Sorry you had so much trouble but glad you got it fixed. Glad to see their customer service pulled through again. They have excellent customer service from my experience.
Since the wheel is out of true only at one point, this should be a quick fix. Get a spoke wrench. Use a marker held perpendicular to the rim so you can isolate exactly where the highest spot is (spot where it touches your zip tie). Loosen the spoke on that side about a half turn and tighten the spoke on the other side of the wheel the same amount. Then do the same thing, but less of a loosening and tightening, to the next spokes to either side of the spokes closest to the spokes at the high spot. Then recheck to see if the blip has gotten better, and repeat if necessary. Since this bike has disc brakes instead of rim brakes, it isn't that crucial to get it perfect. Might also want to check at the edge/bead of the wheel to make sure the rim isn't out-of-round, since that can give a really annoying up and down bobbing of the wheel.. That repair I'd have done at a bike shop, since it is a pain in the neck without a truing jig. Good luck !
I was skeptical that your reviews could continue to be honest since you're 2nd XP was given to you.....I am happy to say that you still seem to be telling it like it is. Thank you!
I've built three of these bikes using 27.5 frames and the Pasion kit. All three have the delay up and down on the speedo. I think that's designed in so the speedo isn't constantly jumping between adjacent numbers, probably an algo that brackets a speed range of 2-3MPH or so and gives you an average and renders a smooth reading. Interestingly, my third build had the same issue as yours with the speedo. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and when it worked it read low, even though I had the correct wheel size programmed. All other functions are normal, such as amp draw and assist and ability to change all settings. Must be a glitch on some of these during manufacturing.

I have a eAhora X5 Pro 4.0 Fat Tire and had the same problem after 26 miles , the white wire is hook to a Unipolar Hall-Effect Digital Switch and is your speedometer hall sensor. The other 3 hall sensors blue yellow and green are for the motor and controller. eAhora has no real support so i had to buy and install a new hall sensor 43F part number from china there around $1.00 a pcs
Hi, I'm writing to ask for help, since I see that you are always repairing your bicycles. I bought a MATE X250 and it has suddenly died and has not been turned on again. what would be your opinion about it? should I check the battery? or must it be a central system problem? i hope to hear from you soon best regards from Germany!!!
I would try to check the voltage on the battery to see if it is charged and if it has a good voltage you may have a loose connection on one of the wires somewhere?
On some cars the speed sensor ring is actually part of the hub assembly. Perhaps the speed sensor is actually in the hub of this bike too. Possibly within the motor housing. That would explain why changing the rear motor fixed the problem.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I would bet that the pas levels get their signals from the magnetic ring around the bottom bracket/crank. I believe it's called the cadence sensor or something like that.
Do you still have the old/new rear wheel that got damaged in shipping? I have the same bike I'm trying to diagnose a problem on, "error 30". Replaced battery and display, PAS sensor is adjusted perfectly. Either wiring harness, controller or motor at this point
No I do not. I would unplug and replug all your connections even if they look plugged in they might not be getting good connection. If it’s not that it might be your controller.
Besides adding gaffer tape to cover/pad the spoke nuts, I added 4x29 liners to both the front & rear wheels to prevent flats (been there) to the paper thin tires.. I 'slimed' the tubes, also.. The tight rear frame to the tire is also a bummer.. I use a cut to size closet pole w/a tapered end to spread the frame (after tapping in place), as using a screw driver to force the wheel into/out of place is a no-no in my humble opinion. Over time, tightening the spokes to prevent that 'clacking noise' will also be needed.
I’ve had the rear wheel off on the Xp twice now and haven’t had a problem by hand but some frames may be tighter than mine. Also over 300 miles and haven’t had a flat and no slime or liners in my tires but did think about maybe getting liners.
@@JeremiahMcintosh In the past I looked at your wide handle bar link on Amazon, but I don't think it was correct.. Hopefully, it was you who made that post.. LOL!
FedEx is probably using the lowest shipping rate that they offer. This is a 65lb. box that doesn’t cost us anything in the purchase price. I’d rather be charged something, then to keep these packages from being mangled during delivery. Also, I would send the bent rim back to Lectric.
Interesting. I'm having a similar issue but it does appear to be behaving a little differently than you. Still speedometer problems, but the display will randomly show really high speeds (like 62.0 mph) which makes the speed limiter kick in and the bike will not accelerate. I have emailed a bit with Lectric so far but I'm hoping the fix is pretty easy. This is a brand new bike having this issue too... Love the bike otherwise and the other Lectric bike we got is working fine.
I have the same problem, unfortunately for me my bike is out of warranty, I have an addmotor, in my opinion when the problem is the heart of the bike they should step up and fix it!
We had a lot of trouble with changing the rear tire just getting the rear wheel off - how did you hold the rear fork apart? It looked like you just pulled the tire out easily.
A guy on another RUclips channel made a simple tool to slightly spread the chain stays of his Letric bike so he could easily remove the rear wheel. He got a 5 inch turnbuckle from Lowes, and put two rubber crutch feet on the ends, (from Wal-Mart) and placed it through the wheel between the spokes and the chain stays. He then turned the turnbuckle a couple of times to spread the chain stays slightly until the wheel would slip out. He had the bike upside down by the way.
Was your bike under warranty? Or did they send you a new wheel because of your RUclips channel? I love my XP and if they treat every bike owner the way they treated you, not only is the XP and great bike but the company would be outstanding!!!!

