Great finds Steve I agree vinyl is usually not worth buying at thrift stores sometimes I'll find a good one I find them at yard sales sometimes but they want to much money so most times I will pass 2xl was a great co-host awsome video
Wow a robot side kick! 😃the records you found are in great condition. 2019 I use to find so many great used records, not anymore. Cds are rare now too. The Melanie record you sent is in such good condition, I was impressed, thanks for finding it! The beach boys record is a score!

I have been waiting for 2XL guest spot and it was wonderful. Still unreal to hear cd is out of print. I hear about the Hooters a lot here. Interesting to remember a time when cd and tapes has different track listings then vinyl. Hope your well
yeh man you are right smack dab in the middle of Hooter Country. If I could find some more clean soundbytes of 2XL I’d have him appear regularly. But it was tough just getting the ones I used.
Some cool stuff Steve! Probably my favorite is the Genesis record. It's not my favorite by them, but I love the track No Reply At All. The robot is cute btw! 😁
Hi Steve, 2-XL seems like a cool fellow. These are solid finds, and way better than what I generally see at local thrift stores. Abacab is a pretty good Genesis record, IMHO. Hooters (the band not the restaurant) are still unknown to me. Really cool minutemen find.
I think 2 - XL should be a permanent guest host! It was definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time. I haven't had a score at a Goodwill like that in years. Those albums look so clean. It's rare to find that CD at any location.
I have never had much luck finding good vinyls at a Goodwill (but have picked up a bunch of CDs and DVDs), so your score was way impressive and crazy cheap It’s funny that you mentioned the ENDLESS SUMMER album being in your parents’ collection because mine had it too. On 8-track. And I was totally thinking about how my sister and I cranked it loud and sang along to every word in the family station wagon when we were kids right before you mentioned that.
I have about 200 albums maybe more. Some of my favorites are the 1st Little River Band, Santana-abraxis, Blackfoot - Strikes, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Head East, Kiss Alive 1, etc. I've had most since the 70s and 80s. Love my vinyl
Big fan of The J Giles Band. I played that record a lot back in the day when it came out. I happen to see the band in 1982 on that tour at the Los Angeles Sports Arena and U2 was the opening band. I had that Beach Boys album in Jr. High and it still holds up today. I have it on CD now. 2XL is a smash hit. Love it!
Oh my lord, a 2XL! I had one of those back when I was a kid and spent many an hour answering his questions and listening to his adventures! Some great vinyl pickups, too! I never bother looking through the vinyl at the thrift stores, even though sometimes I like the easy-listening stuff. But for the time it'd take to flip through the racks to get what little I'd find worth buying, I don't waste my time - I just go straight to the CDs.

Hi Steve. I have a soft spot for Barbra Streisand. Some nice clean finds from the Goodwill - especially The Pretenders, Melanie and The Beach Boys. Patience is a virtue. The Minutemen CD is an amazing find too, especially brand new sealed. I paused the video to look at prices for it on eBay etc before you then mentioned eBay. I used to think all of the SST catalogue remained in print all the time, but I was clearly wrong.

It’s pretty decent. “Sorry it’s not vinyl, some of you might have got excited.” Minutemen were great. I had a couple on cassette that I recorded from a friend’s LPs in the late 80s but they’re long gone. ✌️

I have Freeze Frame on 8-track. :) Centerfold I have on 45 (I'm from a small southern town and my Southern Baptist mom bought it for me - the clerk asked if she really thought it was appropriate? My mom was cool though and trusted me with music and never questioned my choices.) I had the cassette for that Hooters album but sadly I have lost all my cassettes with multiple moves. Great video!

I gave (almost) all my cassettes away prob back in mid2000s cause i just never thought i’d have a use for them again. gave them away free on craigslist too! this was before people started buying cassettes again (which honestly i dont get at all but to each their own.)

A. good bit were bought at a record store from and had a warranty sticker that I put on them with the purchase date and cost. So I hate that I lost them. I have recently purchased a nice cassette deck and started re-buying some cassettes that I remember having as I come across them. However, most of them don't work well anymore so I don't think I'll be buying them anymore. Having said all that, I agree with you, it's hard for me to wrap my head around NEW cassettes being a thing now.
@ yeh the one cassette i wish i didnt give away was my original copy of The Who Face Dances that I bought in 1981. It was one of first things I ever bought with my own money. I should’ve held onto it. I did buy a copy on ebay to just put on shelf but it kinda doesnt mean the same since its not MY cassette. Oh well.

Usually stuff like that all comes together, because 99% of the time it's Barry Manilow, Big Band, Jim Reeves etc. Some of the best vinyl finds I've made at goodwill are Hair of the Dog - Nazareth Screaming For Vengeance - Judas Priest and Eat to the Beat - Blondie I'm kinda with you on The Pretenders, except I do think Learn To Crawl is a great album... otherwise I'm good with a greatest hits

I LOVE The Pretenders - an all time favorite of mine and I don't think I've ever seen that vinyl album - I have the CD. Amongst my least favorite Genesis albums lol. Check out Who Dunnit? In one of my videos as worst song of all time...lol. My favorite Hooters song is them backing Mick Jagger (your favorite) on his Hard Woman 45 - really cool computerized video - you should check it out. I actually never had that Melanie album - she has a lot of albums. That looks nice. Yea that Beach Boys album was THE Beach Boys album back then. That 2 XL is so cool. I've never seen that before. I know you talked about it in the past. You gotta stick an 8 track in that guy - thrift store 8-track...... VIRTUE. Patience is a VIRTUE.
