Where will this new coaster rank for you?
Certainly a lot higher than his Florida counterpart
#1
In the middle top 5
ish
As someone with a deadly fear of thrill rides, 0.
I know I'm stating the obvious here, but this drifting terrain rollercoaster is so much better than the slow, screen-based dark rides that currently exist. A Fast and Furious attraction that is actually fast and thrilling is so much more representative of the franchise.
Makes me wonder what they’ll do to supercharge once this ride opens
There should be maybe 2-3 dark rides max in any park. Any more than that is boring and repetitive. And yes, Disney parks are indeed mostly boring and repetitive.
@@RA-hx9uc That's a bold opinion, and while there's nothing wrong with having that opinion (Disney parks may not be your style), I think it's a bit too extreme to say that ANY theme park should NEVER have ANY more than 2-3 dark rides. Most people do not find the Disneyland dark rides boring and repetitive--they find them simple and charming and nostalgic. That doesn't mean you are wrong--one person can find something boring, while another person can find the same thing exhilarating. My point is that Universal's Fast and Furious Supercharged dark ride is a low-budget, poorly executed ride in general. The fact that it is a dark ride has nothing to do with it. Should it have been a roller coaster or Test Track-style attraction from the beginning? Yes, of course! But it is absolutely possible to make a fantastic Fast and Furious dark ride. The upcoming Zootopia land in Shanghai Disneyland has a dark ride where guests ride in a police SUV and engage in a car chase. A more intense version of that ride system, I think, would have been very well received at Universal for the Fast and Furious franchise. So maybe you're just not a dark ride type of person, and that's okay. Or maybe you've just never been on a good dark ride (like Rise of the Resistance). But Disneyland would be nothing without its Fantasyland dark rides, which are some of the most popular attractions in the entire park. Peter Pan's Flight regularly has wait times upwards of an hour. Maybe people don't know what they want, but in my opinion, theme parks in general need MORE quality dark rides, not less. Dark rides provide a lot of capacity without eating up as much space as a roller coaster, and provide much more immersion than a flat ride. But it depends on the park. Six Flags Magic Mountain isn't focused on the same audience as Disneyland, so it makes sense why they don't build dark rides. Universal has a similar audience to Disneyland, so it makes sense why they try to build dark rides (and sometimes do a decent job, like Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash).
The current F&F ride is the worst ever in park history
Epic Universe, Horror Unleashed and now this. Universal is going to have a massive year in 2025.
I have a feeling this is just the beginning of a massive decade for Universal. I’d bet that they have quite a few other surprises they’re holding close to their chest to announce soon after these projects are completed.
@@wadeausburn978don't jinx it
Texas Park as well😅
As a life-long Los Angelino, I can't tell you how many people have told me "Man, imagine if they built a big roller coaster along that hillside!" This coaster is going to do gang-busters for the park, I'm telling you. This will also be an amazing crowd-suck for HHN.
I'm a local, haven't been back to USH in 20 years. I'm gonna be a day 1 Annual Pass holder the second this thing opens!
I’m still saddened by the loss of animal actors and the special effects show. I hope they can return somehow.
But on the plus side, Universal has been in dire need of a new coaster! So this will be a needed thing for the park!
I agree. I'm happy that the Universal's investing in something unique for USH, especially a new, badass coaster, but Animal Actors and the Special Effects Show were really part of the heart and soul of USH and I don't think I'll ever be able to ride this ride without thinking about what we lost. If I had to choose between the two shows and this ride, no matter how great Hollywood Drift is gonna be, I'd probably pick the two shows. I really hope they come back.
USH needs more shows, Waterworld can’t be the only one. Personally, I would rather have 2 new shows over at the Simpsons ride buildings than a new ride when the contract is up. We need more people eater shows to ease up traffic on walkways.
@@user-mn1rf3xk1zit's not as bad as Disney losing Tower of Terror for that garbage Guardians overlay.
The good news is there's plenty of space actually to move a show like that too. My vote is gut the Simpsons ride for a show building. USH has too many simulators.
So jealous that USH gets an actual good looking Fast & Furious ride.
I'll take it!!! Lets gooo
Finally, a ride that goes FAST for the Fast franchise!
Im not excited for another prototype coaster in cali. Last ten years our coaster line up has been horrible. I thought we were getting pantheon with tried and true tested trains. This will be down alot for the next few years,Anyone planning ush trip be warned.
@@MotoCoreSteveits intamin after all..
@@imsocool5932 yEA Wonder how xcelerator and superman are doing lol.
Had this been built at Universal Studios Japan, I bet you it would’ve been called “Tokyo Drift”! 🥁
Yea they will get one once the tech for trains is prefected. A THRILL coaster with 360 trains is a protoype and will be down alot for the next few years. For a park that need a people eater, I see it as a big mistake.
@@MotoCoreStevestop spreading false info
@@Shark_Builds_BroUSJ has a Hollywood land and even a New York area… So naming a single ride on an movie that actually had the name “Tokyo” in it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.