I sure have a lot to learn about bikes and the lectric. I'm in my late 50's and don't know a thing about bicycle mechanics, but ordered the Lectric Step Through. While I'm waiting for mine to arrive I have been devouring a bunch of RUclips videos, in hopes that I can prepare myself to properly maintain, and troubleshoot issues that might arise. Thanks so much for your content ‼️
Love the videos Jeremiah, you really helped me deicide to get this eBike over the rest in the eBike market. Mine came in today and I got to ride it in the afternoon, I'm amazed how incredible this bike is. One issue I'm encountering is the handle bars tend to jerk side to side when hitting small bumps, any suggestions on how to fix that? Thanks!
Jeremiah Mcintosh I couldn’t tighten the handle bar with my bare hands but I used a hex wrench. Haven’t test drive it yet. I would have to look into the safety latch and see if that is also loose. Thanks!
fedex is hurting xp...they delivered my bike upside down even though the box clearly stated which side was up. several corners of the box were torn almost from top to bottom and when i flipped the box over to correct position, one of the top was torn almost completely open. they left the box on the edge of my porch to were anyone coming by could easily see it and luckily i was home and got notice it was delivered a few minutes after. fedex never knocked or rand doorbell to let me know it was delivered. if i were lectric, i would be complaining about all the damages they are causing. fedex has become such a horrible delivery service. they put my bike on truck to deliver, only to return because the box "needed tape" was the excuse fedex gave lectric and my bike was delayed an extra day. the bike did not need tape where it was applied. they didnt even try to tape the areas that were actually damaged. pretty stupid excuse in my opinion. fedex is costing lectric too much money for the damages they are causing.
@@JeremiahMcintosh glad to see that your issue was fixed, just too bad fedex damaged the first one. hope xp are able to recoup those costs of damages caused by fedex. fedex clearly doesnt care one bit.

FYI or anyone wants to know. I called Lectric about my error code E007. Defective motor. They will ship me another one under warranty. They will also reimbursed the labor up to $60 dollars if you have a shop do the service. Will also pay to ship back the defective part. Wow didn’t expect such good service. Nice Video! I am glad that fixed it! How many miles do you have on your bike now? I got mine August 5th and have about 140 on it now. I watch your videos and did the freewheel swap which definitely makes a difference. Did you also swap over your freewheel with the 11-28 when you put the new motor and wheel?
I’ve had my first e-bike since early march it’s never worked it’s a T42 fat tyre I’ve had to keep sending emails of videos backwards & forwards don’t think I would ever buy bike on line again I’m retired so thought it would help me go visit people but so disappointed with all the B/S no bike shop will help cos of warranty
So....do you know what was the failing component for the Speed sensor. I really don’t want to buy a new motor if it’s only the speed/odometer display that is not working. Can It be fixed? What was the problem?
Yes from my understanding the hall sensor inside the motor was bad which caused the erratic speedometer display. Every other function on the bike worked perfectly and I would have just lived with it if it wasn’t under warranty but being that it was still under warranty they sent me a new motor. Are you having problems with yours and is your bike still under warranty?
No more warranty. Maybe this week I will test the voltage through the hall sensors. Maybe I could fix it. I enjoy your videos very helpful. And thank you for clarifying your failure. Keep it up
Jeremiah Mcintosh They should have a code for Mcintosh. ( like the apple) Lol Free bag. 👍 Maybe i should start the wheel rolling by contacting Letric and hinting that. Thanking you from Canada
I guess I know what I'll be doing next week because my speedometer still is not working from 0 to 62 mph if I unplug the speedometer single wire it works perfectly fine other than the odometer and the speed staying zero
If I leave it plugged in the bike will work normally and speedometer reading 00, once in a great while the speedometer will read regular speed for a moment then pegs to 62 mph, when it does this the bike won't send power to motor till speedometer goes back to zero in a second or two. If I have the bike parked and manually plug, unplug sensor in rythm, (at the controller) the controller acts normally as if the wheel sensor is adding pulses. If I leave it unplugged, the bike works perfectly but does not show speed or odometer working, so that is my fix untill I get a response from lectric on how to proceed forward. Just happy there was no shipping damage
That’s strange. I’ve heard of this happening when people try to hook a more powerful light up and it burns something out in the controller keeping the light stuck on that’s the only time I’ve heard of it happening.

