As far as I can tell, the programming cable driver is no longer available on the website, if it ever was.
It is not included with the programming software download, and is not listed on the product page for the radio or product page for cable.
Only firmware and programming software.
We'll see if it works without it.
How can I reset the radio via bottoms? Appears 0.000000 and i cannot do nothing on computer.
Hey just ran into this same problem. Was rooting around in the settings, and next thing I know the radio is locked at the frequencie on the read out and you cannot do anything from buttons or computer. Is there a solution or should I send radio back?
Got a couple of these in the mail, new to radios but the RT83 seems like a great starter unit with room to grow. Thanks for the setup video!

could you help me? l have 2 rt83, but when i connect the usb and try to read the radio said "communication timeout"
Does this radio have a superheterodyne receiver or direct conversion ?
I realize this is an old video, but if I understand correctly there is no way to import the pertinent information for analog the way you would using chirp which lets you bulk load repeaters? Likewise well there are 130,000 plus digital ID.s these are not batch uploadable either? Can't batch in weather. So you have 3,000 channels but you have to want to spend the rest of your life doing data entry? And DMR is interesting why?
Whenever i put in the freq it just reverts back to the original frq idk what im doing wrong
I thought this was 70cm only? Does it support 2m too?
It’s 70cm only, strange thing is tho that it actually accepts some 2m programming, I think it even TXs on 2m if programmed but doesn’t receive 2M. Officially, it’s 70cm only
Tech Minds interesting I won one so I need to get my head around programming it. Interesting the box says 400-470 but the book says it
covers 2m too.
@@TechMindsOfficial Don't suppose you found any decent codeplugs online as a starting point, its slow going adding each one by hand when full codeplugs are available for other radios. I need to have a tinker and see if I can edit in excel to repurpose an RDT one perhaps.
Actually kind of irrelevant, the radio locked up updating and wont respond to anything now lol
Oh dear, that’s not good. Have you tried a hard reset? Instructions should be in the manual on how to do that. If not, contact Retevis will fix it for you.
Does this radio have promiscuous mode?

This radio is only good for paper weight can not program it.
