Had one of these as a hire car on holiday. Totally agree, it's a functional, solid easy car to drive. Park assist comes as standard. Having never used park assist before I was blown away his crazily good it is, street parking made simple and it even drives out the parking space too...... Couldn't believe how clever it is. Loved this car, sad to hand it back after a week and return to our old car 😟
I had an Ateca for 7 years and loved it. I changed it for the 2024 model with auto gear box. But I am very disappointed with the sat nav it's dreadful not user friendly at all.
Just a little observation,mention 110 bhp, couple times ,think that’s the kw figure, like my Leon estate, shame they don’t do a new version based on mk4 Leon , but with the updated infotainment that has the backlights etc , do like your reviews Jim!!
Hi. I want to get the Ateca 1.5 TSI but the one we have in my country is coming only with 8 speed Automatic gear (which is not DSG). Do you happen to know about its performance as compared to the DSG and if this would affect the driving feel and acceleration. P.S. I own a Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0 , and i will but the Ateca for my wife and out general use
There's a number 1 showing in top right hand corner of radio display , how do I access what it is ? I tap on it, which any normal person would set it where you tap on the number 1 and it opens up whatever it is , I haven't a clue what it is and try as I might I can't find what it's for and it's driving me nuts

The old format of the late 90s early 2000s was more appealing. I mean the one where you reviewed more similar cars but not extremely in-depth. That had a lot of entertainment value. Maybe with a voice over you can tie up together many reviews of modern cars that are similar. Episodes like that at least twice a year would be more charming to watch than individual cars.
liked your video on the seat ateca was informative im due upgrade on my motability car at the mo i drive a skoda kamiq and the seat got more as standard things like reverse camera and park assist which with skoda are options also metallic paint as standard so i did test drive and ordered the 1.5 auto 150 ps engine experience model cant wait. great video
I purchased a 1.5 tsi DSG in Experience trim nearly 12 months ago and it's been a lovely car to drive and own. As I paid cash for the car with no trade in, the clincher for me was that I managed to get a 21% discount on a current plate pre - reg car with delivery mileage only. This 1.5 engine suits the DSG box really well and makes for relaxed driving, on a recent 345 mile trip to Scotland it was averaging 51 -54 mpg on the A1 driving between 65 - 70 mph. Obviously, this drops when you're doing short trips, but overall consumption is pretty good, just a matter of keeping the right foot under control! If there's one little niggle, it would be the later VW infotainment system fitted on the car, I find it not the easiest to navigate, but then again, I am an old codger!! I previously owned a Skoda Karoq with the same engine and gearbox, and I would say that it didn't handle as well on fast twisty roads as the Ateca, but it was a great all rounder. I would definitely recommend anyone to try either car if your looking for a mid size SUV, and I think i'm right in saying that both models are built on the same production line at the factory in the Czech Republic.
Complex one but the weight reduction can help with tax savings, obviously it costs the manufacturer a bit less too. Majority of new cars are this way now with a spare wheel often an optional extra (really!).

Yeah, as previously said, 110 PS is for the 1.0 turbo, the 1.5 turbo is 150 PS 12:48
Got the Xperience Lux 1.5 and have to say it is the best car I have owned in 52 years of driving. An amazing car in every way.

It's a 110kw,150 hp 250 nm motor.
Pretty sure the Ateca doesn't come with the 3 cylinder 110 hp...

The 19 inch wheels don't cope well with the road surface, you tend to feel every bump.

I found this information on the web after i bought my Ateca, but have never experienced any issues. Must have been resolved via updates.
3 years and 39000 into a 2021 FR4 Sport with no issues with the infotainment or anything else ..
Just stupid people on forums talking rubbish. Never Google ' problems ' because you will them on there, even if they don't exist.
