- If my camera work didn't ruin it for you, and you appreciated me uploading it, contribute (if you can spare) a buck or two. I make no money from views, all add revenue goes to the acts. I wonder who does get the money though. The artist or the record companies? The artist owns the 'author' rights and typically the record company owns the 'mechanical recording' rights. But they didn't record it... I did.

With Hutch at the helm INXS were the best damn live band on the planet!
Man, what a voice. What an ensemble. Working so effortlessly together in written poetic form and tight unison, song to song. Rhythm to rhythm. Story to story.
Well Said)))
Michael sounds incredible
One of the greatest Frontmen and live bands of all time!
I was at this show and 21 years old at the time, probably one of the best summers I ever had! Great concert with INXS at the top of their game
Funny I was thinking the same thing! The band was awesome.
I was at this show, and I was 16. It was my first concert ever, and I have been an INXS fanatic ever since.
I made a comment about a comment Michael said. Did he say what I think he did?!
@@JohnVinkWantsAnswers I was 20 and saw this concert on June 10. It's great to know some other INXS fans are out there! I've been an INXS fanatic ever since, too!
So excited you posted this
My first concert ever at 12 and was biggest Michael Hutchence fan ever!
I can't help but come down here again to say THANK YOU for sharing this live concert... It seems to be the ONLY 1988 full concert we can see on youtube.. And thank you for keeping Michael's sweet memory alive ~~
man they were so on during this tour...live at wembley was great in 91, but the 87/88 tour Michael's voice was on fire
Great sound on this recording for the time period! He was a great showman in how he made it look so easy and fun while really belting it out. I saw them on the X tour at MLG and they sounded great.
If my memory serves correctly, I believe that concert was back on March 9, 1991.
[Not only did I want to go to that concert (but never got the chance to), but I also recall the "Toronto Star" doing an article on INXS the day before (March 8, 1991) in the weekly Friday What's On (in effect, Entertainment) section.]
I was there dancing my ass off. They were awesome! Ziggy opened well but INXS were the stars. Thanks for sharing this 😊
INXS banda top... hutch sem palavras...sua performance no palco... sua voz é de tirar o fôlego...banda igual a essa é só uma vez na vida 🎸🎸🎼🎶 INXS para sempre 🥰🥰❤🇧🇷
We need to Lennon, Morrison, Tom Petty, Lemmy, Prince, Freddy, Bowie, W Houston, HUTCHENCE,, to save worlds music today 🙌
And Kurt, Chris and Chester
With Michael leading ❤️❤️
Holy crap! I was there that particular evening with my friend Carl [as we were both up in the so called "nosebleed" seats in the north grandstand of old Exhibition Stadium, almost right up to the roof (around Section 34 or 35 or thereabouts)].
One thing that I do recall with respect to that particular evening was looking about 2 kilometres east from the north grandstand (while it was still daylight outside); and consequently seeing SkyDome beginning to more noticeably take shape by that point. (For those who are not from Toronto, but the downtown Toronto skyline could easily be seen in the distance from the north grandstand at old Exhibition Stadium.)
I was at this show - grandstand tix! Many thanks for posting. My 15 year old daughter wears my concert shirt to school and her teachers love it!
Excellent. If it's a history teacher who likes it, maybe she can get extra credit?!
That's cool. I never bought the t-shirt (Melbourne, October 1988) but if I had my daughter would have done the same. :-)
Thank YOU So Much~~~ 1988.... Michael was so beautiful and in good spirit~~
Michael's voice during the Kick era was otherworldly.
A great decade in music. My teenage self played kick on tape in the walkman all day everyday!
Wonderful Michael ❤️
Fantástico!!!! Inxs lo mejor!!!!! MICHAEL el mejor frontman!!!! 🎶♥️🎶♥️🎶♥️
INXS!!!! lo mas grande!!!
MH IS a Real COSMOS! Incredible Talent EVER.....
This was the first real concert i ever saw! Thank you for posting

