I don't know if its just my age, but these older games seemed so much more fun because you could actually see the other players and they could see you. You could really zero in on eachother and it made things so fun and intense. With the ultra detailed games now, players just blend into the world and its not as fun.
Yeah I think this is an aspect of old FPS games that's certainly been lost. Graphics are definitely better these days but at the expense of visibility among other things.
Personally I miss when games like BF didnt feel the need to cater to crackheads with the addition of infinite sprint and bootysliding all over the place.
Oh, and I remember back in those days people going nuts for the graphics as it was one of the first large open multiplayer games with a pretty and dense grass :D .... grass ... hehe

Last real Battlefield before it became poor man's call of duty. No doubt BFBC2 had a great campaign but honestly, it isn't BATTLEFIELD without the sweet Instant Action mode.

You can lower the volume through a config file.
After hours of playing, you get numb to it from what I remember.
@kurtdewittphoto I'd still strongly recommend editing the settings to lower the volume to 30% or so, helps with hearing the rest of the game.
the problem of battlefield 2 is the bullet spread is too big.

i like it actually. it means you have to either burst or single shot often times. not just spray down everything.
Its good and bad. Modern FPS games with extremely tight spread and accurate weapons lead to a very quick time to kill which can be equally frustrating
that radio ruins the game
