Thank you SO much for the small comments as you use the tools telling us specifically what tone they are affecting. UI labels for sliders don't always provide the full context and it really helps to hear (example: vibrance affecting midtones versus saturation affecting highlights and shadows -- never knew this).
I learned something new about the color grading: Hold the shift key to keep the selected color as you adjust the effect. It's a tool I need to play with a bit more. Thanks!
It's such good advice to leave your edits marinating for a day or two. So many times I've finished an edit feeling really pleased with myself and posting straight to instagram, then looking at it again a day later and wanting to die.
Hi Will, the focus of your editing tips videos is always spot on. There's enough in the tutorial to be really useful and teach something without going overboard and overwhelming. I find the speed you are doing the adjustments and explanations of the workflow is right too, not too fast so it can be followed and makes sense. It's all very relaxing and I like the way you encourage people to experiment and do their own thing with your workflow suggestions to get results that they prefer. This is a good addition to your most recent retouching masterclass... for anyone else who is interested I can thoroughly recommend your courses, there's loads to choose from..
I always say it but you are the BEST teacher for processing that I’ve found. I’ve been taking a long mental health break from my job or I would’ve already bought your courses to support you! 🤍 Thank you!!
Thank you. I have issues with editing my pics. I feel it all overwhelming with editing. Watching and listening to you go through how you edit helps me to learn while in learning. Thank you.
Thanks a lot. I know it can be daunting when you’re starting out. Just take it slow and don’t be too hard on yourself. Glad my videos have been helping. Keeps me inspired knowing that :)
That was so animating - I just had to go out and take a few water pictures at the Rhine. Then I worked on them, following your recipe. It's different, because the coulers are different. But it works and is good fun. Now it is marinating 🙂
I learn so much from watching your tutorials. On this occasion I loved how you colour graded your images. Watching this I learned that I generally overcook my images. Might have some fun and reedit some of them. Cheers.
Excellent suggestions for adjusting tones. One thing I like to use instead of vibrance and saturation is the color calibration panel. It appears to lend a bit more control.
This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and I learned a lot. I have been struggling with a mom and two baby river otters in the water shot in raw. The color of the water is so ugly green and after working on it for a few minutes I closed the photo and moved on. After seeing your video, I will go back with new insights on how to tackle that photo. You are right that each day, or even hour we are developing our photos brings a new perspective and mood to our photos. I have subscribed and look forward to more of your videos. Your teaching, photos, and even your background music are a style that works for me. I am happy I found your channel. Thanks!
Your opening remarks hit the nail right on the head. I look at the RAW images and say 'rubbish' - delete, 'rubbish' - delete... I don't keep any. This is embarrassing. Can I use the excuse of being a newbie (18 months)? Loved your use of the histogram; that will really help; same as when taking shots. (Late commenting, William. Been off camping and clicking.)
Another excellent video Will - I've got a number of different wave photos sitting waiting for some attention. Your videos always inspire me into action.
Trying to expand my knowledge in PS RAW, I just didn't get it. You brought it all together. Your videos are a game changer for a rookie that wanted to expand their skills!
Excellent video again. Some really great tips I didn't know in colour grading. I'll be sure to start experimenting. I'm by a lake and haven't been very inspired. It's a very busy time of year lots of traffic and the one thing that is not impacted are the waves. Thanks Cheers

Awesome. It’s a very powerful tool. Check out a waterfall video I posted not long ago, I showcase the power of grading on that image too. Cheers!
If you hold ctrl instead (on Lightroom) you can adjust the tone without touching the saturation😊

Haha, exactly!!

My pleasure mate. Always appreciate the support 🙏🏻
Always better sit on an edit for a while & take another look. Big difference in the way I edit now from when first started 6 years ago.
Great vid. Like the way you used the color adjudtment tool.

Thank you so much! I hope you can now potentially use some of those images and that you enjoy the rest of the channel :)
Great work and super helpful as always. Thanks for helping us out!
My pleasure. Thanks :)

Really enjoy watching how you edit a image William, love that wave image with those beautiful highlights. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much mate 🙏🏻
Thanks for always creating incredible content.
Thank you mate 🙏🏻
Another fantastic video. Our image don’t always match our experiences. If that happens we have to correct it in post. Totally make sense
Thank you friend 🙏🏻
@@WilliamPatinoPhotography also good tip on look at the color profile. I keep forgetting
Another outstanding video with some awesome content. I learnt a lot from this. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks ☺️
Very interesting William as ive just done some coastal shots so I will give it a try thanks very much.
Thanks a lot mate :)
Just come across your channel and you make editing so simple yet the results are stunning.
Thanks mate! That’s how it should be :) Hope you enjoy the rest of the channel 🙏🏻
Another excellent video Will - I've got a number of different wave photos sitting waiting for some attention. Your videos always inspire me into action.
Thanks so much Leanne :) I look forward to seeing them
Thanks for the video! You make it easy to follow where and how you are making these adjustments.
My pleasure, thank you!
Trying to expand my knowledge in PS RAW, I just didn't get it. You brought it all together. Your videos are a game changer for a rookie that wanted to expand their skills!
Amazing to hear, thank you! :)
Thanks! This was really helpful.
Thank you Shelley 🙏🏻
G😂real video! It was educational and intriguing.
Excellent video again. Some really great tips I didn't know in colour grading. I'll be sure to start experimenting.
I'm by a lake and haven't been very inspired. It's a very busy time of year lots of traffic and the one thing that is not impacted are the waves.

Cheers
Thanks mate. Definitely give it a try by the lake, you can have some great fun especially with different light and shutter speeds :)
@@WilliamPatinoPhotography I have one question. I knew that you switch to landscape in processing and I'm wondering what you use in camera.
Thanks
*know
Great work thanks for sharing Will. Did you use a polariser?
Thanks mate. No, I didn’t.
Cos it sounds like colour pop!? Which nobody likes haha… this is great though! I’m so excited to try these close ups!
Super helpful tutorial, thanks, I love photographing waves, but they never have that “je me sais quoi”. This will help…
Thank you!
Use Luminar Neo to remove the dust spots with one click.
Cool. So it uses AI to identify them across the image and removes every one after a single click?
use the Lenspen SensorKlear before the shoot 😉
What happened to your latest, William? Came for a second look and it's gone. All's good though if you took it down.
Took it down sorry. Will be up another day :) Thanks!
I hope you haven’t left VERO ! You’ll never see my progression,I’ve been working very hard on improving
Nie ma tłumaczenia na język polski :-( pozdrawiam Jarek
That’s a shame! RUclips needs to include that.
