Moment i caught on to 10-11 frame moves along with red combos he and others start btching i was bad as a khalt for using it againt a guy spamming spinning kick and chaining powers. I had to legit beat a series of idiots on his fanclub for them to stfu recording vids even of me dealing with laggers and people just spamming or playing toxic asf. Game is dead too many idiots. Here's a FACT about Bolver.... nobody can escape it's grasp. You'll say "I'll never play the game again" then you'll uninstall the game, but it doesn't matter. Sooner or latter you'll be back .
I think I speak for everyone when I say that I want a full on Absolver sequel, this time with a larger world and more fleshed out story. Everything was great from level design, to lore, to level progression and skill curve. Let's get Absolver 2!
Not really a sequel, but the game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is in a similar gameplay vein to Absolver. Perhaps not as complex, but still a fun time. And it's MORE than you got covered in terms of having a large world and quite fleshed out story. In part thanks to being a prequel to the Zeno Clash series.

I was really passionate about absolver some years back, I absolute loved this game but with it's slow downfall I started moving on to other titles . I saw your channel one day when the algorythm decided to put you on my fyp page and I thought it would be fun to see how the game was doing . I popped back into the game last week to see what I can remember (unfortunately it was not that much ) I'm seriously considering getting back into it though!
in more than three decades alive, i have never spent seven thousand plus hours with any video game until absolver; and i have never spent more time wishing I could go back in time, to play seven thousand more, from day one, to now all over.

I played Absolver on pc for a few months a year or so ago and loved it but kind of forgot about it and left. Very recently I have redownloaded it on PS5 and again I love this game. The absolute best part is the community. As a low level player I rarely find other low level players in 1v1 matchmaking. The opponents I face are far more experienced, skilled and knowledgeable and i get destroyed. But the whole match they are rooting for me to win but never letting me have it easy. They always respond via emotes to my performance and act so proud when I win a round it's amazing like they're training me!
I'm just now seeing this video as well as your channel....thank you so much man. Absolver got me through a lot of tough times and I absolutely loved it with all of my heart. Now that I know there is a actual dedicated server and people that play I'm 100% getting this on PC and getting Absolver+. Hope to see you in Adal Morkly!
I love this game. Im not the most competitive person on it but I enjoy the world and just going around punching things. I'm trying to master the drunk style. May not be the best but i love that style. Great video man.
Remember looking this game up a few years ago but ended up forgetting about it. Now it's on a 90% sale on Xbox so I had to get it. Now I understand why it sparked my interest cause I havent had this much fun playing a game in years and I've barely played any of it. The game needs more attention from people, it's incredible
I have played absolver for 4 years on Xbox. Small community, likely smaller than PC, but I'm considering moving to pc after viewing this video. I just don't want to lose my progress. I've learned all the moves with the exception of two sword moves. But in the meantime I think I might try it out on pc.

I just recently got it on ps5 and coming from the souls series and having put thousands of hours into PvP, I’ve been looking for a new unique PvP game and though I wish I had a pc set up for the reasons in your video, I’m still excited to see what this game is all about and finally figure out what the Mighty Calbot is..
I got this game some years ago on ps4 through ps+ played it around 10 hours or so and just recently bought the game and the dlc for around 5 bucks just got back into playing it again great fighting game. Nice video very inspirational keep it up with the awesome content you've earned my sub.
This year I tried another game with very interesting and fun combat mechanics and the first thing on my head was "this scratches my absolver itch a little bit". At this point I'm sure that I have cronic absolver itch condition, but I'm glad to see many more infected with it

I used to play it a lot in my free time on PS4 (before the pve update where u had to fight a boss in like a mine area), I haven't played it since I switched to PC but Im really considering getting it again just because it scratches an itch no other game has been able to satisfy (i havent played sifu). I really hope SloClap brings it back, either with a sequel or huge update, I strongly believe it will do better if given another chance :D
I agree! It probably won't receive an update but SIFU is definitely still a fun experience if you haven't played it! Hoping for some other successor to absolver in the future, for sure :)

