    Ownership already made clear they don't want a rebuild last year when Conroy tried trading Markstrom. Conroy will need his team to be much worse before he can justify rebuilding to ownership.

    I love him as a player and the fact that he wants to stay knowing what this team is, where it is at and where it is going generally makes me say keep him. We keep seeing tear-it-down rebuilds like the Sabres, Blackhawks, etc. that demoralize the players because their getting run-over every game. BUT it also depends what the offer is. If the offer is a reclamation project like Cozens for Andersson, then hell no, keep him. But if there is some huge offer where (for example) Pettersson or someone who could be a #1C requires that Andersson is included in the trade; then, sure trade him. TLDR - Flames cannot afford to lose an Andersson trade.

    Andersen is a stud. I wouldn’t want to trade him either

      A stud that developed from the organization and wants to stay. That's all Conroy needs to know if he's asking himself if to keep him or not.

    Andersson wants to stay in Calgary and sign long term.. enough said. If he gave any indication he would like to go elsewheres done deal Conroy would accomodate him.. Andersson and Weegar are our pillars we will add great young D to our core in place..

    I like Andersson very much but if it's a matter of getting back a young asset that helps the team going forward, it's a no-brainer.

    I think they will regret this...Anderson is a great player but if they think they're going far in the playoffs ...or make the playoffs...get the assets.

      Regret what? Haveing a player drafted there, that loves playing there, hates the oilers and Canucks too lead our next generation on how to win

      @traviscameron366
      Obviously you don't understand the importance of acquiring assets...Anderson great player...but like any stock buy low sell high...

    • @CallsignJoNay
      @CallsignJoNay День назад

      @traviscameron366 We already have Weegar signed long term to teach our young D how to win. I don't think we need Anderson and Weegar to do that. I like Anderson, but he's worth more to us in a trade than as a long term signing.

      It’s not about buying low and selling high. Sign him.

    Ya let's trade Anderson just to spend the next 5 years trying to find someone to fill his role. All there teams with the "young skilled players" have to wait unto they all mature to actually contend. You need a mix of boys & men to ensure success.

    if they sign him to a long term extension it has to be another 5 or 6 years max. but probably won’t happen

    In General if you want to win you need to be above average so....if you play a player what he is worth then you are by definition at the very best Average. If you went out with 85 million and signed all free agents even at fair market value you are below average because other teams will have player who are in the rookie contracts playing like a 8 million dollar player but getting paid 1 million....that's how you win. Anderson will want market value which in 2 years may easily be 10 million. Can you afford it sure but what if you had 1 good rookie instead and you still have your 10 million to go get another free agent who is almost as good as Anderson. How can you not trade him.

      😂😝 10 million wtf you smokin give me a puff 💨 No way Conroy signs RazzleDazzle 10mill a year. He’s only worth about 5-7mill no more than that….
      Anderson has a good partner Bahl and Weegzer doesn’t have that partner but still plays like a $6.000.000 player
