- John Denver performed at the Heartland Heroes Victory Celebration in Omaha, Nebraska on 7/3/1991. Chip Davis composed the special arrangement of our National Anthem to welcome home our trips following the end of Operation Desert Storm. I was there that evening to welcome home my brother-in-law, Sgt. Tim Locatis. The USAF Startegic Arms Band performed back up for John. It was a magical evening.
Wow! John did a fantastic job! Wish he could sing our national anthem many more times. Love & miss you John!
I never get tired of listening to John Denver. What a TALENT that man had! This is just one more fine example of his vocal abilities.

I still miss him and his singing. this is truly one of the best renditions of The Star-Spangled banner I have ever heard. I cannot believe that I have not heard this before now. I wish he was still with us.

That incredible voice, and all it contained...first came upon this a few months ago, even though I’ve loved his music for years. Most beautiful solo rendition I’ve heard...and I’m not just a John Denver-fan boy ☺️ Thanks 🙏❤️

This has to be one of THE hardest anthems to sing. I've just come from a Watch Mojo video of anthem fails,and boy is this a hard song to sing. john did a tasteful,lovely job. But boy,as an Aussie am I glad Advance Australia Fair is a LOT easier to sing.
At least - not that I am complaining at all - you only have to sing in one language. God Defend New Zealand has the Maori verse before the English verse.

+helioribeiro7, +Andrew Reed It was a video created by Anheuser-Busch to welcome home the Desert Storm troops in 1991. It aired on the video screen at the event as shown. I tried to research the video clip and song, but came up empty handed. I did note the Anheuser has dome quite a video tributes over the last 10+ years to honor our military and to thank the troops.