if lectric arent able to recoup the costs associated with the replacement parts they have to send out due to fedex damaging the bikes they deliver, they should sue them. its not fair for lectric to replace parts caused by fedex damages...granted its great that they do and as a company they should, but fedex should have to pay for the damages they caused.
I pray Lectric XP in the future updates or add new carrier services like UPS or USPS .... FedEx just isn't good for delivering stuff like ebikes .... I'll feel alot safer with UPS carrying it instead ...plus it will be to your destination alot quicker .......great video

My first display-control filled up with water, I mean filled in the rain, Lectric had me check the controller when the new display arrived. The speedometer delay is caused by the number of hall effect sensors in the wheel. To calculate the speed, the sensors need to pick up several signals. Then the processor needs to make the calculation. The tiny computer on board does not have a auper high speed processor. The delay should be expected. Embedding a faster processor, would likely put the cost, out of reach for most consumers. No big deal, as it doesn't affect safety in any way. It's great you have it working again! Just use a spoke wrench to round out the wheel, and you'll be golden! ☝️😏

I chose Lectric XP after researching E-Bike on RUclips. Your vids are what sold me bro. I'm not disappointed. You n yours have a safe, enjoyable Labor Day Weekend. I think I'll XP on down to Santa Monica n Venus Beach. ⛱️
Awesome! Enjoy… sounds like a fun weekend!
You got two new motor and wheels. Lucky you
Thank you. Lots of good advice. Did you change your free wheel or cassette?
Yes I have the 11-28 on
I think the problem was Just an odometer magnet out of Its position in the rear wheel (inside the motor)...no need to change the whole motor
Just curious if you did anything with the slight bend in the rim? 10:06 🤔
Hi, I'm writing to ask for help, since I see that you are always repairing your bicycles.
I bought a MATE X250 and it has suddenly died and has not been turned on again.
what would be your opinion about it?
should I check the battery? or must it be a central system problem?
i hope to hear from you soon
best regards from Germany!!!
I would try to check the voltage on the battery to see if it is charged and if it has a good voltage you may have a loose connection on one of the wires somewhere?
Good video thanks, im going to be getting one soon so im doing as much research as i can 👍.
On some cars the speed sensor ring is actually part of the hub assembly. Perhaps the speed sensor is actually in the hub of this bike too. Possibly within the motor housing. That would explain why changing the rear motor fixed the problem.
Yes but what doesn’t make sense to me is that everything else that uses speed such as pas levels still worked perfectly?
@@JeremiahMcintosh I would bet that the pas levels get their signals from the magnetic ring around the bottom bracket/crank. I believe it's called the cadence sensor or something like that.
Do you still have the old/new rear wheel that got damaged in shipping? I have the same bike I'm trying to diagnose a problem on, "error 30". Replaced battery and display, PAS sensor is adjusted perfectly. Either wiring harness, controller or motor at this point
No I do not. I would unplug and replug all your connections even if they look plugged in they might not be getting good connection. If it’s not that it might be your controller.
did you need a fork spreader? is the axle bolt 18mm?
@@JeremiahMcintosh The rear tire was taken out by a 1/16th thorn here in Las Vegas. Of course, you only have to worry about acorns, LOL!
Lol I’m glad we don’t have goat heads here!
@@JeremiahMcintosh In the past I looked at your wide handle bar link on Amazon, but I don't think it was correct.. Hopefully, it was you who made that post.. LOL!
Nope. I’ve never put a link for wider handlebars because i haven’t upgraded them yet.
FedEx is probably using the lowest shipping rate that they offer. This is a 65lb. box that doesn’t cost us anything in the purchase price. I’d rather be charged something, then to keep these packages from being mangled during delivery. Also, I would send the bent rim back to Lectric.
did you have to return the defective motors for them to dissect the issue and avoid future problems.
Yes
Interesting. I'm having a similar issue but it does appear to be behaving a little differently than you. Still speedometer problems, but the display will randomly show really high speeds (like 62.0 mph) which makes the speed limiter kick in and the bike will not accelerate. I have emailed a bit with Lectric so far but I'm hoping the fix is pretty easy. This is a brand new bike having this issue too... Love the bike otherwise and the other Lectric bike we got is working fine.
Hmm alike maybe a different issue than mine because mine never limited when is wasn’t supposed to.
Any update on this?
I have the same problem, unfortunately for me my bike is out of warranty, I have an addmotor, in my opinion when the problem is the heart of the bike they should step up and fix it!
Jeez they really need to hire someone who knows how to pack stuff. Too many videos with issues on their shipping.
Part of it is fed ex’s fault.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I worked at FedEx over the holidays and I was horrified the way they treat packages.
We had a lot of trouble with changing the rear tire just getting the rear wheel off - how did you hold the rear fork apart? It looked like you just pulled the tire out easily.
I pulled apart with both arms while pushing the wheel out with my thumbs.
Have u still got any wheel.for sale please
Was your bike under warranty? Or did they send you a new wheel because of your RUclips channel? I love my XP and if they treat every bike owner the way they treated you, not only is the XP and great bike but the company would be outstanding!!!!
Yes it was still under the one year warranty!

