I think he thought that Piastri would give him more room, but Piastri actually left him plenty of room and would have ended up off the track himself had he gone any wider. Also, Piastri isn't a pushover. There was no "gap to overtake Oscar" at any point. Despite his claims otherwise, Max barely got to the halfway point of Oscar's car and in doing so, was going too fast to slow down. I agree that it wasn't premeditated, it was just a desperate lunge that was bound to fail, but Max should have known better.
I dont know why lewis got a extra parking spot next to the top 3 while Bottas and Kmag didnt get a Farewell. He only switched teams ffs. Edit: Some missed the point. Traditionally only the drivers who retire are allowed to park next to the top 3 for a fairwell.

For the record, the pit-lane is considered part of the racing surface. Unless there is an overriding directive, overtaking in the pit lane is legal. In the case of Abu-Dhabi, issues arising from a former entrance to an underground shopping centre being repurposed as a pit-exit means the race director must restrict overtakes there. Like all things in the UAE, buying a fast-pass would likely have allowed the possessor to breeze by fellow drivers who would need to wait for the just out of sight M&S car-park barrier to lift.
The whole special celebration for Lewis after the race doesn't at all give the impression of favoritism does it...? For f***** sake he's just switching teams...

Doriane is a lot more than a driver who forgot a chequered flag, she's an endurance racing prodigy in WEC and Hirakawa is not someone we don't know, hes a 2 time WEC champion and Le Mans winner.
Another season done, turned out pretty well. Also Haas appears to have things worked out which could make next year interesting. Last year of the currents regs, so after a while teams just work on the new car and race what they have. Which could work out well for Haas. Assuming the new driver lineup works out.
Said it from the day Perez joined RB; He doesn't deserve that seat. He's always been a mid driver, who occasionally gets lucky. Look at his pre-F1 career. The only championship he's won was F3. Otherwise, it's pretty unspectacular results.
I fully agree, a nr 2, 3 or 4 of a F1 Championship are all mid drivers, occasionally lucky who do not deserve their seats. Like Lando or Charles. Just pathetic drivers.

Why you dumping on the Abu Dhabi track so hard? I think it's a pretty decent track and somehow the atmosphere always just feels right for the final race with the start during daylight and finishing under the lights at dusk. I like it.
Typically it's a lousy race because the titles have been decided and everyone just wants to go home for a few weekends. Occasionally a decent race occurs.
Don't be too harsh on Hamilton, you can't expect him to drive round with a sticker reminding people that he alone didnt win all those titles and Merc actually helped him.

I believe the issue was violating the race director's instructions about not passing in the pit exit tunnel.

Been an F1 fan since I was a kid 30 years ago. Haven't ever been this disinterested, the Tilkedromes suck and didn't Brad Pitt win something? Indycar reminds me of old F1, no BS just racing and drivers willing to talk honestly and openly.
Too bad indycar doesn’t have constructors and the speed is roughly equivalent to F2. It could be great series if the format and performance was more F1 than F2.
6:12 the only reason someone could not have heard of Ryo Hirakawa is if you have never watched the WEC, Super Formula, or Super GT over the past several years. Ryo won Le Mans and the entire WEC championship in 2022.

The end of any season always makes me sad, well, not the 2023 season, that was boring.😁 This season was entertaining, especially because of your videos. But this was a little bit sadder than usual. A lot of lasts when the last race of the season began and ended. Of course, your F1 videos will definitely be missed. So with that said, Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 🎅 and a Happy New Year 🍾🍾
Why you dumping on the Abu Dhabi track so hard? I think it's a pretty decent track and somehow the atmosphere always just feels right for the final race with the start during daylight and finishing under the lights at dusk. I like it.
Typically it's a lousy race because the titles have been decided and everyone just wants to go home for a few weekends. Occasionally a decent race occurs.