This game has an amazing design for a fighting game :7 Been playing on Steam Deck but it doesn't support online sadly (even though Valve enabled support for EAC)
i still hop on this game every once in a while, i’m absolute garbage at PvP no matter who i fight and i only play that part of the game to qualify for school challenges but i have so much fun with the pve that i’m usually motivated at least a few times a month to hop on to get the 5 levels for a rift disc

Wanted to play this game since it was announced. Got it 7 years later on last week's sale since my brother got an Xbox now. And completely love it, love it so much I've melted the vanilla experience and need the Plus experience. But have no PC to run absolver and join you lovely people. So will have to settle for the xbox experience 😢
Honestly Absolver will forever be in my heart. I played lots of games like a LOT and this is the game i had the most fun in pvp and i really feel like the fighting system here is the best ever. Shame devs don’t give Absolver the love it deserves, but to be objective the game has some “niche” things in it and maybe that is why it’s not that popular. Tho prime days when it was free in PS store… what a time!

Active development on this game has been halted for several years. Unfortunately the staff was pretty quickly identified as impossible from an animation standpoint: there were simply too many animation exceptions that would make animating barehands moves with a staff in hand take more time than SLCP could afford. Hopefully there's some successor in the works :)
just played my first pvp on this game today after picking it up 2 days ago, tons of fun. just wish repeated bossfights werent capped behind CT level since im yet to be able to find a game at all in there
I do think that that's a flaw of the game, for sure. I'm not sure if you can gain CT levels in Private CTs, but it's possible? I feel like I should know this by now. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

i was looking forward to partecipate on Jade Festivals but discovering that Absolver+ is mandatory was a huge drop off. They basically castred all my favourite style Stagger, Faejin and Windfall and buffing those ones that i despite so much like Khalt and Forsaken. They complain about the brainded string generate by avoid/parry moves but they incouraging the brainded spamming absorb damage.
Stagger is still, arguably the strongest class in Absolver plus. Instead of giving it a confirm of damage after successful ability, that damage is "built in" to the ability. Forsaken might be able to get a slightly better confirm in plus than in vanilla, but forsaken is still cursed by the parry bug. Sometimes forsaken just doesn't work. No other class has a problem where the fundamental mechanic of it just "doesn't work". Kahlt is the only class that doesn't get confirmed damage after absorbing. Every other class can use their defensive ability to negate damage (and confirm damage of their own), but kahlt has to keep gambling to stay alive. Kahlt got a buff but it's still widely considered the weakest class because of how its health mechanics actually work. Windfall is actually COMPLETELY unchanged from vanilla. Windfall was not "castrated". Faejin only added 1f of delay on a whiffed parry. It is still (imo) absurdly strong in the right hands. It's okay to not like Absolver+! It's just the way that tournament players want to play, and its entirely possible to run a vanilla tournament, but people aren't terribly interested in vanilla for the tournament setting anymore.
I love absolver, but my current computer can't run it... Can't wait to get back to it tho, didn't know about the academy discord, will deffo check it out!
When I first noticed Absolver in my Steam library (FUCK if I know how it got there, must be the damn gnomes or something) it immediately intrigued me. You're tellin me, that I not only get to knock the daylights outta motherfuckers, but explore the Dark Souls-like world building, run through painting like environments, AND participate in martial pvp with a deck of my own making? Well sign me the fuck up. And it was fun, ball bustingly hard cus I didn't know what I was doing, but fun. But I found grinding out moves to be tedious, as well as deck building to be a bit of a guessing game, and inevitably, after just a few delves of the Downfall dungeons, I bounced off of the game and uninstalled. Then I played Raw Metal, and fell in love with it's deliciously vicious hand-to-hand combat, soon finding myself hungry for more after the demo was over. And delving through my library, I once again found Absolver. I had the same problems as last time, only without the patience to push through them this time. But watching this video (and remembering that Absolver+ even exists)... Maybe I'll give it a try again. Perhaps someone in the discord could help me with acquiring moves?
Can very much recommend Clash: Artifacts of Chaos for a gameplay style not unlike Absolver's, as well as for some of the points that interest you, spare for the PvP aspect. Really striking prehistoric alien world with nary a human in sight-- it's mainly inhabited by freaks and monsters, from obese mushroom turkeys to what looks like a teal-colored mangled feline lady abomination with a third arm growing out of her right elbow. And also a platybelodon man (some kind of prehistoric elephant ancestor), a pitiful bird man who sounds like an insecure teenage Yoda, some kind of weird yellow wrinkly frog in a barrel that sometimes pulls out a frying pan to slap you with, and more. It's fairly tough, with a light Souls-element by way of checkpoints being bonfires and the only healing being from potions as well as finding shortcuts back to earlier points. But there's no grinding to speak of. Instead, you find new combat Stances and Special Attacks by exploring and accepting a combat challenge of a Totem. It's not "defeat X amount of enemies", but just a one-on-one fight with either a creature that practices the Stance in question, or against an enemy that the Special Attack would be effective against. Hope this comment made you interested in Clash: AoC and that you may enjoy it and spread the word on it, and here's to hoping Raw Metal will be a good time as well!

