Aeirth is dead in the original timeline... the reason cloud can see her is that cloud basically opened a new timeline (you can basically see some rainbow after cloud swung sword just about when sephy is about to stab aerith) so for now he could only see her...
@erickreyes7902 almost, Cloud did save Aerith, he defied fate which created a new timeliness branch (this happened at the end of remake too, because they defied fate). Problem is, with the power of the whispers, sephiroth "undone" that. So she ultimately dies in this timeline. However, this new timeliness created, she is still alive. Not sure which Aerith fights alongside Cloud at the end though... i think its OG aerith as she has no holy materia.. it's convoluted, but the mystery still being present is good.
i still feel like thats a huge cop out descision just to delay them choosing if she lives or dies. The last game was about how we CHANGED DESTINY and yet we didn't, MAKE UP YOUR MINDS SQUARE! THIS IS A CRUEL TEASE

My theory is that Cloud did save Aerith, but because only he went through the wall of whispers it means that only he can see the change in the timeline, while others see the OG events. Basically Cloud and the rest of the party are out of sync with each other timeline wise
Loved everything about the ending. As a 7Remake fan, I was hoping they'd show me something equally or more shocking as Remake's and they delivered in waves. I went through a series of emotions + adrenaline rush and Cloud & Aerith's situation sort of reminds me of Sora and Kairi's at the end of KH3 but in reverse.
18:16 I had the same reaction. BUT after watching other versions of this, the prompt is to have Cloud RESIST lifting the sword, not swing it. DO NOT blame you for thinking that as that is what the game FORCED you to do in the OG game so that reaction was warranted.

Yeah it’s a Goliath of a game 😅 when I kept coming across more and more things to do/complete I thought nah I just got to see how this ends 😅 well send the clean up crew in once the credits roll haha. And YES the Vincent encounter was godlike 👏🏻 can’t wait to actually play as him in Part 3 🙏🏻

Like you, I also stopped doing side quests to finish the story. I spent 11 hours in the Grasslands. When I realized how big Junon was…“Nope.” Finished at 72 hours. One more thing to consider: If you’ve seen Advent Children, Cloud could see Aerith throughout the movie. It’s all leading up to it.

Unless…Sephiroth again somehow survives the big fight in the North Crater. I was over 100 hours when i decided to give up on the last few side quests( screw the final Gilgamesh fights) and minigames (screw the cactuar high score bullshit) and just finish the story. Im definitely going back after a few days off to %100
It took me three attempts on the last phase of Jenova Lifeclinger and Final Sephiroth. Had to sit through two of the longest phase transitions in the game. Worth it.
So I should probably explain what's going on from what I've gathered when I played it and actually putting 2 and 2 together the alternate timeline is when Cloud Zack Areith and the rest of the party fight sephiroth and bizzaro sephiroth the current timeline is when you fight jenova underling and cloud seeing areith is just him going insane and being in denial which I see jenovaroth and sephiroth using it against him

That must be a lie bcs i needed over 4 hours+ for the finale phase and damn this was the only boss i got destroyed so hard on..... i played on normal and i had no healing potions left bcs i wasted them all so the only thing for me was left to play perfect without any mistakes. Yozora bossfight was still harder took me 3 whole days. I loved ff7 rebirth ending its perfect but also not finished. I give this game a perfection rank just like KH2

Man yeah I haven’t done absolutely everything in the game and I was 21 minutes short of 100 hours the last Sephiroth fight definitely was tough took me two tries to beat it since it feels so bad if Aerith is by herself and Sephiroth can just zoom and wombo-combo her to DESPAIR but man it felt good playing as Zack loved how his limit break was Rush Assault giving Sephiroth the hands while proving his honor to Angeal!
The original plot of FF7 is already interesting, now they add another multiverse story on top of it… i dont know how theyre gonna tie this together. I hope it doesnt end up too convoluted like KH
I put 157 hours into rebirth and I did everything other than one “secret” fight only accessible once you’ve pretty much 100% the game, so I’d say yes.. you can easily put lots of time into those side quests. Was blown away to see you were only 50 hours or so
To me, this final boss sequence has a lot of similarities to KH2's final boss sequence. Both have the whole party fighting a giant mutation of the main villain, then it transitions to the two protagonists fighting the antagonist as himself in a grey realm. Both fights have the same scale of epicness.
Now here me out. Just imagine Nomura said fuck it let's go crazy and said the reason why FF7 is having these different timelines is cause of Sora's choices from KH3 XD
I was at 120hrs when I finished it and I even skipped properly exploring the Gongaga and Cosmo Canyon regions😂 I played without the minimap so that I visually had to orient and really think and memorize places, which naturally takes more time. 10/10 experience. The final boss was brutal, I managed to beat him at my 11th attempt. That and Rufus were crazy difficult boss fights cause they were primarily action oriented and had only little to do with ATB/your gear.
I haven't finished the game but I will leave a like and come back to this later. I'm like 86 hours in and still haven't finished it lol. Grinding out stuff
i honestly couldnt tell what was going on when they made you press L2 and R2 while raising the sword above Aerith. i wasnt even sure if anything was registering when i pressed it and i wasnt sure if it was saying do that to raise it or bring it down on her so after a certain point i just stopped touching my controller and let whatever happen happen. but i saw that either way, it ends the same with cloud clashing with sephiroth.

