The guy they killed in the bar. Mr. "Go get your shinebox" in real life was a member of John Gotti's crew back when Gotti was a captain before he became boss. Hill left the witness protection program & returned to NYC and showed up at the Howard Stern Radio show . You can hear the interview & plain conversation between Hill & Stern on RUclips
The real Michael Franceze (you see portrayed for 2 seconds) said "Joe Pesci's depiction of Tommy was 99.9% accurate. The only difference was the real Tommy was 6'3-6'4 and 260lbs. He was terrifying, but he was a loose cannon. Loose cannons don't last long."
Henry Hill was in and out of jail and on drugs until he died. One time his kids were on Maury and he called in from the jail. He didn't get along w his kids or wife.
If you are reacting to mafia movies, you should react to Casino and American Me. These are a MUST! If you do react to American Me, keep in mind that this film is based on a true story and was responsible for the death of 11 people affiliated to the film's production, since the Mexican mafia didn't think too highly of the way certain aspects/people were portrayed.
Here’s another fun fact the real life Tommy was actually 6’ ft 6 inches and raped Henry’s wife and believe it or not was actually way more violent in real life than in the movies they actually watered him down which is crazy when you think about it.
All the mafia movies are "watered down." If they weren't, we'd literally be watching some type of crime or someone would be getting the shit beat out of them or murdered every five minutes lol. In those days, doing crimes was all the mob was about. It was their lifestyles on a daily basis. What they did/do makes the young cats in the hood look like child's play because in comparison, it is. A bunch of kids "trying to play gangster."
He was 6,2 not 6,6. And the real life Billy bats was so strong he put a knife through a guys head and nobody could pull it out of the Floor on the other side. Bats was also good friend with an up and coming John Gotti and many have suggested it was Gotti himself who took out Tommy.
I had to tell this to somebody the other day …the fact that they go through the kitchen is dope that’s one of the coolest things in this whole movie. That means you know everybody you ain’t gotta wait online and you’re going straight in to get a table …and you get to see what’s going on in the back of the house.
36:18 Jimmy gave Karen money to pay the guys who were going to whack her. He was trying to lure her into the alley so those two guys with the boxes could kidnap her, or worse, and then they would take the money off her.
The way the Italian mob works is that’s there’s a hardline between ‘made’ members & associates. ‘Made’ guys are actually in the mafia and they are untouchable by outsiders. Billy Batts was made. Meanwhile, Jimmy & Henry were ‘associates’, hang around guys, who work with the mafia, but because they weren’t 100% Italian, they couldn’t be ‘made’. Tommy was also an associate, but because he was 100% Italian, he could be ‘made’ (officially become a member of the mafia). But he kill Batts (a made guy), which isn’t allowed…so he got killed under the pretense of becoming an official member of the mafia. Jimmy was responsible for all those hits for the heist. Tommy could've gotten away with killing Billy but killing Scotty was really the nail in his coffin.
During the killing of Billy Batts, Batts had been running a protection gig that Jimmy had taken over while he was locked up. So it was about something else, too.

Black Mass with Johnny Depp is an underrated bada$$ mafia flick! Yes, the 2015 movie Black Mass is based on the true story of James "Whitey" Bulger, a violent criminal from South Boston who became an FBI informant: The movie stars Johnny Depp as Bulger, Benedict Cumberbatch as his brother Billy, and Joel Edgerton as FBI agent John Connolly. The film also stars Dakota Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Peter Sarsgaard, and Rory Cochrane. The movie is about Bulger's life, which involved drugs, violence, and murder. It also depicts how he used his position as an FBI informant to take out his rivals. Some say that the movie made minor cinematic choices to streamline the story, which would have been four or five hours long if it had stayed true to every incident. Others say that the movie captured the complicated man, and that family members of Bulger's victims thought it was an extremely accurate portrayal.
Nice reaction. It's pretty much a must to watch _Casino_ after watching _Goodfellas._ _Casino_ is also based on a true story. Looking forward to seeing what you two think of that one too.
The scene where Tommy and Jimmy is beating and killing Billy Batts the reason Jimmy was involved because Billy Batts had a loanshark business but Billy Batts went to prison so Jimmy took over his loan shark business and made it more money but when Billy Batts got out of Prison he wanted his business back but Jimmy refused to give it over so Billy was pissed so Jimmy helped Tommy kill him
Yall should watch City of God, its a Brazilian crime movie based on a true story. I feel like it would be a movie you'd both like, keep up the great movie reactions. 🙏🏾
I agree with him. Accidents with firearms happen all the time and her finger was on thst trigger, and she pulled the hammer back. The camera also showed us that it fully loaded
Being "made" doesnt mean you are the new head. It means you are a part of the family officially. Henry and jimmy were just associates. But they could never be a real "made" member because they werent 100 percent sicilian. I know that even later they changed the rules so that you at least had to have your father as an italian. They just need to trace your family back to italy. So if tommy was "made" he would most likely just be a soldier. With the possibility of one day becoming a "boss" A caporegime is a boss. Usually a family will have a few caporegimes. They are considered bosses and they get their own territory.
Tommy was killed because Billy was a made guy, in real life he was also a guy on John Gottis crew . And story i saw was Billy got out and wanted back his bookmaking business that apparently Jimmy had taken while he was in jail so he was killed over a racket not an insult.

The real Henry Hills was very different guy than the in the movie, also The real Pauly was much more violent. Henry definitely made the story look more in his favor, i’m pretty sure Henry still did illegal stuff even after he ratted, I also found it strange that you don’t see him kill one person in the movie, he admitted he killed 3 people on Howard Stern show in 2002.