@@imsocool5932 False info? What you on about. Do the prototypes in cali work? Been noticing alot of push back for my opinion with no real reason why. I grew up in cali and going to all the socal parks, I would say its my expertise.
@@MotoCoreSteve “a big mistake” 🤦🏾♂️
Finally! A real "family" coaster in this park!
I heard it will be 73 miles an hour! More thrill than family!
Alicia I love your videos! So nice to hear and see a female enthusiast having such success with her channel. No shade to us men but so great to see more coaster enthusiasts breaking into prominence
Thank you! I’m just glad people are interested, because I love talking about all these projects anyway!
@@ThemeParkStopsame! You know so much about this rollercoaster and I love hearing all these exciting facts!
If Hollywood could get Hagrid’s and donkey Kong after this, it would skyrocket attendance. I would even get a pass again.
But we also need unique attractions yk
They can build a roller coaster similar to California Screamin but themed to Super Silly Fun Land at the minions land.
Of course unique attractions. But I am sure a bunch of stuff got cut from Hagrid’s. So give us the super version of that! Lol
@@SpaceMountain oh
USH really needs that new hotel bad. Hope it'll look very similar to the Universal Grand Hotel in Beijing.
As a person who lived in Cali my whole life and regularly goes and loves USH a lot I hate that people in Florida are mad that they aren’t getting this coaster like they didn’t just get Velocicoaster and Hagrid’s and are getting a whole new park
I feel like someone’s been listening in on my conversations. I’ve always said that Universal should do a FF coaster with the same workings as Cosmic Rewind! The whole drifting would work great with the omni-moving ride system. I hope that part of the ride would be drifting in a parking garage like scene.
If you're interested in seeing what the drifting cars will be like, I recreated the ride on my page with fully working multi-dimensional trains.
i like how much love ush is getting, this is my home park!
I just worry about the construction crew and other TMs near the construction site: There’s been a mountain lion roaming in that area(I saw it myself two weeks ago).
This is amazing. The only bad thing is the theming 😢
I think the queue should be cool.
What theming? What else can they use? The original F&F is based on LA and Universal Studios IS in LA lol.
@@24ecko anything. Even no theming at all.
& inversions too..I don’t like inversions lol
I hope once epic universe finishes, universal puts this bad boy in Orlando at studios
They will once the tech is ready will be a better verison of it. Cali usaully the testing ground for better rides in the furture kekw.
You guys really don’t need it no offense cali does.
let cali have a win for once
Plus in Cali it’s a terrain coaster in the mountains and Florida is flat soooooo… R.I.P
Awesome video thank you
Will be vlogging when we get our passes renewed so excited for this ride
I'M SO EXCITEDDDD💙💙💙 I LOVE INTAMIN SO MUCH💙💙💙 CAN'T WAIT!!
I saw someone talk about this but I was waiting for you❤❤
Sorry it took me a few extra days, I had a lot to catch up on and wanted to dig through the permit documents too!
So good so good so good
I got all I need and I’m feelin so good
I know! I'm so excited!
I hope SNW and this is the start of new additions to Hollywood, it’s in desperate need of more rides and experiences especially with the possibility of a hotel being built for the park.
Won’t hold a candle to Supercharged!
Lol
it’s a shame they didn’t just duplicate that. honestly they could’ve even had 2 of them in hollywood and add a second one at USF in place of fear factor
What's good about the Orlando one anyway?
@@CiscohmLets see. Uhh.....
Nothing.
@@Hydra_X9K_Music personally it's butt, just asking his opinion why. Maybe i missed something
I figure the "two football fields" wall is going to go along Kirk Douglas Dr. There are soundstages below Super Silly Fun Land and the entire coaster is staying south of that road so it makes the most sense. Kirk Douglas Dr starts above the halfway point between the Upper and Lower Lots and it passes by the Jurassic World ride building fairly close to the halfway point. From there the road gets steeper as it curves around to the actual Lower Lot but the area they've been flattening south of the fire station is much higher than that road, so everybody better give up hope that this thing is going anywhere near the Lower Lot. It looks like they're already carving out a straightaway before/after the mini top hat and it's well above Kirk Douglas. The lowest point it may reach is when it goes under the Skyway, which is about 2.5 escalators above the Lower Lot. This is not going to be VelociCoaster East and I don't want to hear the whining when people finally realize that. If anything, it's going to be more like Hagrid's+. This is probably the most exciting thing this park will ever get so be happy it's not another animation on the Studio Tour!
Makes sense, they can use it to hold up the posters for all the Universal movies you see while heading down into the studios.
LMAO, first you claim Universal isn't gonna build this at all and now that's it's confirmed you backpedal and go "B-B-BUT IT'S GONNA BE LIKE HAGRID'S" even though the blueprints CLEARLY show this is a pure white knuckle thrill coaster. And your point about the starway jr immelmann being the lowest point is a load of crap. The 3rd launch's location is well over 100 feet below the upper lot.
