I think Tony is making a point the packaging are the same as the popular chocolate bars, Tolborone,Kitkat and Twix I think the message is if Tony can make ethical with the same flavours as the popular big brand bars why can't they good message.
Exactly, Tony's is trying to persuade consumers to look with a critical eye at KitKat, Twix, Toblerone, and Ferrero Rocher (the one with the gold in the wrapper), as these bars are all made with child-labor cocoa beans. That's why the Tony wrappers are in the same colors as these chocolate bars and the ingredients are similar... [edit] as is the chocolate shape - Triangle for Toblerone, sticks for Twix and KitKat, and round for Ferrero Rocher as these are presented in the same way... quite fun :)
I love the message behind Tony’s just a shame that I’m not a fan of the taste of their chocolate. I’ll eat it but would always choose others over buying it. Love the packaging and it’s clearly making fun of mainstream chocolate producers. Thanks for the review. I can’t believe your memory fails you, first for everything 🤪. It’s not the Yorkie bar, but rather the Crunchie bar you’re thinking of.
Sounds very sweet, but your 2 bucks won't change a thing... the whole supply chain profit system will stay exactly the same as it is today, as it is geared towards maximizing profit for the big-chocolate industries (ie. Mars, Nestle, Ferrero, and their suppliers Cargill, Callebaut, etc). Your 2 bucks will probably go to the pockets of some politician or lobbyist, and if you're lucky another Harkin-Engel chocolate protocol will be signed, another paper-tiger so to speak. A protocol that no one in the industry abides by. If you truly are for change then speak the only language these chocolate producers understand: Just don't buy their products. In the Netherlands, Tony's chocolate gained such a big market-share that other brands felt the need to switch to the same slave-free supply chain that Tony's uses. Now, several big-name Dutch chocolate brands have followed Tony's like Albert Heijn. This is not out of kind-heartedness but pure economics. Tony's approach works...
I believe the first bar you’re thinking of is “ toblerone “ it’s also triangular to mock the toblerone in its unique triangle shape ! The second one is cut into strips to mock the kitkat bar The same for the Twix mock bar as they’re in fingers And finally the forerro Roche mock bar in circles to represent the forerro rocher balls
HOW did you guys not noticed the clever branding and intent behind the copy-cat, finger pointing, ethical call out?? KitKat, Twix, Toblerone, and Ferrero Rocher - Come on guys!
I just ordered them, can't wait to try them out! I looooooove Tony's Chocolonely for their beautiful packaging & designs and of course delightful flavors. It's my favorite chocolate brand ever since I tried it first. Pretty addictive but honestly I'd rather buy their chocolate over any others now.
Not gonna lie I spent the whole video in complete suspense waiting for you and Kevin to realize they were supposed to evoke KitKat, Toblerone, Twix, and Ferrero Rocher. Edge of my seat! ;-) Those looked really good btw.
I have heard people say that, but the Tony's packaging doesn't say, "comparable to ...". Honestly, we didn't think they tasted like other bars, especially the wafer one. It tasted nothing like an original Kit Kat. That being said, these are great stand-alone bars.
@@TamiDunn Tony's is not trying to copy KitKat, Twix, etc, but is trying to stipulate the difference between the Twix (or Mars) and Tony's supply-chain of chocolate. The packaging was a dead giveaway.
All of these sound delicious. Wow. I would love to buy them and they are worth the price for sure. Thanks for a wonderful. Enjoy the day and the chocolate, lol yum
Agreed! I`m in the Uk too ,but at Christmas Sainsburys gave out vouchers for a free large bar. Then they were on offer for £2,75 ,so i bought some for friends to put in their gift bags.I don`t eat chocolate ,but i still received 2 of these!LOL.One is milk chocolate ,and the other is caramel and chocolate.I was going to give them to my daughter ,then we went into lockdown.I`ll find someone who could do with a nice treat.:) Cadburys are what i send my friends in the states and Canada. They love it:)..Take care ,stay safe.xxx
The reason they do things in different sized pieces, is to show the inequality in the world according to their website. They also don’t use palm oil.

When I buy items like this, I try to think that I’m buying a $3 bar of wonderful chocolate and making a $2 donation to end unfair labor practices...

Came here to find out more about the chocolate but I just have to comment on your Scotland hoodie! Have you visited recently? .)
No, we haven't been in 4 years. The last time we visited the UK, we were only in England.

Even though it may resemble a Kit Kat, it doesn't actually taste like one.

We focus on flavor.
