American Legion Post 176, Springfield, wins District 17 Title 11-6 Friday night at Waters Field, Vienna, VA, over Vienna Post 180. It was Post 176's first title since 2011. Evan Harrison pitched 7 innings and gave up 3 earned runs, striking out 8 on 122 pitches.
It was Harrison's second great pitching performance of the week following his 131 pitch, 3--1, complete game victory over Post 130 last Sunday. Scout Knotts hit his 9th homerun in 24 games to lead Post 176. The VA State tournament begins Tuesday in Winchester, VA.