TLDR; Just stop coping and seething and learn to take the L.
Considering how fast construction is going we might get this in 2024.
it’s great they’re making sure to reduce sound pollution considering a major high school is just across the street 😭
You would've thought at Orlando they'd use a coaster concept, instead, you get to sit in the same spot for about 3 minutes while you can hardly see the entite 360 screen.
am i the only one concerns about the color of the track? cuz green would make me think of Hulk not fast and furious
Rumors say its black
@@imsocool5932yes, black on black
We don't know what colr the track will be yet.
Does universal normally put this much effort into sounds a ride makes or is this a one of thing because it’s a rollercoaster near houses and soundstages. Either way I can’t wait to be there on opening day
Depends on what is required for each location. For this it’s not just the soundstages and backlot, but they’re also bound by a local sound ordinance for the neighboring communities. It’s required that they keep sounds under a certain level during the day and even less sound at night according to the rules they’ve agreed to with the community.
Love that a new coaster will be coming but hopefully there will be no inversions though
I wish you and yesterworld still made a podcast
Im a little iffy on the drifting. I hope the coaster can still really rip. Those rotatings cars are just bulkier and not as nimble as a coaster like Velocicoaster, which is what i was hoping for.
Best case scenario is it's done really well and is a great coaster, i just the drifting doesnt feel like a gimmick that holds it back from being great.
I think it will, unfortunately
I really hope unversal gets a mack x spinner. Its really the only park i could see put in 1 with xtreme themes to make it the best ride ever. There getting the spinner at the new.parrk but not an xtreme if the new ride is received well id love to see 1 come to replace fast and furious live as an expensive are to harry potter. It could even spin thu the que of gringots
test track mixed with trackless drifting!
orlando need coastal too .
They need to redo the fast and furious in FL
Now we just need to demo the mummy and replace it with the velocicoaster
This is basic our version of velocicoaster
Then it'd be another MM situation where you have 2 Blitzes in the same park
Why the mummy? It’s one of the best rides at universal
Feel bad for Florida since they’re stuck with Supercharged and there’s no way they replace that either a clone of this.
True, True, but we also have a lot more theme parks in Orlando than Hollywood, especially come 2025!
At least Orlando has coasters. USH is pretty lame actually
I mean they have VC and epic on the way, but why would they not replicate this?
What happens to the studio tour FF portion?
No one knows for sure just yet, but I imagine it’ll be replaced once the new ride opens!
1:39 what is sound pollution?
Noise/sound that travels further than intended that can be annoying/nuisance to neighboring areas.
@@ThemeParkStop thank you.
how fast is this coaster supposed to be?
Rumored up to 70 mph, but not yet confirmed
About time we get a real roller coaster ride! It’s only been forever!😂
This has guardians of galaxy cosmic rewind vibes
If you're interested in seeing what the drifting cars will be like, I recreated the ride on my page with fully working multi-dimensional trains.
It’ll probably be a lot faster and more intense tho
Love the updates! I created a NoLimits project for Hollywood Drift featuring the multi-dimensional rotating cars if you're interested in checking it out on my page.
They should have just made it inside like the Mummy just needed to make it look like a parking garage.
Nah it looks way cooler outside.
Can't wait for the universal orlando F&F ride to be demolished
Well, at least Universal is still giving the FNF franchise another chance at a thrilling attraction, LOL.
Usually positive about coasters. But kinda salty from past ten years seen gigas and velocicoasters being built everywere but not in cali. Not everyone can travel. And once again we are getting another prototype that will not work on opening day and be down alot for the next few years. What a huge mistake and Objectif Mars is not a thrill coaster. Also im sure a spinning thrill coaster will be the general pops fav ride.....
It’s not really a prototype. It’s basically Volocicoaster with rotating seats. Should not be too bad on downtime.
the wonderful theater (Castle Dracula" - "Conan Show") which could hold a lot of guests - all destroyed for a roller coaster. Stupid choice.
They better bring back Castle Dracula but make it across from the Mummy rolller coaster to make a classic monster land downstairs on the lower lot.
the simpsons ride will stay forever
I’m glad Universal is finally able to give Disney a run for their money. Their proving that they can offer better experiences at a better price. I’m from the UK and when I travel to Florida I go to every park but the Disney ones. It still costs me about £1000 to visit the parks but if went to Disney too it would be £2500. It’s really not worth it.
I don't understand why they are not starting with Orlando. The only reason to visit Universal Hollywood is the Secret Life of Pets attraction.
...that's exactly why
That’s exactly the reason why. And the Olympics are coming to LA in 2028 so USH is trying to beef up
What is this comment 💀
That is the reason why. Also Orlando doesn’t have a mountain to build it on. This coaster was modeled after the terrain.
Super Nintendo World...at least until Epic opens in 2025.
2025 is what they tell team members [USH employees] so I'd expect that if there are no delays.
Whoo! Now is that early, mid or late 2025?
