I use necks from razor clams for bait, seem to work well at Long Beach but depends on tide and finding a good honey hole. I'm headed out there this weekend, might hit up Beards Hollow while I'm out there and maybe fish off the jetty.

We have been trying to catch a surf perch for the last couple of days!! With no luck!! Great job!!
Thanks. Try fishing the incoming tide and if you don't get a bite within 10-20mins move around you'll find em. Good luck.

Use horse clams for bait if you can get them. Also where is this? Kalaloch beach 1 was the best spot for me 2 weeks ago
Nice. Sand shrimp works best for me so that's what I use. I fish the South Beaches. Been to Kalaloch once my last PB RedTail was caught there.

Same pole I use for surf perch. Seems a tiny bit soft sometimes though. Great video man!

Pick a spot and start there and like he said if you don’t get a bit move about 20 ft in ether direction till you find a school.

Is it legal to harvest sand shrimp? If so where can someone get them
Yes it is legal to harvest for bait. You can find them on the beach. Good luck 👍

Thank you :). Best time to target surf perch is on the incoming tide that's when the fish comes in to feed 2-3 hours after low tide is when the bite is really on 🔥 hopefully this helps you get em.

I've tried for two years to catch surfperch like this and you were the first to really help me out! Absolute fishing nirvana. Appreciate you and your channel so much man...

Did the state give any reason why you cannot use the other perfect natural bait, the sand crab? those good ones hit like a train!
Not that I'm aware of.. surf perch do love sand fleas.

You are not allowed to harvest sand crabs in Washington state so I would think you are not allowed to use em for bait?
@@Foodhunterpnw The Pacific Moe Crabs aka Sand Crabs are illegal to harvest here in Washington from what I've read up. Don't get much of them here anyways. I stick to what works for me and that's SandShrimp Surf Perch cannot resist lol