I never knew this existed until like 5 minutes ago when I decided to look at the devs ludography. Sifu is one of my favorite games of all time easily. It's weird because it's not even an RPG and I am a hardcore RPG fan. That game quickly reminded me of Urban Reign on ps2 good times. Sad to say that Absolver might not be up to snuff. I don't like online games.(assuming that's all it have)

One day the devs will come back to this game. I play xbox series atm then hopping to ps5. Xbox rarely see anyone. I wish they'd put more windfall type moves in game.

On PC or PS4 yes, but only if you're interested in PvP on average! You'll have your best matches asking people to play because matchmaking is a bit of a shit chute, but the Absolver Academy discord is a great place to learn and grow! If you're just into PvE it doesn't really matter as much. but you can get incredibly good in as short a time as a month with the right setup and coaching!
Excuse the armored core brainrot, but Absolver has been the game that has been giving me the similar itch to it. So I've come to love the game for what it is. Except, instead of addicting movement, and shooting. I'm beating up people. Should really comeback, but again, I've waited years for AC6, and I'm glued in tightly to it.
Listen, games with shmovement are my SHIT. Armored Core brainrot welcome tbh. For me it's one of those things where like, AC is very unique, and so too is absolver. Hard to find very many games similar to 'em. Play your goddamn heart out, Absolver will be around when you need a break 😘

it depends on what you find "fun"! It's very soulslike in that it doesn't tell you much. but combat is still fun. You can also squeeze more challenging gameplay out of absolver nightmare if you install absolver plus!
also is there a tutorial on absolver modding. id like to get back into modding and if we can make custom, even enemy types id really want to goof with that
I actually did a little video essay about the two! Basically I think they’re both great but they achieve different things. Sifu is more about breadth (fighting many people and it feels good) and absolver is depth (fighting one person in increasingly complex, history based situations) BUT GO OFF YEAHHHH

I played this game for the first time like 3 months ago and got spawned killed when you first go outside of the tutorial and don't know how to get rid of free roam players killing me all the time. I can't learn if I cant even go out and kill my lvl enemies if I get killed by better players getting off to killing new players off SPAWN.
You can turn off having other players in your instance with a menu option. Menu -> Social -> Switch from "encounters" to "invite" And then players don't spawn in your instance anymore! :)
This is a good use-case for the absolver academy (link in desc). there are some Xbox players that hang out in there and you can likely find a game that way!
I have over 700 hours into this game and enjoyed it allot, however i'm disappointed that it is so terrible in many aspects. If there's ever going to be an absolver 2 i wish for more flexible deck building and more mobility instead of slowly walking towards eachother.

