nice one Matt. i personally think the 12ftlbs TDR is the better option to go for when buying a TDR, the reason for this is because you mentioned that its not a 100 yard gun so you will us it in short distance pesting like me shooting at the school and i think its more safe to shoot with a 12ftlbs rifle in a urban environment than with a 30ftlbs rifle. great video i really enjoyed it
+AirGunnerSA I love the 12 ft.lb version, and that's a very good point. I think this one will be really nice for shooting hares and springhares though!
Another very nice review! I especially appreciated the comparison of shot count and the fact you were not shy about admitting to tweaking the S 510 Extra to obtaining your very solid performance. Keep up the great work! Virginia, USA
This is one of those rifles begging to be regulated. It continues to annoy me that manufacturers push out high priced rifles that are effectively half finished, a regulator fitted during manufacture would cost very little, yet make rifles such as this so much better. That said out of all PCP's I have worked on / shot, I have found that the Air Arms brand (in sub 12 ft/lbs at least) has a far more usable power curve.
I would love to know how to adjust the hammer spring on an S410 on a FAC model. Am in the US; would actually beneficial to see quality sub 12ft/lbs pcps avalible with good shot count
Unless I am mistaken, suppressor rules in the US only apply to powder burners and not air-rifles. Worth checking on perhaps.....! I like the gun.......!
I'm not 100 persent sure but I thought if the suppressor was spot welded on to the barrel so it couldn't be removed you were ok. I remember someone telling me that if you can take it off and use it " once " on a powder burner your'e in trouble. I guess I'm going to do some research to find out.
Very nice informative video Matt, the fact you can pack the rifle away into such a small case that looks nothing like a rifle in a gun slip would make it a very good gun for pest control in sensitive areas though as you said the low shot count might be a problem if you are presented with a lot of targets.
hi from uk ... i think the 12 ft lb is for me of course i do like that i can shrink it into a case and so does not look like a gun case your carrying , people get spooky about such things ... nice review cheers
What a lovely piece of kit! The 12 foot-pound model was lovely; this FAC-rated model takes it to another level. You added a lot of good insight here as well, Matt. People often forget that a lighter rifle means less stability. Great review- many thanks! Virginia/USA
Thank you for sharing your evaluation. I really appreciate the fact you are extremely thorough and cover the various topics in depth. Keep up the great work!
Yeah he has been a big champion for .20 cal for a long time, I have long been interested in the calibre. The custom S410 he does is pretty sweet as well
Hi Matt I'm from Australia no such things as silencers here we have very strict gun laws . Pcp Air rifles in this country not as big as other country's but is starting to grow I have a25 Marauder very accurate and powerful and I love it . As always another great video plenty of info .Cheers Dean.
Suppressors are completely legal in almost all U.S. states(42 states). If you can legally own a firearm, then you can purchase a suppressor/silencer. There is a fee and a waiting period unfortunately. The good news is that in all likelihood, the law will be repealed soon. Great channel!
I think you have done the s410 TDR FAC a disservice regarding it's accuracy... because of the scope cam you were using.... you weren't holding the rifle... yes it was on a bipod but you did not have that weapon under control... so to conclude it is just a bit recoilly and is accurate if shot like 99.9% of users will. It is very easy to see how a FAC air rifle can move before the pellet has left the barrel in the situation you have shown. X
Good honest review Matt. I would like to see how the tdr performs with a regulator and adjusted slightly down from 30 fpe to about 18 - 20 fpe. It should cure the string issue making for a nice flat string but I wonder what the shot count would look like.
Hmm, I've never heard of silencers being illegal for air rifles in the states. I can't speak for every state, but I know there is nothing federal that would prevent it as a blanket law and it's legal here in North Carolina.
Hi Matt, I'm from Holland and we also have no power restrictions on airrifles. I had the same TDR in .22 cal 12flb but it disappointed me in many ways ! the loose and weird trigger, the case were only 1" scopes can be placed, but most of all.. The bolt. I had to move the bolt very hard in forward position when loading a pellet, otherwise it get stuck all the time .. Very annoying, overall is is a very nice rifle ! But those little things made me sell it. Groeten vanuit Nederland Cas
Mvg cas
Been wanting one of these for a while. Wondering if the magazine cycles some of the longer pellets smoothly. My Ataman magazine will simply not take some of the longer brands like the polymags and jsb heavies, which is really frustrating because my rifle likes them both. They get jammed in the magazine when I cycle it.
