Thanks. Lots of info available in the Strava activity if you want to check that out. Yeah if you can find camping around Polebridge definitely go for it, you won't be disappointed. West Glacier to Polebridge: strava.app.link/asXMRprCbxb Polebridge to West glacier: strava.app.link/m3Bs6dxCbxb
is this entire route suitable for 30c road tires? the footage makes it look doable but curious if there are any more technical parts more suited for a gravel bike. thanks!
This specific route, no, unfortunately. The Inside North Fork Rd is actually quite chunky and my 2.2" gravel tires are well suited for it, but I know people have done it on 38mm with some tread. In the summer you can do the regular North Fork Rd on 30mm if the conditions are right and the surface is packed tightly. It's otherwise loose dirt with some sketchy spots at times where you hit really soft powdery stuff. Many people with road bikes and tires will stop at the end of Camas Rd where the pavement ends. I'm not going to say you can't do it, but I personally wouldn't try either option on my road bike. Both are truly gravel bike territory if you want to have a good time.
Nice report. Even music was OK. Would have liked to see map view and elevation changes. Polebridge looks like a great place to camp for a night.
