Biden administration 'ignoring US laws' on arms transfers to Israel: Ex-senior official

- Josh Paul resigned from a senior position at the US State Department back in October to protest the US position vis-à-vis Israel's war in Gaza. In an interview with FRANCE 24, he said he did so because of the scale and scope of the conflict. "It was clear (...) that this would be far beyond anything we had seen before," he declared. Paul also said that the Biden administration "is ignoring American laws that apply to arms transfers and to security assistance" and noted a "lack of appetite" at the State Department to address Israeli human rights violations.

There are good, honest people in government. Unfortunately, there are bad people also. So many laws have been broken.

On the one side, I have to applaude this man for his courage, on the other side: only the sane Americans seem to resign over this -> making the others stronger.
It maybe better to resign early, instead of having to face the shtstorm later. The issue is not that aid must not be given, or there aren't mechanism to ensure that crimes are not going to be committed, it is that the administration is flaunting those mechanisms.
If people do not need their jobs, there would be more resignation. I don't think he need money. Otherwise, he would stay to support his family.

The grounds for impeachment:
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. U.S. Const. art. II, § 4.
Plenty of Bribery! Ask Hunter. If Israel has bribed and/or blackmailed most or all of Congress and has thus become an "enemy" or "corrosive force to our democracy", then by giving aid to the "enemy" (remember the Liberty), we can add treason to the litany of crimes. Of course, by that standard, all of Congress would have to be impeached.

This is an odd situation. He quit his State Dept job immediately following the Oct 7 attack and then took a better paying job at a Saudi founded think tank now funded anonymously with (based on looking at the web site, go look at it DAWN) takes a consistently anti-Israel stance. And now he's called a "whistlebower" for state actions that were done publicly with public statements and documentation.
Not immediately - he published his resignation letter on Oct 18, and about three and a half months later, he joined DAWN, which was founded by Jamal Kashoggi, the Saudi dissident, who was dismembered by agents of his own government in his country's embassy in Turkey on Oct 2, 2018.
The organisation's own goals are described by itself as follows: 'DAWN, founded in 2018 by Jamal Khashoggi, is a nonprofit organization that promotes democracy, the rule of law, and human rights for all the peoples of the Middle East and North Africa and advocates for U.S. policies that align with these goals.'
