- The Lab Band's 2017 season kicks off with our tribute to the British-American rock band Foreigner. Formed in 1976 by Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, Foreigner is one of the world's best-selling bands with sales of more than 80 million records. From the band's debut album through the release of "Agent Provocateure" in 1984 they produced multiple hits including "Feels Like the First Time", "Hot Blooded", "Urgent" and the number one smash "I Want to Know What Love Is". We've picked 5 songs that we feel showcase Foreigner's detailed approach to songwriting and production. For this 22nd Episode we invited James Cornett, along with Amanda, Kaitlynne and Jessica to join us and hope you enjoy our take on one of classic rocks most recognized bands. Geez, I can't get over how good this is! All the little grins from everyone during this video show how good they think it is! I have watched/listened to this so many times and every time it just gets better. Love this Foreigner set so much.

I watch you guys almost daily and for a long time Hitch a Ride was my favorite but lately this one...man it's just too good. And to the ladies, although subtle, I think this is one of the best performances, save maybe Edge of Seventeen, which is phenomenal.

I was stationed in San Diego in the Navy when this song came out in 1978. We always had a radio on in the shop, and they played this song every hour. brings back some memories!

Best band I've ever heard, and I was listening to this stuff in the 70s. The most gorgeous ladies I've ever seen, and boy can they sang.

I left a comment a while back on this song, so I hope that you don't mind a second one. Each time I listen to your videos, I hear something that I may have missed before. The little guitar parts at 2:14, and 2:24, are so tasteful. As I have said in the past, the attention to detail that you guys bring to the songs are what set you head and shoulders above any cover bands that I have played in or have heard. Take care. Sure brings back some serious memories! Saw Foreigner many times when I was a kid. They used to have "Rock Superbowls" all over back then. Got a lot of sunburns going to them. They were weekend events and we camped at most of them. Right in the middle of the 70's. I lived in Florida and there was almost never any weather problems. Heart, Firefall, BOC (GODZILLA!!!! NEVER forget the drummer falling over backwqrds and coming up with the Godzilla headware on!) , Seger, REO, Cheap Trick, and usually about 20 local bands pretty much played about 20 hours a day. Crazy times for sure! Glad to survive it!

The driving chorus always sent goosebumps up me in the original and even more so in this cover. Clinically faithful in tone, instruments and every little nuances to the original. More to the point, you cover all the tracks that I grew up listening to from the enriched period from the mid 70’s to mid mid 80’s.

Another amazing cover, I could listen to you guys all day. Problem is you run out of superlatives! Despite the many hits and great songs Foreigner had, this first single and my introduction to them remains my favorite song of theirs, and probably one of my all time faves of any group. The bit at the end of the middle bridge where "never again" is finally repeated and flows into the harmony chorus still causes the hairs on my neck to stand up.... simply superb, and superbly reproduced here!
totally with you - i remember this as the first song by Foreigner i ever hear and the opening guitar just grabbed me and i still love it just as much today. Fair to say we were fortunate to grow up with SO MUCH great music! Hope all is good, your friend, dale.

I saw Foreigner live back before they were the big headliners. They were somewhere between a new band called Van Halen and AC/DC and were in the first half of the multi-headliner show.......this was the late 70s......... Nice choice/research on the Ricky bass, that's exactly what Ed Gagliardi (a lefty?) was using that day of Day On The Green at the Oakland Colosseum. The funny thing I remembered was just how much Ed looked like my bass player whose name was also Ed....... You all did a great job at catching the vibe of the song as well as the tone too. ":^)

I don't even like Foreigner, but Holy Cow. That was great. Everybody was in the groove. Really good! Oh Dale, btw I tried to get tickets for Joe Bonamassa Mon. night after your email and guess what, the concert was cancelled. Apparently Joe was sick. The crazy thing is that when I looked at the venue website on Sun. there was no mention of cancellation. I guess that it was not meant to be. Thanks again for your advice on Joe and of course thanks for sharing your wonderful music!
