You all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Rhys Lawrence thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Love the video we need more young men like you. You and your family have a lovely farm and don't let anyone tell you any different. Really enjoyed that video
Ideally that's the way all dairy farms should be circa 40-50 cow farms, well ran, well kept and environmentally friendly, animal friendly and great communal spirit. Very different to the stark awful industrial greedy farms who do not care about anything or anyone. Well done and long may you last.
I ran a 60 cow dairy 20 years ago. Well kept and clean. Milk prices were higher then than today. But fortunately I have a good job and will have a 4 cow dairy soon. Compost bedded pack with a 1 cow parlor with automation.
@@buildingwithtrees2258 Used to run a 30 cow dairy farm. Was a great lifestyle with little environmental impact and easy to manage and supply a high quality raw product. Low milk price whilst inputs going up killed me off in the end. I reckon the small farm will come back. I've worked on 800 cow farms. It's absolute slavery for man and animal.
Lovely video, and it’s nice to see a family farm. It’s going to take me a lot more videos to understand your wonderful accent however. It’s just wonderful.thanks for posting.👍
I love this! Great job. One of my favorite jobs was on a dairy farm in New Hampshire, USA. We were milking 250. I love the simplicity of your setup. Also, Ireland is my favorite country to visit. I hope you realize how blessed you are to work on such a lovely and peacefull farm.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Haven’t had the radio in the milking parlour in years. I might crack it again and see if it will improve the temperament of this year’s heifers!
@@creaghfarm3495 more than welcome. Love your vids As a fellow farmer, may I make a suggestion re your milking video. A couple years ago, I had a recently calved cow that was down .after a few days, she got up but had developed a real nasty type of mastitis called staph aureus It's subclinical ( no clots) but scc goes through the roof . However,it's v contagious and unknownst to me,she spread it to about 20% of my herd before my scc results shot up. It's not curable so in effect,I lost about 20% of my herd over a fortnight . I know a lot of farmers don't dip clusters from cow2cow but I really think it's critical to stop a subclinical cow mastitis in its tracks In my experience, peracetic acid is best (brand name Serpent) though you can buy 40 gallon drum for about 200e. I tell every farmer this,as I experienced a horrible time + prob cost me 30k over the year. I'd hate to see anything calamitous happen to yet cows which could easily be avoided. Best of luck!!
We have a 10 unit ourselves here in Mayo, fast as lightening! Seen a neighbours 4 unit in operation and with 30 cows it was slow moving graft! So fair does to ye milking 30 cows with the 3 unit! Nice clean operation ye are running there too.
New subscriber. I worked on a small dairy farm. The boss done all the milking. He never had a radio but his brother always did. Funny that and wonder if it does make a difference. Best of luck in future 💪
We’ve a radio going 24 hours, we find if you run incalf heifers through when the radio is on it’s not as much of a surprise when they get milked after they calve
I see you have a Micra in the background. Im a big fan of the Micra's I've 4 myself lol. Im going using one as a quad as well but I might get some Mud tyres or something on it.
I relief milk in a 44 unit GEA herringbone parlour. He has no radio becasue he thinks that with such a big parlour you couldnt hear the other person milking with you down the parlour if something goes wrong. Smaller parlours would be grand but in that size its understandable
don't mind the Americans they are trying to dump their milk to a small canadian market and kill the prices set up by our marketing boards which enable farms milking 40 cows to survive what man can milk 100 to 300 cows himself he wil be all crippled up
I used to milk a 100 cows with a 6unit parlor had to use buckets for nuts best thing was upgrading to a 14unit with automatic feeders If you were to get a newer tractor a New Holland Ts90/100/110/115 Would be ideal for you I’d say We have 04 Ts100 with a quicke Q940 loader great yoke sum pocket rocket pulled a 2250gallan tanker and bale trailer with 11 bales up hill
Enjoyed your tour very much i have 2 same dorado tractors one with loader brilliant tractors and very reliable i sold a david brown 950 tractor to a man called martin meaney from wexford about 2 years ago greetings from west wales stay safe
Do you always put straw on cubicles? Just concrete here and put on straw this year to make more comfortable but cows pull it out and seems pointless then to me so stopped.
Don't forget to like and subscribe and comment if you milk cows whether you have a radio in the milking parlour or not
we have a red limousine bulls and they calf very easy
Radio is good for animals, they get calmner.

Sometimes it’s good to keep things simple like what you’re doing here, good video.

Great video , good on you mate . I hope you will keep the videos coming .
Could you not buy second hand rubber mats for the cubicles and bed them with sawdust to save on straw?
We’ve a radio going 24 hours, we find if you run incalf heifers through when the radio is on it’s not as much of a surprise when they get milked after they calve

Very different than many American Dairy’s! Thanks for sharing. Do you sell your milk into the commercial market?
Yeah we sell it to Glanbia

We have a radio, but its bad quality so we wired it to a speaker so we can hear it on the other side and so can the cows
classical music gives bigger milk yields
Mozart been the best. Read about it years ago. Wouldn't use la finta, quite dull.
Great Content
Do you always put straw on cubicles? Just concrete here and put on straw this year to make more comfortable but cows pull it out and seems pointless then to me so stopped.
Yeah we always put straw in the cubicles we found it better on the cows
classical music increases milk production