I'm not sure if I had this on ps4 or was one of those Epic free games, shame I don't have it in steam, oh well.

Wanted to play this game since it was announced. Got it 7 years later on last week's sale since my brother got an Xbox now. And completely love it, love it so much I've melted the vanilla experience and need the Plus experience. But have no PC to run absolver and join you lovely people. So will have to settle for the xbox experience 😢
Honestly Absolver will forever be in my heart. I played lots of games like a LOT and this is the game i had the most fun in pvp and i really feel like the fighting system here is the best ever. Shame devs don’t give Absolver the love it deserves, but to be objective the game has some “niche” things in it and maybe that is why it’s not that popular. Tho prime days when it was free in PS store… what a time!

Active development on this game has been halted for several years. Unfortunately the staff was pretty quickly identified as impossible from an animation standpoint: there were simply too many animation exceptions that would make animating barehands moves with a staff in hand take more time than SLCP could afford.
Hopefully there's some successor in the works :)

I do think that that's a flaw of the game, for sure. I'm not sure if you can gain CT levels in Private CTs, but it's possible? I feel like I should know this by now. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

i was looking forward to partecipate on Jade Festivals but discovering that Absolver+ is mandatory was a huge drop off. They basically castred all my favourite style Stagger, Faejin and Windfall and buffing those ones that i despite so much like Khalt and Forsaken. They complain about the brainded string generate by avoid/parry moves but they incouraging the brainded spamming absorb damage.
Stagger is still, arguably the strongest class in Absolver plus. Instead of giving it a confirm of damage after successful ability, that damage is "built in" to the ability.
Forsaken might be able to get a slightly better confirm in plus than in vanilla, but forsaken is still cursed by the parry bug. Sometimes forsaken just doesn't work. No other class has a problem where the fundamental mechanic of it just "doesn't work".
Kahlt is the only class that doesn't get confirmed damage after absorbing. Every other class can use their defensive ability to negate damage (and confirm damage of their own), but kahlt has to keep gambling to stay alive. Kahlt got a buff but it's still widely considered the weakest class because of how its health mechanics actually work.
Windfall is actually COMPLETELY unchanged from vanilla. Windfall was not "castrated".
Faejin only added 1f of delay on a whiffed parry. It is still (imo) absurdly strong in the right hands.
It's okay to not like Absolver+! It's just the way that tournament players want to play, and its entirely possible to run a vanilla tournament, but people aren't terribly interested in vanilla for the tournament setting anymore.
I love absolver, but my current computer can't run it... Can't wait to get back to it tho, didn't know about the academy discord, will deffo check it out!

When I first noticed Absolver in my Steam library (FUCK if I know how it got there, must be the damn gnomes or something) it immediately intrigued me. You're tellin me, that I not only get to knock the daylights outta motherfuckers, but explore the Dark Souls-like world building, run through painting like environments, AND participate in martial pvp with a deck of my own making? Well sign me the fuck up. And it was fun, ball bustingly hard cus I didn't know what I was doing, but fun. But I found grinding out moves to be tedious, as well as deck building to be a bit of a guessing game, and inevitably, after just a few delves of the Downfall dungeons, I bounced off of the game and uninstalled. Then I played Raw Metal, and fell in love with it's deliciously vicious hand-to-hand combat, soon finding myself hungry for more after the demo was over. And delving through my library, I once again found Absolver. I had the same problems as last time, only without the patience to push through them this time. But watching this video (and remembering that Absolver+ even exists)... Maybe I'll give it a try again. Perhaps someone in the discord could help me with acquiring moves?
Can very much recommend Clash: Artifacts of Chaos for a gameplay style not unlike Absolver's, as well as for some of the points that interest you, spare for the PvP aspect.
Really striking prehistoric alien world with nary a human in sight-- it's mainly inhabited by freaks and monsters, from obese mushroom turkeys to what looks like a teal-colored mangled feline lady abomination with a third arm growing out of her right elbow. And also a platybelodon man (some kind of prehistoric elephant ancestor), a pitiful bird man who sounds like an insecure teenage Yoda, some kind of weird yellow wrinkly frog in a barrel that sometimes pulls out a frying pan to slap you with, and more.
It's fairly tough, with a light Souls-element by way of checkpoints being bonfires and the only healing being from potions as well as finding shortcuts back to earlier points. But there's no grinding to speak of.
Instead, you find new combat Stances and Special Attacks by exploring and accepting a combat challenge of a Totem. It's not "defeat X amount of enemies", but just a one-on-one fight with either a creature that practices the Stance in question, or against an enemy that the Special Attack would be effective against.

