Enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting and sharing your thoughts; I couldn't agree with you more. My last flight out of Mumbai was with Emirates and well.... there's just no comparison. I LOVE EMIRATES!!! Cheers!
I’ve flown the leased DL 777-200LR a few times now from SFO to India. Boy, when they came in they were such an upgrade over the legacy 777-200LRs (VT-ALF,G,H). Within a year, AI has successfully broken seats, destroyed the IFEs and damaged the toilets. However the flight maps work ! This is not being fixed till stupid AIESL is replaced by a Tata based MRO facility, so only when Vistara gets merged we might see some better cabin maintainence.
Paying $ 10000 and then seeing taped damaged sliding doors, business class mattress, average amenity kit, just above average food, no flight map so on and so forth! Air India failed to meet high standards. That’s my conclusion
It looks Air India’s “new planes” are former Delta and Etihad carriers. This first class is exactly what Etihad used to have. The Air India I flew was a former Delta flight.
yeh thats true. But honestly I've seen Air India's first class seats on their 777 and i dont know what you think, but i'm glad I flew the old Etihad first class knowing the state of their own first class seats. What do you think ?
@@inflighttravel5304 Yeah you definitely got lucky as these old Etihad 777s(first and business) were considered one of the best in the world early 2000s. I think Air India first class is similar to other European/American carriers but the thing is horrible maintenance, broken interior and etc kills the whole vibe of the flight. But they’re improving as Tata took over again, but people don’t remember that Tata’s Air India in the 1970s up till late 80s was considered “the best airline” in the world . They witness a pathetic decline when India introduced Economic reforms. Hopefully Air India is on its recovery phase from its massive glow down over time
The side tables where the IFE controls were of very cheap quality and edge protectors were all scratched and worn. Needs a full scale overhaul. The food looked just about okay, but nothing to write home about. Good luck Air India.
Guys firstly Airindia had been going through many financial crises when it was under indian Govt and many of its B787-8 dreamliners are Grounded due to it's Engine glitch one can notice these Aircrafts in Csmt private Terminal with 787-8 Engines dismantled and before when Air india was under Govt they had poor maintance, so after Tata acquired Air india they are trying their level best to bring It's legacy and Brand value so let's us wait patiently and support Airindia ❤Jai Hind❤
Thank you for uploading the video. Impressive details and candid evaluation. Positive endorsement when merited, and assertive critique without any agenda. I'm traveling EWR to Mumbai non-stop this week in the first class and this video helps set the expectations. Not sure if I missed it but was there WiFi on the flight? Looking forward to the new fleet and over howl of the interior of the existing fleet.
13:00 They jave working games and floght maps and cameras on their new A350s I have travelled arounds 6 times in them all the times they work working Just a small correction 😅
$10K price tag for this?? Sheesh! That's a lot compared to other first classes I have taken (Air France Premier, SIA First, Emirates, etc.). AI also flies first class on the Toronto-Delhi route in Etihad’s planes 777-300. I was lucky to grab this deal, paying only 126k Aeroplan points, so technically, I paid nothing.
I flew the same sector business recently, and can see there's very little difference...only little bigger seats and passenger area. Rest all look same.
I have an emotional connection with air India because my dad and father in law were both flight pursers for 25 plus years with the airline but I’d be waiting two more years before flying them. Gives them enough time to finish their refurb, get their new aircraft and iron out their processes. I just wish they didn’t have such a terrible exterior livery. Doesn’t tell me anything about the airline’s history and the design on the tail looks like rolls of gift wrapping paper lined up together
Wife was in a business class seat from yyz to del. Similar crappy service and experience. Hopefully AI gets it's act together otherwise I'll just give my money to etihad/ emirates.😢
Unless someone else, like a corporation is buying the $10k ticket, it's not worth flying broken disfunctional Air India first. 10K will get 1st tickets in Airlines like Emirates or Delta and those are excellent products.
I frequently travel on Air India since long. Needless to say the ONLY problem in this erstwhile “Maharajah” of aviation is an aging fleet. The hospitality has always been good, but never as exemplary as its rivals like Emirates, Qatar or Singapore Airlines. Time will change this as rampant political meddling had brought this the infamous title of “White Elephant”.
The new First Class on the A350s will be a downgrade from these ex-Etihad 777s in terms of hard product seating... they will be Business+ seats at best... same hard product as the A350 Business seats. So yeah. Sad.
Thanks for your comment! Yeah, I really want to try air india's newest A350 Business Class with sliding doors to get a personal feel for it because it looks quite promising. And I had no idea Air India was going to keep a First Class on their A350s, so thanks for the heads up!
It really feels like a first class when you are there but with the current business class evolution of many airlines like the q suite on Qatar airways for example, I understand that this kind of seat is becoming what you expect on a business class seat. But honestly for an airline like AIR INDIA that has been criticised a lot recently for its lack of service, I’m quite pleased with my experience. But thank you for sharing ur POV !
$10,000 translates to roughly Rs 769,300 for a single first class seat . . . a MG Comet 2-Dr Micro EV costs less than that . . . had it been Qatar Airways first class or Lufthansa first class the exorbitant $10,000 first class ticket price would still make some sense if not entirely . . . but not Air India even in it's new guise . . .
The worst airline in the world. I travelled from Melbourne to Cochin via Mumbai (business). There is no entertainment system on VT-ANG. Basic meals in business class (not as per the menu on the Air India website) Checked in baggage missed and delivered to home the next day. (Travel insurance is mandatory when travelling with Air ndia.) Bom to Melbourne (Economy) The staff attitude is extremely horrible in economy class. Meals do not match the Air India website menu. Most of the seats are damaged on 787 aircraft. Overall 2/10. I think Tata Group will soon go bankrupt because of this company.
It seems that nowadays, anyone becomes a flight reviewer 😂! I will tell you why - 1) There is a separate premium security and immigration for First and Business Class passengers at Mumbai. You have to go to the right most side of the terminal for it. There are several signs mentioning it. 2) I have taken this exact route and they do provide chauffeur type service. I think the person on the desk forgot to mention it. For me, they actually came first to my connecting flight and helped me through check-in for the international flight, all the way to the gate. When I landed in JFK, there was chauffeur type service again. Overall, I recommend next time gather some background of the flight and the airport before you fly. It will prepare you better before missing out critical details.
Through credit card points, 10K is not something I can afford. Luckily, through the help of maximizing credit card points I was able to fly this route.
I Love When Air Craft Have Exterior Camera.Great Trip Report
thanks a lot !

