Zephyr died today at 11 years old due to complications from myasthenia gravis, and was surrounded by those he held dear - his siblings, his human family, and the many wild animals with whom he shared his life.
Zephyr what a beautiful name for him for his name was as beautiful as his howl. Every day I would check him out at the Wolf Conservation Center's webcams to hear him howl and if there wasn't any that day I would listen to one from prior days or prior months or years. In those few years about half of his life I have loved every second of it. He had the best howl that I have ever heard not that I am an expert but he had such a sweet soft howl with so much meaning so much love and enthusiasm all at the same time. I will always carry him in my heart throughout my journey through Eternity for I loved him so much and one day I hope to see him again but not until it's time.
Wolves have always had a critical role in the wild ever since way back when. Very spiritual as well. The spirit of the wolf is extremely strong in cultures. This wolf is absolutely stunning. Tysm for sharing 🐾🐾

I used to live in northern Minnesota and hear this echoing across the fields when it was 25 below, no way to describe the feeling that it brings. Now I live on a boat in Florida and sometimes at night I play this on my stereo to freak out the other boaters

I learned how to realistically howl like a wolf a few years ago and I use that skill when i go camping sometimes the results scare me especially whrn someone gets it on video because its just bone chillingly scary(especially when you see my face)
when i listened to when all 50 wolves howl i heard repeat howls over and over and then i couldn't resist howling to it so i did it anyway but it was weird and fun.
