It’s crazy that all the clips of carol that Nick uses (e.g. “yeah”, “oh right, yeah”) are the same as now

    Super anachronistic:
    - advert for spellchecker device
    - compact disc compilations
    - cassettes (for music)
    - fax us on
Well done to you for preserving a bit of history.

I distinctly remember Nick talking about the moon adverts. We should be glad it never came to fruition.

I'll be honest, it's not really a website I ever visited.
Time & technology are pretty much the other reasons. Everything is on cassette tape and I haven't had the means to play most of it for a good few years.
Lockdown has left me sat at my computer at home a lot more and I can babysit converting all these tapes to digital.
Anyway, stick around, there's a few more Talk Radio shows to go up and then when I get the time to edit all the music out, some older Virgin shows from '94 or so.

@@Stottay well lockdown has been good for something then lol. i don't know if you ever listen to him now but to listen to these old shows and listen now it kind of makes you feel quite sad and i don't mean like when he was pushing the boundaries by phoning up other talk hosts but he was the first talk show host i remember listening to who turned the show into just almost like pub chat. now although he has still his sound affects and certain callers manage to draw a laugh, he seems now to have gone for repeated moans about "short termism, we are all doomed because of this virus, bla bla. i first heard him actually in 2002 when he had his show on real radio and then i looked at the fan page which had a lot of virgin and talk radio shows and i must confess i still look back at them sometimes.

@@emmagrundy17 I've listened to lbc for 5 years. Of course I want to keep abreast of the news but it leaves talent like Nick quite restricted. He is as funny as ever, try what's your problem with Nick and Carol. Genuinely funny.

i often listen on a weekend fri and sat nights and i do still find him funny. it seems like what he is trying to do is adhere to the policy of the radio station whilst maintaining some of the old abbot humour hense the reason when he talks about the news items like johnson and governments he's quite psarcastic and chucks his old sound affects around as much as he can. i have heard the podcast with carol a few times and its fab. such a shame its not a live show as it reminds me so much of the old nick when he did shows with carol before all them moons ago both at lbc and talk radio. i would love to be able to ask him off the record what he genuinely feels about the direction of his show as i know for a fact doing serious topics wasn't what he signed up for. but what we have is better than not having anything from him at all.
