1942 has wrong uniforms, wrong vehicles, unrealistic class loadouts, weapons that never went past the prototype stage (hell, some never even went past the drawing board) and the gunplay is about a step above Fortnite when it comes to realism. And yet, it still feels like a serious WW2 game. It doesn't really feel goofy, it doesn't disrespect history and it doesn't come with obnoxious skin unlocks and EXP boosters. Now compare all that to the insulting disaster that was BFV.

Funny enough yesterday and today I felt bored and decided to play again (same server, as it's practically the only one), bombing ships in Midway together with other planes side by side is still awesome, though I can't say the same for the rest. The server states its modded and it seems most maps that shouldn't have planes do, which makes most of the combat just spawn killing and bombing runs by extreme veterans, it's a good game to touch even all these years later but man sometimes it feels like bad design.

Seeing as how the dumbasses at EA delisted this, Vietnam, 2 and 2142 off of Origin in 2014, and shutdown a fan revival project for BF2s multiplayer in 2017, its as if they want you to forget the old BFs exist.

Man, so much more fun than warthunder. South Park was right, with microtransactions games are designed to only be "almost fun". You're always climbing trying to reach the fun summit, barely graze it, then fall back down and keep climbing. Look at this, every second of gameplay looks hype. Infantry, vehicles, planes. "Monetization" killed entire categories of gaming. Nothing more than sad addiction machines

Do you need a CD to play? When from two or three years ago I tried to play (I have the original game on cd) I had to insert the disc to play.
Can't you just buy it on steam? I haven't checked to see if its on there myself.
