It amazes me that so many people visit cemetery’s..like it’s an art museum. Great walk sir, and thank you for sharing this amazing final resting place.
I have always enjoyed really old cemeteries. The headstones, statues, and little poetry down below....and some of the detailed art work on some is amazing for way back then. There is an old one kinda close to where I live....and there are two large half shells, and in each one is a wrapped baby (all in stone), beautiful in detail. Another is a tall statue of a woman from the late 1800's, and it reads: "Here lies the most perfect woman. Friend, wife, mother...here is perfection. Wait for me my love." Wow..imagine being loved so much.
"Fugit hora, carpe diem et memento mori" - in essence "the hours speed by so seize the day, remembering you will die" (sometimes "tempus fugit" - time flies").
I know homelessness is a problem in uk cities but the disrespect for the dead is appalling. The police or council should be doing something about this desecration.
What, you mean like giving the homeless somewhere else to go? You know, paying a little respect to the LIVE people.... Cos I gotta say, people don't sleep in cemetaries cos its a fun wheeze.... they do it because they have to, and Karen comments like yours don't help ANYone.
Excellent video, I felt the same way that you did when you read that inscription and I couldn’t help thinking about Peter Sellers when the guy with the dark mustache, coat and hat showed up again 😂 thank you.
Thankyou on behalf of all of us in Australia and beyond that can’t easily get to these incredible places you visit to respect all of those that went before us….
These old cemeteries are so interesting. I do have to say though, I would not want to be in there alone after dark. I would be so creeped out. And how perfect was the crow cawing during your filming?!
I read a book in the 1970's about how people were so poor in pre-revolutionary France that there were homeless who would sleep in the mausoleums and down in the underground bone repositories... and here we go again.
Dan, your videos never disappoint. The shot of the castle reminded me of a similar view in Salzburg. Hope you’ve managed to cheer yourself back up by now.😊
I visited this cemetery when I was on the ghost bus tour. We were told not to turn around if we were tapped on the shoulder. Needless to say I had a lot of fun scaring the wife and other people on the tour.
AT ONE POINT YOU WOULD NEED TO HAVE HAD LOTS OF MONEY TO HAVE BEEN BURIIED IN THIS CEMETERY, ALSO THE GRAVEROBBERS BURKE & HARE WERE APPARENTLY KNOWN TO VENTURE INTO HERE.
Fugit Hora is Latin for Time Flies. Often mentioned on graves with the hourglass motif to symbolize mortality. Sometimes, the inscription also reads Tempus Fugit, which has the same meaning. Request you to do a tour of graves with symbols like the Masonic symbols. Thank you.
❤ Greetings. Hello from Brooklyn NY. Hope you had a great Halloween. I dressed up as a skeleton. Looking forward to receiving my sticker. All the best.😊
Crawford monument looks like cast iron…very unusual! Do yourself a favor, wear muckers to cemeteries. The ground is usually wet and dirty. Once home, wipe them off. I wear them while cleaning gravestones.
New Orleans famous Lafayette Cemetery was closed for a time as it was overrun with homeless who trashed the property. They had been sleeping and living there with no respect regarding the deceased. It’s a HUGE tourist attraction and the condition of the cemetery was terrible.
Really cool cemetary! One of those stones said Alexander Pitcairn. I thought (maybe) he was connected to Pitcairn Island, instead that was named after Robert Pitcairn who sadly was lost at sea a few years after. Alexander was an English Cricketer who won in (9) 1st class matches 1750-1814 ( if its the same guy)?
The symbol of the three crosses is a reminder of the Crucifixion, when Jesus and the two thieves were crucified together. The story is touching and can be found in Luke 23:39-43.

Hello from Tucson, Arizona! Our old graveyards here are just piles of rocks in the desert sand with maybe with a wooden cross. I've never seen anything like this. Are the deceased buried in the ground in front of their monument or is it like mausoleum?
This man is so cool. His respect for the dead, and also, for his subscribers is exemplary. I think it's called "class".