Great reactions guys (I just watched your Bronx Tale one). From there maybe take another road and check out two of the most important films in cinema, Schindler's List (dealing with the Holocaust) and Saving Private Ryan (a war movie that pulls no punches depicting combat)

There's also a comedy based on Henry's life called my Blue heaven or pennies from heaven, starting Steve Martin!
Pesci said that something similar happened to him when he was a waiter in NYC.
A Classic Movie glad you 2 reacted too it. Everyone should watch this movie at least once in there Life
The scene where Tommy and Jimmy is beating and killing Billy Batts the reason Jimmy was involved because Billy Batts had a loanshark business but Billy Batts went to prison so Jimmy took over his loan shark business and made it more money but when Billy Batts got out of Prison he wanted his business back but Jimmy refused to give it over so Billy was pissed so Jimmy helped Tommy kill him
Yall should watch City of God, its a Brazilian crime movie based on a true story. I feel like it would be a movie you'd both like, keep up the great movie reactions. 🙏🏾
I agree with him. Accidents with firearms happen all the time and her finger was on thst trigger, and she pulled the hammer back. The camera also showed us that it fully loaded
I like you guys! Fun to watch.!
You guys are reacting to the classic movies & i’m loving it. 0:12
Me too!
With the possibility of one day becoming a "boss"
A caporegime is a boss. Usually a family will have a few caporegimes. They are considered bosses and they get their own territory.
This is my all-time favorite movie.
Enjoyed your reaction, thank you looking forward to more.
Tommy was killed because Billy was a made guy, in real life he was also a guy on John Gottis crew . And story i saw was Billy got out and wanted back his bookmaking business that apparently Jimmy had taken while he was in jail so he was killed over a racket not an insult.
You should watch casino next
"Road to Perdition" is a must watch gangster movie. If you two not seen it before.
Hopefully your patrons also recommend Casino and The Irishman. Pesci is mind-blowing in both.
Have they already watched casino??
Not yet
Na they watched a Bronx tale 1st
@BingeTies
Also, I would like to recommend Donnie brasco.
@@BingeTies then the next mafia movie should be either Casino or Godfather. The Godfather series is a classic, but its a little slower than Casino or Goodfellas, but these three gives a good picture of the decline of mob life... especially if you combine it with Sopranos
@@BingeTiesthe fbi agent they talked to about Witness protection was the real life agent who locked Henry up in real life. Most the real life people are deceased and some of the actors too.
Buying the most expensive Christmas tree isn't a major purchase like a mink or car
$5 Million back then is around $25 Million today (when accounting for inflation)
7:00 , the truck driver gave a head nod to Tommy and Henry,. He was in on it (Henry just mentioned that they had friends and relatives who tipped them off), walked back outside and acted all confused about the truck being stolen and then put the cops on the wrong trail by saying 2 black guys robbed the truck.
Also it's a goodfellas book basically Henry telling the story
I just barely started watching your guys videos almost a week ago and I can't stop watching your videos. You guys should react to "Blood in Blood Out"
The real Henry Hills was very different guy than the in the movie, also The real Pauly was much more violent. Henry definitely made the story look more in his favor, i’m pretty sure Henry still did illegal stuff even after he ratted, I also found it strange that you don’t see him kill one person in the movie, he admitted he killed 3 people on Howard Stern show in 2002.
Watching you two fight was amazing 😍
You gotta watch green book!!! It’s based on a true story and an unbelievable movie.
Another great review.. it hit better cuz yall from NY. Shout out lil Clarence and Manda
Y’all should react to “Carlitos way”. It’s another movie that takes place in New York. And part 2 called “Carlitos way- rise to power” they both take place in New York. Another good movie that takes place in New York is “Empire”
Great reactions guys (I just watched your Bronx Tale one). Since you seem to be on a mob movie journey I would suggest The Godfather and The Godfather part II (from the acting, sets and storyline considered two of the best films ever made).
From there maybe take another road and check out two of the most important films in cinema, Schindler's List (dealing with the Holocaust) and Saving Private Ryan (a war movie that pulls no punches depicting combat)
Great couples movie. You will both love this one.
Many of these actors in Bronx Tale, Casino and the TV show Sopranos! RIP to the great Ray Liotta. Henry. There's also a comedy based on Henry's life called my Blue heaven or pennies from heaven, starting Steve Martin! Ray was also in Field of Dreams, and other great movies, a movie about a serial killer, a deranged stalker cop, and a great comedy with Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer love Hewitt called, Heartbreakers! Watch the kid Henry meets with slicked back hair... he's the teen friend in , a Bronx Tale!
Pro tip, young Samuel Jackson in this! The , I'm funny, scene...pesci saw something like this happen as a kid. He takes it to director scorscese, they addlibbed it a bit, then put it in the scene without telling the other actors, that's why everybody gets so silent! Pauly plays a good but small mob part at the end of the great Tom Cruise mob movie, The Firm! The comedian was real, a guy named Henny Youngman, king of the 1 liners!
It’s funny seeing y’all reaction to Samuel Jackson bein in the movie… FUN FACT: He’s in EVERYTHING 😂😂😂😂
Casino next
He was young in 50s yall, yous saw 1963 and was like oh he was kid in the 70s which was the future in that time lol
You guys seemed really confused why they were randomly breaking peoples car windows and shit when they were kids. It's actually quite simple and one of the oldest gigs in the racket... They break all the windows so Paulie can come through the neighborhood a couple days later and say "Well gee wiz... Looks like you've had some destruction on the block... I could offer you some protection... For a price". They were basically just setting up an extortion racket!