I never knew this existed until like 5 minutes ago when I decided to look at the devs ludography. Sifu is one of my favorite games of all time easily. It's weird because it's not even an RPG and I am a hardcore RPG fan. That game quickly reminded me of Urban Reign on ps2 good times. Sad to say that Absolver might not be up to snuff. I don't like online games.(assuming that's all it have)

Unfortunately you're not gonna be able to migrate your save over, but Erfun solved this problem a while ago by providing a 100% save for people just coming to PC from other platforms who don't want the grind!

On PC or PS4 yes, but only if you're interested in PvP on average! You'll have your best matches asking people to play because matchmaking is a bit of a shit chute, but the Absolver Academy discord is a great place to learn and grow!
If you're just into PvE it doesn't really matter as much. but you can get incredibly good in as short a time as a month with the right setup and coaching!
Excuse the armored core brainrot, but Absolver has been the game that has been giving me the similar itch to it. So I've come to love the game for what it is. Except, instead of addicting movement, and shooting. I'm beating up people.
Should really comeback, but again, I've waited years for AC6, and I'm glued in tightly to it.
Listen, games with shmovement are my SHIT. Armored Core brainrot welcome tbh. For me it's one of those things where like, AC is very unique, and so too is absolver. Hard to find very many games similar to 'em.

it depends on what you find "fun"! It's very soulslike in that it doesn't tell you much. but combat is still fun. You can also squeeze more challenging gameplay out of absolver nightmare if you install absolver plus!
also is there a tutorial on absolver modding. id like to get back into modding and if we can make custom, even enemy types id really want to goof with that

I actually did a little video essay about the two! Basically I think they’re both great but they achieve different things. Sifu is more about breadth (fighting many people and it feels good) and absolver is depth (fighting one person in increasingly complex, history based situations) BUT GO OFF YEAHHHH
absolvers combat isnt based on premade combos that end up in a specific hit. its more tactile and you feel more of the hit each time.@@Morklympious

you can do something with mobs in Sifu, but you can't do it with players in Absolver. because Sifu doesn't have multiplayer.

I played this game for the first time like 3 months ago and got spawned killed when you first go outside of the tutorial and don't know how to get rid of free roam players killing me all the time. I can't learn if I cant even go out and kill my lvl enemies if I get killed by better players getting off to killing new players off SPAWN.
You can turn off having other players in your instance with a menu option.
Menu -> Social -> Switch from "encounters" to "invite"
And then players don't spawn in your instance anymore! :)

I have over 700 hours into this game and enjoyed it allot, however i'm disappointed that it is so terrible in many aspects.
If there's ever going to be an absolver 2 i wish for more flexible deck building and more mobility instead of slowly walking towards eachother.
I really liked the game, the only bad thing is that it was tok short. I liked the pve content but pvp wasnt a big focus for me.
Yeah, that’s a big shortfall of it. But the pvp is something a lot of people latched onto. Fortunately they really knocked pve outta the park with SIFU
I don't play it anymore because of controls getting some REAL BAD input lag, and with some weird input management by the game, I just can't play.
I mean, on PS4 it's deffo that way. On PC it's super responsive. but that's not the game's fault, that's the console itself.