Hey Matt, howzit here from Scotland, its been a while since we last spoke. Its great to see how far you have come with your channel, awesome job. I was wondering if you could see Louis if he could install a regulator in that TDR will flatten the curve quite a bit. Also check out Ben Taylor and Son(BTAS)air rifles in the UK, Ben does and awesome job installing regs in AA guns and giving them a sweet all over tune. Cheers
I thought of installing a reg in the TDR, but I just can't afford it at the moment. I have no doubt that I could get 50+ shots from this gun with a reg installed
I have an Air Arams S410 rifle, but I ran into a problem as I pulled the trigger in the middle and immediately accepted the shot, which caused me to hear a sound whenever I raised the rifle or down. I don’t know Can you help me? Thank you.
Hey Matt i was wondering what flip up scope caps you had on your sidewinder in the video at 19:00. It looked like they screwed into the sunshade and eye piece threads. All i have seen are slip on ones but yours seem like a better design. Thanks.
Let's see how many folks will tell you where they're from, ...... I'm in Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. I have a question here Matt, you've probably told us before, but what is the make and model of the Scope that you are using in this video ? I like this video a lot,..there is a lot of information here, and it's a great rifle review. Thanks.
Matt I'm from Arizona. I saw you cooking in the SA heat, for better or worse I think our climates are a lot alike. Question: do you have plans to regulate the S410 TDR FAC to correct the fps consistency, how difficult/expensive would that be?
+Michael Neumeyer The heat isn't too bad here on the coast - But yes, the climate is very similar to Arizona! I don't have plans to regulate it yet, I will see how it goes for a few months before making that decision. It isn't too difficult, and it would probably set you back about $120
+AirArmsHuningsa. love the S410 take down and $120 is not bad for the added performance. BTW we're waaaaay inland, our hot days are 118°F+. thanks for the info, Cheers!
Cool review matt. I jut wanted to mention accuracy wise don't you think you regulated s510 could be the reason for your tighter groups too as there is a lower deviation of fps in between shots?
It's my understanding that here in Th US if a surpressor is integrated into the barrel so that it can't be removed it's no problem. Otherwise to have one is a pain. It's dumb.
There is a way of getting a suppressor in the US. The legal way is very expensive, not worth it for one that is only "air" rated. In many states they are outright banned. I want to combine the laws of a few countries so we all can have the best of both worlds so to speak.
I have a Benjamin discovery and I was going to upgrade to a bt65 but decided instead to upgrade my discovery. Anyone know where I could buy a bull pup stock for it
If you want the wildcat then I'd say just save up for it instead of putting money into the discovery. Adding a bullpup stock won't make it more accurate then it already is. The hatsan was an improvements but the wildcat is a huge upgrade!
+CA Airgunner yea I know he bullpup stock won't make it more accurate I just love bull pups, hint why I want the wildcat, but it will be awhile till then and I have gotten a lot more air gunning opportunitys latley and I would like a gun the performs a little better but thank you
I totally understand why people living in other countries want more power than 12 ft lbs. We can buy more powerful air rifles in the UK as long as you get a licence. However I'm a fan of what we can get over here purely down to the shot count. 17 useasble shots!! Seriously restrictive if you're hunting. Most sub 12ft lb rifles give you more that 200 now, especially regulated rifles like the new Wildcat :-)
Nice job matt, but regulate guns are the future and Air Arms really needs to step up. You have proven it yourself, you're 510 shot good unregulated, but shoots much better now that its regulated.
and woe partner come but once in your channel as a big fan her ... but I wanted to know if you have how you make a gift of a rifle to me? if possible please I do not have conditions to buy a .... I live in Brazil earned ...
This thing is trash! Not worth the $$$$. Benjamin Marauder pistol/carbine is a much better option. Is smaller, equally accurate, more powerful, can be configured for as a pistol or as a carbine, extra magazines cost 1/8 of the AirArms’ magazine cost and the whole gun costs half as much. I enjoy it a lot!
As always nice review of the gun. The Air-arms rifles are very good. I have smahed bottles at 200m few years ago with my AAs410 xtra Fac in .22 and at that time this gun was unregulated,so very stable shots but only beween regular preasure/around 170-120Bar/. For distance at 50meters air-arms rifles does not need regulator, they are GREAT ! Regards Matt !