Look, i'm a ship and let ship kind of guy, but if we're talking about 'legitimacy of ships' in this game, let me just the data doesn't support that. The main theme is a love song from Aerith to Cloud, she's the princess/love interest in the play in like 4/6 versions of the play, and no matter what she sings the love song. They even seemingly quash Zack x Aerith and have Zack be ok with it. So IMO Cloud x Tifa is still trailing behind Cloud X Aerith in terms of the more 'canon/intended' relationship. I think Zack and Aerith may be the ship in trouble if i had to put money on it.
@@itsdantaylor I see where you are coming from, but considering all of the incredible moments between Tifa and Cloud throughout this game, I personally find it hard to see Cloud and Aerith becoming the new canon. Especially knowing that Tifa will be the one to help Cloud piece himself back together in the lifestream in part 3. It also seems weird to bring Zack and Aerith back to life (potentially I know that's not 100% confirmed) just to split up both Zack x Aerith and Cloud x Tifa and make Cloud x Aerith canon. I think the most they will do is introduce a new "pick your partner" event in part 3 that lets you romance whoever you want instead of the game defaulting to Tifa as the only option, but I really doubt it considering Aerith probably won't be around until the final final battle.

Just finished tonight at 115 hours and all i have to say is....FUCK that sephiroth fight!!!! Took me 5 or 6 tries and i almost rage quit because i died with a slice of his health left multiple times. That hail mary final move that he has sucks so hard. Anyway....apart from that...this game was a beast and i loved every minute of it. I was never bored and i still have so much to do. Cant wait for part 3! ❤
I know it's your own playthrough but I really don't think it's worth it to rush through the game just to see the ending as if there isn't still a third part coming out lol. I can't imagine missing out on so much content on my first run for no reason.
The side stuff is part of the story if u miss all the other stuff u won't get the full story n thats,the problem with the reviews people just rushing threw the story n giving bad reviews
I was at 90 hours by the end of the game at level 49-50 i did some of the sidequest that i can do, did the Colosseum fights at GS and card carnival + GS queensblood to get cards, must admit i wasn't too keen on the queenblood game at first but when i started winning it got fun and addictive

It also seems weird to bring Zack and Aerith back to life (potentially I know that's not 100% confirmed) just to split up both Zack x Aerith and Cloud x Tifa and make Cloud x Aerith canon. I think the most they will do is introduce a new "pick your partner" event in part 3 that lets you romance whoever you want instead of the game defaulting to Tifa as the only option, but I really doubt it considering Aerith probably won't be around until the final final battle.

Just finished tonight at 115 hours and all i have to say is....FUCK that sephiroth fight!!!! Took me 5 or 6 tries and i almost rage quit because i died with a slice of his health left multiple times. That hail mary final move that he has sucks so hard.
Anyway....apart from that...this game was a beast and i loved every minute of it. I was never bored and i still have so much to do. Cant wait for part 3! ❤

I know it's your own playthrough but I really don't think it's worth it to rush through the game just to see the ending as if there isn't still a third part coming out lol. I can't imagine missing out on so much content on my first run for no reason.

48 hours? I was on the 75 hour mark by the time I beat the game
I was at 90 hours by the end of the game at level 49-50 i did some of the sidequest that i can do, did the Colosseum fights at GS and card carnival + GS queensblood to get cards, must admit i wasn't too keen on the queenblood game at first but when i started winning it got fun and addictive
my complaint they swapped the music for Forbidden Capital which is an outrage now someone please mod the OG track into Rebirth🎉
