Reebok Pump Shaq Attaq 2022 Retro - Is The 30th Anniversary Pair Good?

- There is so much to be said about this specific Reebok Basketball model and if you have been with my channel for the last almost 10 years, you saw plenty of versions and colorways of it. It's no secret that the Pump Shaq Attaq is in my top 5 sneaker models of all time, I have such a huge memories and nostalgia towards this model, it was the highest desired model back in 92-93, everyone I know wanted it, but only a few can afford it. Now I have over 30 pairs in my collection and I am so happy to be able to finally buy and enjoy them. Unfortunately the 2022 pair brings very little to the table and the quality has dropped significantly compared to the previous releases.

That's a shame all these companies are giving the consumers less quality but the prices are not going lower of course
Facts. I also hate that with alot of cases and raffles and draws we can't find out the quality until after we purchased it. Not like back in the days where we can go in the store like and cop it. Smh.

@@danilogonzalezmx adidas is pretty much the only major company to me that’s not lowering their quality and raising their prices. Other than Yeezys adidas does pretty solid. Their boxes are ass though
I like your reviews when it comes to Reebok sneakers, I consider you "The Authority" when it comes to Reebok sneakers, just like for Nike, Adidas, Fila ect I got my go too guys for those respectively. I did purchase this pair as I did have the 2013 pair, but sold....I think with current global inflation and Reebok having a few ownership changes. That's why this sneaker is different, yea I agree it's not worth the price, but neither are a lot of the Nike, Adidas and Fila sneakers either that are coming out, and most Jordan Brand sneakers have shot up to extreme amounts compared to what they even use to be a year ago. I think now in days with Hypebeasts and these being more lifestyle than they were back when you were coming up, Reebok and Shaq know people are going to buy them, heck some people even doubling up. Sad to say these are the times. Although I do feel the price is steep for what you're getting. It's a cash grab at the end of the day, and they know people will buy them. That's my take on it though. Love the videos, keep up the good work.

Trent, thanks for the honest review - I had no intention of purchasing this pair as my 2013 pair is in mint condition. That said the cutbacks are disappointing - the $180 price tag all but guarantees that these will be in outlets in a few months for 1/2 off at the bare minimum.
I'd love for the Preacher and Dunk Mob to be reissued some day but with these cheap materials and overall diminished quality it's hard to get excited.
For what it's worth, I think the Preacher and Dunk Mob were using synthetic materials too. Old Eastbay catalogues list the Preacher as having a "Clarino synthetic upper."
And also I just wanted to let you know that you do not need to justify your opinion and the fact that you're getting some stuff from Reebok at all. You're a stand-up first class person and your true fans respect you and would never question that about you you're Integrity speaks for itself! Keep giving these great reviews keep giving your honest opinion and you will continue to grow!
Thankful my grandmother bought me the original pair in '92 for 120! I was also able to grab a 2013 pair

I woke at 11pm my time for the release on Reeboks website. But I’m not surprised Shaq didn’t lower the price because he don’t want his name on products with a price that people can’t afford. That’s why he sold his products at Walmart.

I’ve always wanted these and I’m super excited for the release but, after seeing how cheap the leather on the toe box looks … I’m not sure. I totally agree with you that the price should be cheaper if the materials are not up to par. Nice video btw! 👍🏽

Well it seems like Reebok took the Jordan brand way when it comes to shoe materials but hopefully they drop more colors and bring back the REAL leathers. I know on Reebok website they are going fast.
I'm not sure how shoe companies are allowed to be very vague with their materials. On the Reebok Australia website; they describe this as "leather and synthetic upper". This is the sneaker version of shrinkflation - where they normal paying nearly $200 for synthetic (which will look horrid after a month); when $200 used to get you as much leather as a couch.
Glad I still have my 2013 pair it's weird for reebok to skimp on the leather for these but use full grain leather on the Questions an Answers
I still have the black and white pair from 2013 that's still brand new. The quality then was better and they weren't $180.

