Genius, I made the fix - was able to return the “new” knobs to Amazon. Webber needs to steps up its QC and permanently fix this problem. At this point I’d pay $30-50 for 3rd party knobs with metal inserts.
I have a Weber 470. I just replaced the whole valve assembly, all new burners, and new knobs. I originally bought the bbq for around 2000$ now they are going for 2900. Was very disappointed in WEber when I called an got some gal that could hardly speak english at their call center in freaking Chile....what a sell out Weber!