Totally agree!
Thanks so much for your content ‼️
mine is not working at all, how can that be ? i give gas but no speed shows up. 2000w hub wheel. 52 v batt. nc81f display
Thanks!
Did you double check and make sure everything is tight? Also make sure the safety latch is in the locked position on the stem.
Mine was delivered sideways As well!

I’ve actually had the new part for a few weeks I have just not had time to install it. Everything else was still working so I was still out riding having fun until the swap.
When they shipped you the new wheel, Did you have to pay for shipping back the defective one? Or did they have a return label for you? I have an error code E007 on mine. Bad motor.
They supply a return shipping label. Make sure you check all your connections really well down by the motor to make sure they did not come loose.

Nice Video! I am glad that fixed it! How many miles do you have on your bike now? I got mine August 5th and have about 140 on it now. I watch your videos and did the freewheel swap which definitely makes a difference. Did you also swap over your freewheel with the 11-28 when you put the new motor and wheel?
Yes I put the 11-28 back on and the odometer on mine is over 300 but I’m sure it’s more like 350.

So....do you know what was the failing component for the Speed sensor. I really don’t want to buy a new motor if it’s only the speed/odometer display that is not working. Can It be fixed? What was the problem?
Did you see my video where I fixed it?
You replaced the motor?
Yes from my understanding the hall sensor inside the motor was bad which caused the erratic speedometer display. Every other function on the bike worked perfectly and I would have just lived with it if it wasn’t under warranty but being that it was still under warranty they sent me a new motor. Are you having problems with yours and is your bike still under warranty?
No more warranty. Maybe this week I will test the voltage through the hall sensors. Maybe I could fix it. I enjoy your videos very helpful. And thank you for clarifying your failure. Keep it up
Thank you. I hope you get it fixed.
I noticed my front rotor flexes when you hold the brake down but the rear is stationary , is the fix the bolts or is it the placement of the rotor ?

I agree! Thanks 🙏
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thanks, I will mention your name because you have been a big help.
I guess I know what I'll be doing next week because my speedometer still is not working from 0 to 62 mph if I unplug the speedometer single wire it works perfectly fine other than the odometer and the speed staying zero
When it’s plugged in does the bike still work a normal the same as when unplugged? Why unplug it?
That delay is so odd! Neither my bike or the other local bike I see have that on takeoff or stop.

No problem. I will check the connections by the handlebars maybe one of them came loose.
so this sounds like the haul sensor in the motor is bad.
Yep that’s what it was but I was surprised everything else still worked correctly. Nothing uses the speed sensor other than the speedometer and odometer.? All pas levels still maintained the correct speed and max speed still cut out the same.
One has to wonder if any damage was done when you swapped out the freewheel?
Highly unlikely

if lectric arent able to recoup the costs associated with the replacement parts they have to send out due to fedex damaging the bikes they deliver, they should sue them. its not fair for lectric to replace parts caused by fedex damages...granted its great that they do and as a company they should, but fedex should have to pay for the damages they caused.

marvin penick they sent new controller still did not work . Finally they said it was my rear wheel . So they sent new one . All works now .
Their lack of packing materials is disturbing. And now you have a messed up wheel to fix your speedometer issue 😟
On this occasion yes but the bikes are actually packaged really well!
Thanks I tried but when I loosen the spoke by the bent part of the rim it just stays the same way because the rim is bent then that spoke is loose.
@@JeremiahMcintosh tighten the 2 opposing spokes to pull the bend back

Okay so you put a rear wheel on the bike and it's not true. Plus you indicated it was the third wheel sent by them so to me that's a quality control issue. That would be a red flag for me not to get this bike.