I enjoyed the video very much. I really liked your voice over as you are crisp and to-the-point. Keep the good work!
thank you Sudhir for your comment ! Glad you enjoyed this video !
Gratitude. Great video!!!
thank you !
The flight maps and stuff do work on their A350s. I’ve been onboard them.
Paying $ 10000 and then seeing taped damaged sliding doors, business class mattress, average amenity kit, just above average food, no flight map so on and so forth! Air India failed to meet high standards. That’s my conclusion
But it's not Air India's cabin either
yeh it's an old Etihad 777
I think it’s an exaggeration probably around $8000 which is a huge difference
It looks Air India’s “new planes” are former Delta and Etihad carriers. This first class is exactly what Etihad used to have.

Great video. Very insightful. Glad to see Air India is accelerating its recovery.

Good trip report

Awesome video! Air India has really stepped up their game!
U joking???😅
Did they offer any non-chicken non-veg options?
Thank you for uploading the video. Impressive details and candid evaluation. Positive endorsement when merited, and assertive critique without any agenda.

thank you for your comment! Unfortunately there was no wifi on this flight. I hope you have a safe and great flight, enjoy it as much as you can !
13:00 Air India does have maps
They forgot to load the First Class Bedding? Also, on the old website, it showed they had lobster on American flights.
Hey, are all the Mumbai - JFK air India flights by Etihad currently? I’m looking to book a business class but don’t want their old fleet experience
Yes, they are all on Etihad's planes.
13:00 They jave working games and floght maps and cameras on their new A350s
I have travelled arounds 6 times in them all the times they work working
Just a small correction 😅
Looks better than United Airlines business class.
not really! UA’s Polaris business is fantastic product, except the food sucks.
You were not served dinner, just fruits? That is surprising.
Forget Emirates or Qatar. Air-India needs to catch up with Vistara and Indigo first.
$10K price tag for this?? Sheesh! That's a lot compared to other first classes I have taken (Air France Premier, SIA First, Emirates, etc.).

“so deal with it” lmao 😭😭
I flew the same sector business recently, and can see there's very little difference...only little bigger seats and passenger area. Rest all look same.
headphones never saw the day of light!!!
03:23 - Nothing as 300 LR's. They're ER's. Possibly a slip.
Oh yes my bad thank you for the correction !

Great to hear ! thanks a lot for this comment and for sharing your opinion. But I also believe that their new livery isn't the best.
Wife was in a business class seat from yyz to del. Similar crappy service and experience. Hopefully AI gets it's act together otherwise I'll just give my money to etihad/ emirates.😢
Great report !
thank you so much !
Bombay to LAX dude bro? from Bombay to ?
Bombay to New york
The seat was only good because it is an ex-Etihad 777 😂😂

I would be asking for refund
Etihad leased plane its there first class
Yeh that’s right !
Amazing & Informative Video..Much Love @csmia.spotter 🙌
Thank you for your feedbacks i appreciate it !
Have you copied the script and just get it in the chat gpt to add some amazing vocabulary in your script and just teleprompted it, am i right
No I actually write my own scripts but I do use chat GPT to get extra informations about the airline. thank you for asking tho !
My friend you got riped off. I paid way less with other airlines with better seat.
The interior look same etihad
This used to be a Etihad plane before Air India leased it.
The horrible and pathetic airlines I have ever been thru
Worst service by the crew ,wrong info given on the website about the seats
So basically your paying for privacy thats it everything else is business class
It really feels like a first class when you are there but with the current business class evolution of many airlines like the q suite on Qatar airways for example, I understand that this kind of seat is becoming what you expect on a business class seat. Who gives earphones in first class? Only a miserable airline called Air India. World class airlines give noise cancellation headphones.

Bro you are so young, how do you accumulate so much money to fly first class!
Through credit card points, 10K is not something I can afford. Luckily, through the help of maximizing credit card points I was able to fly this route.
Are you jealous bro? Young gen is smart and rich if they know where to tap
lo nin amman
air india is horrible, let's be honest
Air india is wrost airline
