This was made as a Film School project when the COVID-19 started, I didn't have other means of producing films or videos. This was NOT meant to promote the lake to non-locals. This video is about an important place to my childhood and now adulthood. My family has owned property here for over 15 years, trust me, we want it to just be a treasure to locals and family/friends as much as some of you do. Otherwise, enjoy the drone photography.

What most people don't know is that through the building of the Cushman Dam, Lake Cushman was flooded to three times it's original size.
Beneath the surface is now a raised mine cart railway an extensive stand of old growth trees (nicknamed "The underwater forest") and the remnants of a former welding school.

Beautifully done video! For us, sadly, I have to admit we pretty much want that cell & internet (we are full time in a small travel trailer).

Superb job on this video, sir. Thanks for sharing. It sounds like we discovered Cushman around the same time. I was introduced in the summer of 2006. It was a period of significant change in my life and Lake Cushman, along with nearby Staircase National Park and the Skokomish River, became a source of peace, wonder, discovery, and healing for me. I built many memories there with my son as well, campling, swimming, and hiking together. It remains a very important place for me and always will. I do wish some of the madness weren't an issue. It can get pretty out of hand, even dangerous on the entrance road and at party rock, with way too many people parked on the sides, lots of drinking, litter, fighting, and even some violence and fatalities. Really tragic because this is indeed one of Washington's best spots. Cheers to you. I hope we both have many years of Cushman-Staircase enjoyment ahead. All the best to you.

Thank you!! My families had a cabin here for years and it made for a great college project. Glad you took away good things :)

Tacoma’s drinking water does not come from here. It comes from the green river watershed! Also hardly unknown😮