Bummer, reebok usually is pretty on point with the materials on their retros. Was gonna cop these but was assuming the quality was gonna be nice. Now I'm not too sure

I want this since a was a kid I finally got them I don't care about the material or anything I'm happy with it.
thanks for the review. i had mine before in 93. wear em for hoops. so ended up with creases in the toe part ( which i think is the only thing i dont like) but the design?? its one of the best design. and stil love it. like to ask, how many times did they re issue this shoe??

I still have my 2017 25th anniversary Shaqs in red/white which seem to be made much closer to the 2013 model you've shown here. All genuine leather, hard midsole and reinforced toebox.

Just copped a pair in a size 11.5
Was at a Reebok outlet today. They had a ton of these at 50% off $150. After feeling the cheap material, I wouldn't even pay the $75. I have the retro from a few years ago and its night and day better quality, even though the graphite was not done as good as the original. The 2022/2023 versions are literally like Payless shoes.
How would you compare these to the 2017 release?
I was fortunate enough to get the 2013 release and love them as much as you do. I copped the last release and was devastated that the pumps didn't work. Now $280 Australian dollarydoos for the 2022 pair with no key chain or decent pump mechanism... I'll give it a miss this time.

@@trenellsmith9057 The recent Ghostbusters/Nerf/Jurassic collabs are examples of way more than less. The boxes were as impressive as the sneakers 🙌 Then a 30th anniversary release of a unique and much sought after sneaker and they can't manage a hang tag for the extra $60.
I almost bought that shoe in 92 prefered the Jordan 8 aqua but didnt find my size so bought diamond turfs
I always wait till their prices drop.. they are charging more for their shoes nowadays , meanwhile😢 their shoe Quality plummets..
Man it sucks that the shoe is so expensive for such shitty quality. But there still beautiful for sure but I'll wait for it to go on sale

Hi. Thanks for the review. Additional question: we can see that the toe box "leather" is crazy thin & deformable. What about creasing? material always come back in position without creasing? Or immediate and irreversible creasing?
It will eventually crease, no doubt. But the Shaq Attaq was known to crease a lot.
@@kicksreason Yes. Due to how lateral panels come onto the toe box, hard to avoid creasing. But when I see how you push on the 2022 toe box, I'm quite surprise to see how it seems to come back correctly. Maybe because synthetic leather, right? With true leather, would be another history... :) I just ordered mine this morning. I'll compare with my 2017 on feet, then see if I keep the 2022 or not...

I have 2 pairs of the previous release from 2017… so I think I’m going to pass for this one… the box is different I like it… you’re also saying they below the materials quality so…

Disappointed to hear about the leather on the upper, especially given how nice the materials have been on the recent Iverson and Pump Omni Zone releases.

The Attaq has always been TTS for me, it's plenty wide and my toes are not struggling
Boy, reebok releases are either 🔥 or 🥶 lately. The AIs leather is amazing, etc. These, not so much.

If you account for inflation, this $180 pair would have been $85 in 1992. Seems fair to me. It's not like the originals had great leather either... it may have all been genuine leather, but it was still sneaker leather, which isn't great.

Yeah this is a great review but it's so disappointing to see Reebok cheapen out even further on these, I was disappointing with with the last pair I got and these ones are even worse! how much would you pay to have them remade with real leather?
Back in the day, there were companies that were undisputed when it came to quality; reebok, adidas and Fila to name a few. So those toe box shots hurt my heart. It doesn't even have the shaq tag or a proper pump, total failure...makes me question the authenticity of that carbon plate. In fact does adidas still own reebok? I think that could be a factor also.

It really is sad that Reebok and other brands don't put real care into their retro products anymore. They know we will buy them anyway so I suppose they just don't care about anything but $$$$

Some RUclipsrs say there good some day there bad. Get them and see for yourself. Reebok pumps have never had great leather.
