We are sometimes so set on our opinion that we never ask the right questions to the opposing side to understand why they truly oppose us. Through this careful exploration fueled by full mental engagement on all sides we can much more easily find common ground and determine which stories we follow are real issues and which are just stories meant to contribute to the divisions that negatively effect everyone. As a veteran they always say there’s no programs for veterans and let me tell you there are tons of programs for so many veterans. The problem is how they are managed most veterans don’t know of these programs and will never know of them because one they don’t tell you or the veteran doesn’t go searching for them. Another problem with veteran programs are the wait times and the people that work in these programs are very judgmental to veterans because most of them are veterans and there is that stigma of being weak for searching for help that persists till this day.

This is true for most government safety nets because 1. They always end up with way less money than is needed to make large dents in issues, usually ending up as band aids to a gushing wound 2. Even if an initiative has semi proper funding politicians who are against supporting welfare will find a way to funnel funds to private interests so they can hire incompetent workers who waste more than they help. Both issues causing people to think socially funded programs can't fully address problems. Citizens after enough times become less and less trusting of governments that want to help but can't if no one asks. While companies who present a worse alternative profit off the suffering of everyday folks. It's a vicious cycle.
My boyfriend is a veteran and was homeless for a long time before getting the proper help from the VA. He's starting a charity to help other homeless vets and hoping he'll be a pipeline from homelessness to a sense of stability for other vets.

veteran here, i have a 60% disability rating. i have never had to wait at the VA for any service any longer than i would have if i had gone to a private hospital. in fact, its typically way faster for me to get VA care. pretty much every person that brings up veterans not getting care have no idea what they are talking about.
I have a lot of family that uses the VA and they actually talk about the great benefits and the schooling. I’m very curious to see who’s not getting these benefits or who’s suffering, I do wonder if it’s a case by case thing, not too sure
That's pretty much how all of these stories and riots go. I was working in an office building when the Michael Brown protests were happening in Clayton. The actual protesters were about 30-40% of the total crowd. The rest were simply media - there were more media covering the event than actual protestors. People just don't turn out to these things but the media will angle the camera shots so they look much more impressive than they are. I'm not saying that organizing is a bad thing - I'm simply saying that the media always sells an over inflated narrative because otherwise no one would watch the segment.

Pastor dude at about 30:15 says they're seeking a legal way in, and that's a really good point. These are folks who hear that the only legal way to get in is to seek asylum, so they come seeking asylum. They're not hiding from anyone - they are attempting to engage a process that isn't actually a sham. The real solution, also alluded to by the goatee guy in the beginning, is actually making the effort to establish an infrastructure to settle new migrants in the US in a stable and safe way, which is totally possible. But the ruling class doesn't want to fund it, so, as AC gets into in the vid, they pump divisive nonsense into the discourse, and do their best to program people against the idea of making is easier to immigrate legally. It's just not reasonable to say your only problem is with migrants "breaking the law," while at the same time working to make it harder to immigrate without breaking the law.
I 'm Dutch and I worked in Florida for a year . I was surprised how many people are stuck in the U.S who can't go back. Not just because of poverty, war , violence in their home country. But also because they didn't have the money and/or anything left to go back to. I spoke with quite a few Latin Americans who used all their savings to cross the border, and lived in a room with 2 other people. They worked their ass off for cents on the dollar , always scared for deportation. No healthcare, no nothing. People treat them like shit, etc. But they had spend all their money getting to the U.S, and now they had to work just to survive. or send a few bucks back to family. It's really sad that those who work so hard for so little are seen as 'the problem' in the richest country on earth.

A Social Security check is not completely a socialist program. If it were a pure socialist program, the amount that every individual contributed to it would be the same and the amount of the benefits received (paid out) by each individual would be the same. As a veteran they always say there’s no programs for veterans and let me tell you there are tons of programs for so many veterans. The problem is how they are managed most veterans don’t know of these programs and will never know of them because one they don’t tell you or the veteran doesn’t go searching for them. Another problem with veteran programs are the wait times and the people that work in these programs are very judgmental to veterans because most of them are veterans and there is that stigma of being weak for searching for help that persists till this day.

This is true for most government safety nets because 1. They always end up with way less money than is needed to make large dents in issues, usually ending up as band aids to a gushing wound 2. Even if an initiative has semi proper funding politicians who are against supporting welfare will find a way to funnel funds to private interests so they can hire incompetent workers who waste more than they help. Both issues causing people to think socially funded programs can't fully address problems.
Citizens after enough times become less and less trusting of governments that want to help but can't if no one asks. While companies who present a worse alternative profit off the suffering of everyday folks. It's a vicious cycle.
My boyfriend is a veteran and was homeless for a long time before getting the proper help from the VA. He's starting a charity to help other homeless vets and hoping he'll be a pipeline from homelessness to a sense of stability for other vets.

veteran here, i have a 60% disability rating. i have never had to wait at the VA for any service any longer than i would have if i had gone to a private hospital. in fact, its typically way faster for me to get VA care. pretty much every person that brings up veterans not getting care have no idea what they are talking about.

That's pretty much how all of these stories and riots go. I was working in an office building when the Michael Brown protests were happening in Clayton. The actual protesters were about 30-40% of the total crowd. The rest were simply media - there were more media covering the event than actual protestors. People just don't turn out to these things but the media will angle the camera shots so they look much more impressive than they are. I'm not saying that organizing is a bad thing - I'm simply saying that the media always sells an over inflated narrative because otherwise no one would watch the segment.

Pastor dude at about 30:15 says they're seeking a legal way in, and that's a really good point. These are folks who hear that the only legal way to get in is to seek asylum, so they come seeking asylum. They're not hiding from anyone - they are attempting to engage a process that isn't actually a sham. The real solution, also alluded to by the goatee guy in the beginning, is actually making the effort to establish an infrastructure to settle new migrants in the US in a stable and safe way, which is totally possible. But the ruling class doesn't want to fund it, so, as AC gets into in the vid, they pump divisive nonsense into the discourse, and do their best to program people against the idea of making is easier to immigrate legally. It's just not reasonable to say your only problem is with migrants "breaking the law," while at the same time working to make it harder to immigrate without breaking the law.

I 'm Dutch and I worked in Florida for a year . I was surprised how many people are stuck in the U.S who can't go back. Not just because of poverty, war , violence in their home country. But also because they didn't have the money and/or anything left to go back to. I spoke with quite a few Latin Americans who used all their savings to cross the border, and lived in a room with 2 other people. They worked their ass off for cents on the dollar , always scared for deportation. No healthcare, no nothing. People treat them like shit, etc. But they had spend all their money getting to the U.S, and now they had to work just to survive. or send a few bucks back to family. It's really sad that those who work so hard for so little are seen as 'the problem' in the richest country on earth.
