Jonny, I love your content, and I love this series, but you really need to give some love to some of the Bulls from the 1970's. For Chet Walker, Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier, and Tom Boerwinkle not to get honorable mention, not ONE of them, is ridiculous. Basketball in Chicago existed before 1984. At least you have Gilmore & Love in there
This is a great video! I didn’t see the first two in the series so, now I gotta go back and watch, lol! If you do complete all 30 teams you should do some kind of tournament/fan poll to see which one wins.
Ron harper was a great scorer during his Cavs days. Averaging 20 ppg. However he sacrificed this to play defence. He should be on the team. He can defend and score if he wanted to.
I’m really curious when Johnny gets to less storied franchises, like the Wizards, Hornets, and Twolves. It’s going to be a good opportunity to learn about some old players that I don’t know about 👍
I do like the series. Series I would be even happier about will be brief history of each team, a chronological story about franchise ups and downs through the decades, of course told from the voice of my favorite youtuber ❤.
Great video Johnny Not having Luol Deng but having Derozan and Lavine is a bad move lol Rose Jordan Pippen Kukoc Gilmore Kirk Hinrich Big Ben Gordon Deng Rodman Noah Sloan Theus Walker Grant Love Starters Rodman is not in my starting lineup because lack of spacing for Rose and Jordan. Don’t get me started on the big 3 of Rose Jordan Pippen Bench Kirk is the all time Bulls 3pt leader so that’s why I have him over Kerr/Paxon. The baby bulls with Rodman is a dark horse championship team. 2007 Bulls with Kirk and Gordon beat the defending champions Miami Heat in the first round. Bob Love and Jerry Sloan have their numbers retire so they have to be in this team. I don’t know much about them so that’s why they’re on the 3rd string. As mush as I wanted to put Butler, Chet Walker gets the edge because he made more all star teams and played with Love Theus and Sloan. Grant is there for championship experience and toughness As a Bulls fan, Derozan does not deserve to be here especially over Luol Deng
Craig Hodges. Loved that guy before and during the first two championships. Among the Bulls’ best 3-point shooters you choose Kerr. Fair enough, you mention floor spacing as well. But for 3-point shooters, to me the legend is Hodges. And even between Kerr and Paxson as overall players and entitled playmakers in the Bulls the discussion is open and rightfully so. But for 3-pointers... man, Craig Hodges
Can you imagine how good Rose could have become with the guidance of Jordan? And of course without getting injured. Rose was the kind of player that the Bulls franchise would have been able to build a new dynasty around.
The only guidance that Rose would’ve needed was to be told that he needs a much more softer finishing with his moves. Just watching his landings gave me injuries.
@@Phoenix-pm2qr Jordan was already a top 5 player in the league in his rookie season. Jackson made the Bulls 6x champs, but he did not make Jordan at all. Jordan played the best season of his career (and any career, for that matter) in 1988.
Honestly it would be a better challenge if you could only pick a player once per team. Example Lebron is picked for the Cavs, but you can’t select him for the Heat. Edit : Steve Kerr over Jerry Sloan?? Idk about that.
But to be fair he is only doing it based on how well that player played during their tenure on the team. That is why Wade is not one of the player chosen.
As for the potential roster spots to honorable mentions, it depends if you plan to include duplicate entries. I saw Ron Artest listed, but when I think Ron Artest, I think Indiana Pacers. I know he won a title in LA and was hugely instrumental in that title, but he was a huge factor on those Pacer squads prior to Meta World Peace and the move. Saying that, it also brings up the Washington Wizards including Jordan in their ultimate team, even though Mike is the quintessential Bull. Interesting premises Mr. Arnett... good editing Mrs. Arnett.
A very stacked team which has solved his problems in the paint ,The A Train was awesome and Jooks had a solid career .Great defense, great scoring ,clutch plays .A nightmare for their opponents
Great video again! I love this series. I would be interested in wondering why you picked Kukoc over LaVine as they seem similar but with Zach having a higher ceiling. Also would absolutely love if at the end of this you put out a video of your top 5 ultimate teams you put together.