Best front row Montreal show I went to the day before... I guess this will do lol... But mtl show he was wearing his stripped black and white pants ... Rip Michael Hutchence best performer
I was there! 35 years ago today…😮 super privileged!!
Thank you for uploading this!!!
did ziggy marley open?
I was there - my 1st concert I was 18. Great memories thanks for video
Wow, thanks for the upload.
This was the second and last tour I saw them on
Excellent
21 anos sem vc Michael Hutchence...
My sister and I were at this concert. I was in love with Michael lol.
bought scalper's tickets for this one. Hot summer night. No regrets. Ziggy Marley opened the show
I am a lifelong Torontonian; and I still remember that heat wave of the Summer of 1988 like it was yesterday (even 30 years later). Not only did I go to that concert with my friend Carl that night, but I also recall that evening being a relatively "cooler" night, especially with respect to that particular summer (just a little above 20 degrees Celsius or so that night).
On the other hand, I still also remember Ziggy Marley opening up for INXS that evening as well.
Yep saw them in Philly same year was 17
I ripped off a scalper for ticket floor seat 11th row centre on the aisle I am sure my head dude wanted 80 per ticket I gave him 160 my buddy had the tickets he gave the tickets back the kid scalping him saying naw...we waited 10 seconds handed him the 20's all rolled up and walked away with 2 tickets for 80 bucks. both tickets were not even that much combined. No Bets tavern was our first stop . Seen them all told 5 or 6 times and each time was worth the money paid. Audio here is not too bad at all video for 32 years old is ok. loving the memory flashback. ironic is that I found the Glasgow version of this concert from earlier in 1988 Thursday night buried in a box of tapes and I was telling my buddy who was with me at the show about it and he directed me here.
@@danieldobrosky8378 I was 15 and my mom came with. She even got us floor seats. Thank Mom ❤
Obrigada ❤❤❤
I saw INXS perform in Ottawa in the late 1980s and what was strange was that it was not in a giant stadium but in a small room like a wedding reception would be. I would love to see any footage of this because it was so surreal, there were big round tables and INXS was performing like a wedding band. It was like I saw UFO and I need to validate that I actually saw it.
sad how he got damaged..bums me out what could of been
Wow new subscriber cuz u for this actual video of this hot gig! Micheal killing it like no other! Ty bro!!!! Absolutely best one !!!!!!! 👍🇺🇸❤️💯🔥🙏😜🥵
Thanx for the upload
Wow, thanks for the upload.
I was there that night with you...
Q and l
Thanx
Ottawa with Ziggy Marley . The best show I've seen and there's been a lot! The taped recording does not do justice to how good the band sounds. Seen David Lee Roth with Steve Via that month mainly Inxs memories. Poison opened for Roth CC Daville threw a pick and you could see the guys in the crowd part. Funny we were there for VIA,
Lol at the 'pick flick'
Awesome Ty’s for posting! This is killer!
Micheal Hutchence would have been better then Bono.
Jandar Tyr Than*
He was 10 times better than Bono! 😎
Bono knew he was not in the same league as Hutch
william boyce Right. Even U2 got bigger than INXS, Bono don't sing such great anymore. His voice got damaged through the PopMart Tour and was changed when U2 got on Elevation Tour in 2001.
Even Bono's voice was on top on ZOO TV Tour in 1992-93, it have never been that great and strong as Michael, that kept his voice strong until his death. It says Michael also trained his voice every day, not all singers are doing it everyday. I have my doubt's that Bono maintain his voice? I don't know! 🙂
But he wasn't and isn't.
be great if some other kick era videos came up us shows & Europe same quality as this!!
Thank you for this:) Its a sweet surprise as I've watched my "favorite" here on you tube too many times. Were you at this concert?
Gran periodo
I was in this concert 9 row close to the front
last row, floors that day, great concert.. no band without Hutch
Off to his left...
The film doesn't do it justice. ..
It was completely off the charts live...
me too.. and Ziggy Marley opened!
My band👁️👁️🌸🏵️🌹🥀🥀🥀
I saw the band 1 month later in Charlotte NC. Ziggy Marley was the opening act. I waited all concert to hear my favorite song, The One Thing. They never played it. I left pissed. But, I did have a good time with my girlfriend after the concert. :-)
The funny thing is they played a song that ended up becoming one of my favorites, "Don't Change." The very last song they played. It was even better live than on Shabooh Shoobah.
@@kimberlywalker3970 As I remember, that was an encore. I'm sure by that time, I was too pissed off to care.
I was there that night with you...

Did Michael really say, "...Toronto, where the fuck are you," 46:40? That's hilarious and insane. I love Michael but he's a little insane for me at this show. I love it though. I'm asking those of you who attended this concert, was this how you remembered it?!
I wasn't there, but, yes, I heard him say that too. Then he comes out later without his pants on to wake the audience up! Hilarious!😆
Kind of looked like Kirk and Tim were trying to avoid him a little bit during the performance...imo.
where in Toronto was this?
10:20 :)
Lot of "MICK,in him"
😀
Why would someone donate to you? You didn't make the video, and you didn't create the platform it is hosted on. Crazy that you think you can steal from someone else, then expect people to pay you for it. That's amazing.
I lived in San Diego and had tickets to see INXS in LA in '88. I was I6 and planned to go with my older brother. He cancelled on me and my mother wouldn't let me go with a friend. Thumbs down for my brother and mom please. :)
Definately sucks!
Still find it hard to watch these live gigs! Damnnnnn what a fricking lose!!!!!!Rip dear Micheal!.....legendary!
Man were they taking advantage of pre-recorded music. Lol. The drummer isn't even trying to pretend he is playing.
Hey Erik, long time Inxs fan here enjoyin some old concert footage. I picked up on some backbeats not coming from the drum kit also here. this was a period where they went very electronic. The whole drum kit looks electric. I would guess Andrew was playing with a lot of synthesized keyboards too. I will say I became an Inxs fan in '84 and have seen them in concert some up close in small venues '85, '87, '91, and ,'94 . Jon Ferris is a hell of a drummer with nothin but the real skins. If that helps put this show in perspective. Glad you checked them out and you have a good eye for musicians
The Kick album was recorded w/electronic drums. They aren't Milli Vanilli so lighten-up!
where in Toronto was this?
Exhibition Stadium bandshell. Doesn't exist anymore.
It was a great night...
I still remember when the old north grandstand at Exhibition Stadium was imploded on January 31, 1999 (exact same day when Super Bowl XXXIII was played).
It was at the old Exhibition Stadium (where also the MLB Toronto Blue Jays and the CFL Toronto Argonauts used to play as well). For the record, the venue itself was demolished in both late 1998/early 1999.
[The opening of what is now called Budweiser Stage (originally Molson Ampitheatre) across the street on the south side of Lake Shore Boulevard West at Ontario Place in May 1995 was, in many respects, the beginning of the end of Exhibition Stadium being a viable venue (for anything really by that stage) in Toronto (as SkyDome (now officially known as the Rogers Centre) had opened nearly six years earlier back in June 1989).]
On the other hand, BMO Field (where the MLS Toronto FC currently play) sits on most of the footprint of where Exhibition Stadium used to stand nowadays.
