It was windy yesterday, and at this time of year we can get some extra strong winds. I was walking across the parking lot from my car at Lowe’s and there was one gust that was so strong I thought was going to knock me down before I could reach the entrance.
Yeah, you can see how windy it was with that choppy water. But I guess all the containers were empty. So I suppose the big flat sides of the stack of containers was like a sail almost.
No mention of the water taxi captain's quick thinking in using his vessel to nudge the barge away from hitting the nearby tourist piers by the Seattle Aquarium or Great Wheel? Seriously, the aquarium is literally two piers over. Apparently, he was able to push it away and slow it down enough to limit the damage.
So you jumped off the pier into the freezing waters of wa to save your life from a ship that was going so slow you could have just left the dock by foot before it hit??? Is that what I'm reading? And now you're gonna sue? Lol
wow i'm really glad everyone was safe, what a miracle no one was injured or near at that time. 🙂
You're telling me wind was strong enough to move a boat? This is crazy
It probably happened yesterday, it was soooooooo windy!

Someone at FOSS Maritime told me the containers were all empty. And only scuffs to the bumpers on the dock. No damage.
How many hundreds of thousands of tons just drifting around?
It was lucky there wasn't a storm, or a canal to block 🫣...
Damn, I’m glad everyone is okay. That’s pretty scary
Thank God for the US Coast Guard
The water taxi captain was the real hero.

Yeah, big miss on this news blurb. The damages to the pier would have been much worse.

10 min crew!
“After hitting Pier 66, three Coast Guard tugboats obtained control of the barge” dangling modifier.
Couldn’t someone just have given it a little push?
Wow
What an unremarkable event lol
Only because a Water Taxi diverted this barge. This video is lacking some big details
Wow, now we have loose barges just hitting piers? Thanks a lot Biden!
Pier 66 where all the PG SHARP players at.
Must be infrastructure week in America.