Because fit. Kukoc has the chemistry with many of the Bulls on this roster, and yet another athletic scoring wing type player would have been a bit much, because this squad is flooded with guys like that. At a certain point, you need spot up shooters who are great at playing off-ball, and I thought Kukoc made more sense from that perspective
Fair comment but I don't think Lavine would fit in as well as Kukoc. Kukoc earned the respect of Jordan and Pippen and knows how to play as a role player on a championship team. As much as I love Lavine, he has only been a top scorer on bad teams. For a role player spot, Kukoc is definitely the choice.
I think the better question is why Kerr over Lavine? Or Ben Gordon even. Lavine's the best outside scoring wing the bulls have ever had... right? And he's an elite slasher too
Surprised u didn’t mention Jerry Sloan. Ik I’m not that familiar with his game but he was a 2x all star with 6 all defensive selections. Or maybe instead of Ben Gordon get a better scorer and shooter in Lavine Also was thinking somehow including Luol Deng, making even the lineup more stacked defensively
Sloan might have been nice. I personally wouldn’t sub him for Gordon though, because at that point, I was more concerned with getting another 3 point shooter, rather than yet another solid defensive player
@@jonnyarnettthat’s fair but Lavine imo would’ve been the choice. Also I know these videos probably take long but it would be interesting adding a specific year- like 2011 d rose or 2022 DeRozan for example. Think it would be a cool idea but if you think that’s unnecessary then that’s fair

Thank you for the video. Still thinking on my lineup as it's very difficult to choose the bench. I really wish we could hear Phil Jackson's thoughts on what his roster build would look like.
Didn’t forget, just didn’t mention. I could have had him as an honorable mention though. The honorable mentions list honestly could have been much bigger with guys like Deng, Kirk Hinrich, Ron Harper, Bill Cartwright, Jerry Sloan, etc
This series is craxy in a good way! Out of all the teams just off the top of my head..... Bucks, celtics, bulls, Lakers, Spurs, Magic, rockets, wizards and sixers. I think if they all faced off im picking Lakers
Not a Lakers fan, but yeah, they just may have the best all-time team. Opponents just shouldn't bother going into the paint against them. It says something that their (relative) "weakness" may be a backcourt including Magic, Kobe, and West (particularly on defense).
Pretty much as expected roster. The only uncertainty for me was the starting center position, where the two standouts from my knowledge of the Bulls were Luke Longley and Joakim Noah, though I was sure there was someone more deserving than either of them (heard of Artis Gilmore, but had no team association for him). As for honourable mentions, while there are some standout names there, I don't see who they could justifiably replace from the chosen 13. This team is scary with both units and any other cobination of players. And Bucks and 76ers themselves are nothing to sneeze at. It's already very competitive.
I think it would be better if there's no duplicate players in every team. Only one team for one player. Rose MJ Pippen Rodman Gilmore Kerr Kukoc Grant Bob Love Noah Gordon Lavine BJ Armstrong REMOVE: Butler (Heat) DeRozan (Raptors)
Great video. I would have added ben wallace, Rip Hamilton ,Luol Deng Ron Haper, Tyson Chandler Kirk Hinrich Kyle Korver, Charles Oakley, Jamal Crawford & Carlos Boozer to that honorable mentions list Im a biased bulls fan lol but you argue many of them wasnt in thier primes when they was on the bulls other than Captain Kirk & Luol Deng 😆
As a Pistons fan, it's going to be a hard wait. With this series' emphasis on chemistry, and the fact that both championship eras of Pistons ball thrived on chemistry over star power, it's really tempting to just keep those groups together and roll out Bad Boys starting 5, Going to Work starting 5, then inject Hill, Bing, and Lanier for offensive boosts. But smarter basketball minds like Jonny can probably make an all-time lineup more suited for the modern era and able to more reliably produce offense without sacrificing defense.
