I was mauled by a dog and the owners tried to insist they'd never expected that to happen. Welp. It's called a pack mentality, and OF COURSE the dogs will not attack their own pack members.

@@fatimahsaamah9859 I forced them to get rid of all three dogs that were in the pack that attacked me. It wasn't just one attack. Those three dogs relentlessly worked to escape and go furiously after me. One night, I had to run and leap inside a van I owned and I just barely managed to avoid getting bitten. One legal threat and demand for the dogs to be adopted to someone else cured the issue.
The dogs hated me because I owned a dog and was not in their family, I had a GSD and this was a pit bull terrier. The owners were typically dumb people that kept their dogs outside no matter what. Temps down to nine degrees? Those dogs were outside.
Nobody ever took my complaint seriously until I was ready to sue.
Even my husband was attacked and mauled. He had to have his face reconstructed at the hospital.
We're the type of neighbors who will tolerate a lot of abuse unless it's SWATting. That's the ~one~ thing that will get me instantly coming after someone in the courts.

My first week delivering for Amazon Flex I got bit by a dog. 7+ years working with dogs at clinics and shelters and not once got bit. Then days into delivering had a dog dart out a door and catch me in the leg.

I got chased by 2 great pyrenees on a farm during a food delivery. I was lucky, I had my suspicions, so I left my car door open. Scared the 💩 out of me. lol

That’s a Black Bear (They come in like 5 colors so I don’t know why they’re still called Black Bears😂 Also, why did I say “they come in 5 colors” like they’re t-shirts 😩) Anyway, they’re significantly smaller than Grizzly Bears, even large males. Grizzlies have humps on their upper back and that’s an easy way to tell them apart from a large brown Black Bear. They’re also pretty docile. The main times they’re aggressive is when they’re a mother with cubs, young males during mating season or injured and cornered. They easy to scare off- like those videos of them running away from Chihuahuas. lol. If it was a Grizzly the delivery driver running away could’ve escalated the situation because Grizzlies will chase. If you already know this I’m that obnoxious RUclips commenter we all hate but I love bears so I get excited.

I have a black amd white cat called Luna who does the same thing. You may approach our property during daylight hours only. If it's winter or a bit late she will growl like a dog if someone knocks on the door and if she gets to the window there's a lot of banging of paws and swearing to be had. She does it at other animals too, even the hedgehogs get told off. First time she did it she scared the crap out of me, I thought somebody was breaking in!

@@enibeni2071Not really. This isn't common cat behavior at all. They are territorial but the second a stranger human comes into the house, they usually hide. And the ones who are used to strangers just hang around and don't care. It's really hard to see guard dog behavior towards humans in cats.

Been a driver for a few years. That happened to me. Little cat i called Muffin (tried to eat my muffin) would climb in the van every time and rub all over me or try to stow away. Wouldnt be satisfied till I put her on my shoulder while i delivered the package.

I heard my roomate come in, move some things and open the fridge and when I heard obnoxious sniffing and smelt something foul, I turned around and a bear was just sitting there going through the fridge and eating! Lol I screamed, we both scared the heck out of each other and then he ran off w my bottle of ranch!😂
@BEAUTYnIQ black bears practically never eat humans. Even attacks are rare, and are really only in defense. They see us as a potential threat, not dinner. They're primarily vegetarian and eat insects and other various small animals but most have no interest in humans unless they're carrying food or are a threat, particularly to their cubs.

I've learned through work that when people say that, they're often lying.
...and isn't always true. My friend's daughter was bitten on the face by another family's dog - the dog got out of the room it was in, ran up to her, and just bit her on the face. This was after my friend asked them to put the dog away because it seemed aggressive, and they said, "Oh he won't bite, he's just curious."

I'm so sorry for all these people and you as well that you have to work so unsave. I was doing mail delivery for a while and luckily around here you have to have a fence when you have dogs running around but still, some of those dogs were super aggressive and the mailbox was inside the fence, making me have to reach in. Super dangerous.

I was blowing down a condo development recently where there was no fence between the end of the development and the house next door. Around the corner comes a big ole German Sheppard headed straight at me. I thought I was toast for sure. I played it off like I was being playful. "What are you doing" in a playful voice. Thank God the damn thing reacted friendly. Scared the hell out of me. 😬

I was in west Virginia once for a funeral and I went to get pizza at this shop and there was a pitbull just sitting in the driveway. I thought it was the shop dog so I started petting it and playing with it.
It wasn't until the dog almost bite a child who ran up on it did I find out that, that dog was domesticated and that it was a wild dog. Apparently that was supposed to be feral but, it loved me. If my dog actually got along with females I would've brought her home.
Not for me. It gave me a heart attack and aggravated me because dude didn't go straight for the collar. When they get out they dont come back.

ONCE my sister forgot her keys and jumped over the fence, husky was around the corner and heard her only just as she landed. Sister said she was scared to hell, when the husky came running growling and fetching his teeth. Only after he recognized her he stopped and started whining.
They are really friendly uasally, but God have mercy on the people trying to break in when you are not around, because your husky won't

I allways expect a bad thing if it comes to situations like this. The dog may act out of fear or whatever you can not predict. Its never the dogs fault! Yet still they can harm someone out of fear or teritorial behavior.

Sadly, that dog did go on to bite someone badly and attacked, and almost killed a beloved senior Australian Shepard in our neighborhood. after a complaint, the state required the dog to be euthanized.

I was an amazon delivery driver in rural Texas for 6 months and was bitten on the leg two separate times by dogs (thankfully little ones) if you have deliveries coming please secure your animals!

Looks like you now just have to pick up your delivery at the post office or fulfillment center 🤷🏻♀️ idgaf how big or small it is, or about how it might just be running up for attention, or what the owner says about not biting. If the package hasn't already been set on porch or put in the mailbox and I'm halfway down the sidewalk with it? too bad. Turn around and go directly back to the truck. Delivery canceled, guess we'll try again tomorrow if your animals under control.
i ADORE dogs. I wish I could pet every dog I see all the time, and I love going over to people's houses I've dogs because I get to play with them. but delivery drivers don't deserve to have to deal with the looming threat of a dog bite over and over on a daily basis, all these videos showing dogs running up to delivery drivers and getting parts and love are really fun and cute and all, but it's perpetuating the idea that it's totally cool just to leave your animal free to run up on someone delivering your mail if you know it's friendly. And maybe the one driver for one company that delivers to you also knows it's friendly! doesny matter. another driver might not. Strangers have no idea your dog big baby, they just know it's a big risk to assume that.
I wouldn't blame driver for erring on the side of caution and immediately peacing out without delivering the package that day.... rude, irresponsible pet owners need to learn.

@@ANPC-pi9vu It's something that can happen - some dogs are very slippery when it comes to breaking free to go after someone. But I do think pet owners need to take more responsibility and be more mindful of the fact not everybody loves their fur baby as much as they do.

I’m a veterinarian and I don’t either. My favorites are people who say nothing until the pet has tried to nail someone and then go “I thought he would do that”. Thanks to great assistants I’ve never been seriously nailed by a small animal in over 30 years although a horse did remove half of one of my nails and lacerated the end of my finger.
I'm a postman and have been bitten whilst actively being told that. I get bitten most years, children swinging the front door wide open is the most frequent culprit. Just because your dog doesn't bite the family doesn't mean they respond the same to a perceived threat that they see daily. I wish more people understood this, it'd save me an injury here and there.