Love gothic cemeteries they are my favourite
George Winton (1759-1822) was an 18/19th century Scottish architect builder responsible for large sections of the New Town in Edinburgh.
I love these old cemetery’s you take us to! I love them all bk and moldy and the newest ones too! Your the guy! Thank you!
I thought that sleeping bag had someone in it too.. awesome video my friend!
Beautiful and so peaceful.
It's come to something when people have to sleep in a graveyard

I don’t see it as disrespectful, just my opinion. A lot of homeless people fear being robbed and attacked. They’ve got no help. 💕

Fugit Hora - Latin for the hours fly or Time Flies. Thanks for all the walking you do so we can see these beautiful cemeteries!
Catching replay regards to Cathy and Dan I am enjoying this one
I read a book in the 1970's about how people were so poor in pre-revolutionary France that there were homeless who would sleep in the mausoleums and down in the underground bone repositories... and here we go again.
"Which I have paid and so must you" yikes, what a message to leave behind. They aren't wrong but still...
Dan, your videos never disappoint. The shot of the castle reminded me of a similar view in Salzburg. Hope you’ve managed to cheer yourself back up by now.😊
Greetings from Poteet Texas
Great video Dan and enjoyed the walk.
Mary Hamilton's headstone was actually a bit depressing. I find these ancient graveyards so interesting
I visited this cemetery when I was on the ghost bus tour. We were told not to turn around if we were tapped on the shoulder. Needless to say I had a lot of fun scaring the wife and other people on the tour.
Thanks Dan . Sorry to miss this and our other members, but usual night shift.
Sending good vibes 😃👍
For some reason, I’m not getting notifications so I missed it with Sir Ian
Thank you Ian
Some rich people with impressive graves, others homeless
AT ONE POINT YOU WOULD NEED TO HAVE HAD LOTS OF MONEY TO HAVE BEEN BURIIED IN THIS CEMETERY, ALSO THE GRAVEROBBERS BURKE & HARE WERE APPARENTLY KNOWN TO VENTURE INTO HERE.
interesting bit of information
greetings from the Hudson Valley.
Love yr channel. 'Fugit hora' is Latin for 'The hour flies', literally. But is meant to mean 'Time flies'. Cheers
Top one again Dan. Always a pleasure to watch. 👏
Oh, I've just Joined your channel too.
Hi Kev, thanks for joining. Really appreciate it
Thank you Dan!
I thought the loitering man was after you. I must have been wrong. Very lovely masoleums and graveyard Dan. Thank you.
Thanks for the video , very enjoyable .👍🏻
Death is a debt to nature I paid and so must you ❤

Watching from Guyana South America
Enjoyed the video!❤
I live near C S Lewis and Tolkien. Just outside oxford if you’re ever down. Flowers regularly put on both graves. Thanks for a great video
❤ Greetings. Hello from Brooklyn NY. Hope you had a great Halloween. I dressed up as a skeleton. Looking forward to receiving my sticker. All the best.😊
I have a t-shirt that says Future Ghost on it.
Enjoying the videos hope I get a chance to visit those places, I’m guessing homeless sleep there cuz it’s the safest place to be in
What I heard years ago
Man I was distracted by all the sirens, all hell was breaking loose while you calmly strolled along. 😋
@6:00
This one looks like a big fireplace with a gravestone in place if the fire.
Essentially, animals dont pee & poo where they sleep. Leave it to humans.

What a beautiful place
Fascinating, where were you?
Fugit hora= time flies
Morrison's Academy is still in operation. I wonder if they bother to maintain his grave?
Don't be depressed Dan, time is one dimension of eleven, & our consciousness lives on. 😊🌈🌞

How come you are in Edinburgh so much at the moment?
The symbol of the three crosses is a reminder of the Crucifixion, when Jesus and the two thieves were crucified together. The story is touching and can be found in Luke 23:39-43.
What’s going on that Edinburgh isn’t taking care of their cemeteries? Very disappointing
Fort George was built after the Battle of Culloden in Scotland.

Fugit Hora is Latin for Time flies or The hour flies.
“Such a long long time to be gone and a short time to be there”
I googled it and it appears to be another way of saying “time flies”.

Time flies-fugit hora
1797 that is like nearly 240 years ago amazing
"The Hours Fly"
There is no excuse for allowing this desecration of tombs.
Where is this cemetery?
Hi Dan! Fugit means to flee and Hora is a Romanian/Israeli dance. Fabulous walk! Always enjoy your channel.
I somehow missed the hidden crypt below a foot path.
Baby Hugh Watson ❤💔
Wish you skipped the Hamiltons at 15:40.
What country is that???
Scotland
😊😊😊😊😊😊
