    I must have looked at 100 electric bike videos. By far, yours are the most engaging and informative. I am going to order the Lectric step thru because of your clear product differentiators - especially the 2” lower crankcase. I also appreciated seeing how Lectric stood behind its product and quickly sent you the replacement entire assembly. I also enjoyed your accessories and upgrade suggestions which will make my bike better for me ..... like the extended handle bar to affix various things to it, the shock absorbing seat post, hydrologic brake calipers, etc. I also appreciate your folksy and friendly manner of presentation. And the fact you get right to the point without a lot of BS. Thanks!

    It looks like you need to true up your rear wheel using a spoke wrench. I opted to get the Park Tool SW-3 (blue) for my XP. The size is 3.96 mm.

    jeremiah that you for your video, I purchased an lectric bike for my wife. It has been nothing but trouble from the very beginning. I had the same issue that you had last year. The speedometer was all over the place and would stop and go. My wife was afraid to ride bike. I will say that the lectric bike folks were very good about all the issues. However I went through 3 different replacement parts before they sent a entire new rear hub and wheel assembly. your video helped me a lot to install the rear hub... Thank you Wayne

    Since the wheel is out of true only at one point, this should be a quick fix. Get a spoke wrench. Use a marker held perpendicular to the rim so you can isolate exactly where the highest spot is (spot where it touches your zip tie). Loosen the spoke on that side about a half turn and tighten the spoke on the other side of the wheel the same amount. Then do the same thing, but less of a loosening and tightening, to the next spokes to either side of the spokes closest to the spokes at the high spot. Then recheck to see if the blip has gotten better, and repeat if necessary. Since this bike has disc brakes instead of rim brakes, it isn't that crucial to get it perfect. Might also want to check at the edge/bead of the wheel to make sure the rim isn't out-of-round, since that can give a really annoying up and down bobbing of the wheel.. That repair I'd have done at a bike shop, since it is a pain in the neck without a truing jig. Good luck !

    I've built three of these bikes using 27.5 frames and the Pasion kit. All three have the delay up and down on the speedo. I think that's designed in so the speedo isn't constantly jumping between adjacent numbers, probably an algo that brackets a speed range of 2-3MPH or so and gives you an average and renders a smooth reading. Interestingly, my third build had the same issue as yours with the speedo. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and when it worked it read low, even though I had the correct wheel size programmed. All other functions are normal, such as amp draw and assist and ability to change all settings. Must be a glitch on some of these during manufacturing.

    Jeremiah, since you seem to have some influence with Lectric eBikes, would it be possible, if you agree, to suggest to them to create a replacement tail light that also brightens when you use the hand brakes to stop like on a regular vehicle brake light? To indicate to people behind that you are coming to a stop.
    My issue is I live in small town and ride my bikes everywhere And follow the road rules and stop at all stop signs. Yet the vehicles on the road get mad and try and pass me in left lane when I stop at stop signs. I've almost been hit 3 times in the past year of living here by vehicles just because I choose to follow road rules since I am using my bikes on the road like a vehicle. It would be nice to have to tail light brighten to indicate that I am stopping at the stop sign and not blowing through it like the others who choose to do so that ride bikes in my city.
    I've sent an email to Lectric with this suggestion, but thought they may take it more into consideration if someone like yourself (if you agree...if not I understand) to also make said suggestion. I would make it easier than having an extra added light to do the same since the tail light is integrated into the system already.

    Besides adding gaffer tape to cover/pad the spoke nuts, I added 4x29 liners to both the front & rear wheels to prevent flats (been there) to the paper thin tires.. I 'slimed' the tubes, also..
    The tight rear frame to the tire is also a bummer.. I use a cut to size closet pole w/a tapered end to spread the frame (after tapping in place), as using a screw driver to force the wheel into/out of place is a no-no in my humble opinion. Over time, tightening the spokes to prevent that 'clacking noise' will also be needed.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh

      When it’s plugged in does the bike still work a normal the same as when unplugged? Why unplug it?

    • @aaronseely2710
      @aaronseely2710 4 года назад +2

      If I leave it plugged in the bike will work normally and speedometer reading 00, once in a great while the speedometer will read regular speed for a moment then pegs to 62 mph, when it does this the bike won't send power to motor till speedometer goes back to zero in a second or two. If I have the bike parked and manually plug, unplug sensor in rythm, (at the controller) the controller acts normally as if the wheel sensor is adding pulses. If I leave it unplugged, the bike works perfectly but does not show speed or odometer working, so that is my fix untill I get a response from lectric on how to proceed forward. Just happy there was no shipping damage

  • @MarkLoves2Fly
    @MarkLoves2Fly 4 года назад

    The speedometer delay is caused by the number of hall effect sensors in the wheel. To calculate the speed, the sensors need to pick up several signals. Then the processor needs to make the calculation. The tiny computer on board does not have a auper high speed processor. The delay should be expected. Embedding a faster processor, would likely put the cost, out of reach for most consumers. No big deal, as it doesn't affect safety in any way.