I had the same teams as you as probable, but thinking about it, it would seem like a better suit to change Gilmore and Noah. Gilmore would be the number 1 offensive guy with the 2nd bench while Noah will provide playmaking from the high key and great defense too with more switchability, allowing the front court of the Bulls to switch absolutely everything and with 3 great help defenders. It's also worth noting how much more better the Bulls first team is than the 2nd.
I love this. I have my own list, but I did one player per team, so LeBron for example isn't on 4 different teams. Rodman = Pistons and Butler = Heat. Deroan = Raptors I have Norm Van Leir. Jerry Sloan, Chet Walker and kirk Hinrick over Kerr. Loul Deng over Gordon. I may rethink Gordon. I may need some shooting.
I like your Team - but you not have much Love for Ron Harper... ; ) He would be the most powerful PG when it comes to defense and would fit very nicely in this rooster ...
Not even listing Luol Deng as an honorable mention is crazy. I'd say let Kukoc be the backup 4 or really a combo-forward off the bench since you still have Grant, then you can have Deng as one of the deep bench guys. Also, I understand why you have Steve Kerr as the back-up PG, but really he doesn't do anything that Ben Gordon, or Zach Lavine couldn't do and both(especially Lavine) could bring more overall scoring, playmaking, size, strength etc. Gordon definitely played some mins at PG for the mid-2000s Bulls, and a lot of crunch time mins along side rookie D-Rose in 08-09.
On paper it’s terrifying but wondering if in real life they might have too many people wanting the ball in their hands. Rose facilitating MJ and helping him out on D and scoring would be a great combo

Jerry Sloan and Norm Van Lier should be included in the honorable mentions as well
I would just like to support the continuation of this series with my comment.
@Jonny, the only thing I had different was Tony Kukoc as the second unit SF. I also like John Paxon or BJ Armstrong coming off the bench.
great series
Luol Deng🤧🤧
I was convinced simply by the combo of D Rose and MJ, the rest is super OP
now thisssssss is a team, love the defense
Rose
MJ
Pippen
Rodman
Gilmore
Kerr
Kukoc
Grant
Bob Love
Noah
Gordon
Lavine
BJ Armstrong
REMOVE:
Butler (Heat)
DeRozan (Raptors)
Great video. I would have added ben wallace, Rip Hamilton ,Luol Deng Ron Haper, Tyson Chandler Kirk Hinrich Kyle Korver, Charles Oakley, Jamal Crawford & Carlos Boozer to that honorable mentions list Im a biased bulls fan lol but you argue many of them wasnt in thier primes when they was on the bulls other than Captain Kirk & Luol Deng 😆
Its awesome to see an all time team that includes both father and son
Only youtuber I never miss a video
A D-Rose MJ back Court would have been insane, they may have broken their own 72 game record.
This squad is absolutely lethal. I could see them winning against an all time lakers or Celtics team
Who else clicked on this episode knowing 4/5 starting spots? Thanks Jonny!
I did predict Artis Gilmore would be the first-team center because the Bulls haven't had any other great centers in their history.
Steve kerr over jerry Sloan is wild
3:56 why does gilmore look like bron lol!
Fax lol
Excellent series, Jonny. Speaking of defense -- can't wait to see the Pistons!
@@Rodanguirus That's my Pistons top 13 too and it will be interesting to see Jonny's expert take.
I was waiting for Ben Gordon, props!¡i¡!¡i¡!¡i¡!¡i
Jerry Sloan and Chet Walker need to be on the list.
Ron artest would have been insane on this squad
I love this.
I have my own list, but I did one player per team, so LeBron for example isn't on 4 different teams.
Rodman = Pistons and Butler = Heat. Deroan = Raptors
I have Norm Van Leir.
