Thank you for posting this. I’ve spent 2 decades suffering in excruciating pain to only have people (men) tell me I was being a wimp. I’m so glad to finally have a diagnosis and my pain validated by people like you who are doing the research. I’ve been told by women who have it and have also given birth that the pain I suffer during periods is worse than child birth. I’ve gone to 2 doctors to ask for a hysterectomy and both of them have told me to instead think about freezing my eggs because I “might want to have children one day.” I’m 39 and do not at all ever want to birth children. At all. So, I’m just suffering until I can find a doctor to help me or I reach menopause finally. Because of Adenomyosis I am extremely anemic and my life is constantly disrupted by bouts of debilitation. When the dysmenorrhea and pain is at it’s worst, I don’t care if I die, I just want it to be over. It’s that bad.

The treatment I mentioned may not yield ideal results, and I do not recommend it. We focus on removing adenomyosis lesions, which is fundamentally different.
