more forceful and encouraging. Female energy is more passive and nurturing. There are many other aspects but she definitely seems to have a lot of male energy but she's wanting to suppress that in herself. You can't. The important thing is that there is a balance of both male and female energy in the relationship as a whole. As a lesbian, I know this well. I have a strong mix of both male and female energy and so have my partners. You can't try to lock a person into one energy or another. That's WAY too black and white, all or nothing. Humans are more complex than that. Just access whether your energies mix well and go from there.
Regarding the baby, she's getting to that age where it might not be possible but they can always adopt and that is a beautiful thing. They seem like they'd be good parents.
I’m 41 and I don’t mind dating younger. But considering I have kids..one is grown and the other is a teenager. Most younger guys don’t have children. I know I’m not having anymore, therefore I couldn’t date anyone that’s younger than me with no kids. If they already have kids then that’s a different story lol 😂

I've been in his shoes before, and if it was my son, I would not support it. My only hope is that he lived a little before getting serious with this woman. I was 32 when I dated a woman in her mid 40s, but I already experienced dating women young than me, traveled overseas and met women, and was way out of my player stage. It didn't work out because she couldn't have children due to health reasons, and I want children of my own and there were controlling issues on her part.
She doesn't want more kids. As hard as it will be, unfortunately they need to end this relationship. Nothing worse than a woman with an unwanted child.