These are made about 8 miles from my house. I've one of these in 12ft being in the UK. You should have popped in for a cup of tea!

Dang, 5 years later and nothings changed.
At last someone who can do a decent review. Top man
Wow talk about nice and early in the morning, but it is never a bad time to watch your videos.
Thanks for the review Matt....I just ordered one!!
Is it better to have an FX or a cricket rifle for you and the difference between them in strength, accuracy, performance and a few faults
Another great video Matt. Thanks for the details. I'm currently researching PCP air rifles for purchase and l'm quite intrigued by the TDR FAC.
Certainly well made: I've had my s410 for over 10 years! Replaced the silencer with a Weihrauch though.
Good honest review Matt. I would like to see how the tdr performs with a regulator and adjusted slightly down from 30 fpe to about 18 - 20 fpe. It should cure the string issue making for a nice flat string but I wonder what the shot count would look like.

Hallo Cas, mag ik vragen waar jij de TDR gekocht hebt? En zou je deze afraden vanwege de problemen die jij hebt ervaren?

Thanks guys i will give them a call

I don't think it would make a noticeable difference over 5 shots.
It's my understanding that here in Th US if a surpressor is integrated into the barrel so that it can't be removed it's no problem. Otherwise to have one is a pain. It's dumb.
+223rocks It's a bummer...And I suppose there would be little point fixing it to the barrel because it wouldn't fit into the case anymore.
Yeah I really wanted a q-Tec silencer but couldn't get it because of our laws...
Silencers are very common here in uk
Its a new gun as well mate....needs leading in😊
Great review matt, ,
i was looking for a rifle, and because of your review i'll get this gun. thanks mate!
what do you think is better lead pellets or pba pellets from gamo? please write back and keep the good work up!
Definitely lead. PBA pellets are a gimmick, they carry very little energy and fly too fast to remain stable
Definitely lead! Gamo pellets are quite possibly the worst pellets on the planet
How do I put the power up on my s410 tdr
I would love u to do a review of the bsa super 10 mk 1. But probably will never happen as youve got better guns.
I'm planning to review a friend's BSA Sorpion soon
great review. keep up the good work.
Oh and love your vids by the way! Keep up the good work! 😊
is it a .22 or a .177

It may be awhile but it'll be worth it, it took me like 4 months to save for my air arms s510 and it was worth the time.
yes, it is a good one. He knows what's up.Q)😭 How do you stop a bad guy with a BB gun? A)here in America- with a GOOD guy with a BB gun!😨👻
Is there a way to "convert" my standard s410 tdr into a FAC version?
I bought it about a year ago when the FAC did not exist :(
Possibly, but you may need to drill out the transfer port which would require some expert help
Possibly, but you would need a new hammer spring and you'd need to drill out the transfer port
MrPeregrines ebay
which one would you propose to someone the sub 12ftlb or the FAC TDR?
Personally with this gun I'd go with the sub 12 pound version. With the size of this gun and air reservoir it only makes sense
only 240p?
Who cares? Not like you're paying for the video
i love watching your vids..channel worth watching sir..hello from philippines
you have to buy a very very expensive permit but if you want to it could be worth it
ok matt will you consider a fx wildcat .25 caliber a 100 yard rifle??

Many of the high power rifles can give you 120+ shots. It's just this one that is particularly bad in that department
Nice job matt, but regulate guns are the future and Air Arms really needs to step up. You have proven it yourself, you're 510 shot good unregulated, but shoots much better now that its regulated.
True, I wish I could regulate my s510...
