there's so many flaws with the stitch count pricing.
    1. large satin collumns use more yards of thread per stitch, which adds up if you're using expensive thread
    2. it incentivizes poor digiziting because someone who likes to organize colors, hide jumps, minimize overlapping objects, etc will have to cut corners to please someone who wants to sell $6 patches. Additionally, you can use redundant underlay, overlap shapes, lower length limit to artificially boost the sellers percieved value while simultaneously pushing a bulletproof patch that the customer knows is exorbitant crap
    3. It doesn't account for special techniques such as applique or foam. You mean to tell me meticulous applique cutting in that tiny hoop that magnets keep yanking your scissors off course is worth like 10% as much as a fill stitch that happens when you're not in the room?
That's why I calculate materials used by quantity, yardage, hourly labor, and fees

Totally agree. Folks that use this method to calculate their prices usually lose money in the long run. It doesn't count in all the other things that are required like you mentioned.

One solution about blanks is renting a storage unit. Lots of people have Ebay stores purely out of a storage unit, with shelving set up and everything. Just make sure it's totally encapsulated. I've seen vids where people have crawled in front the ceiling and wiped them out

The issue thou with the renting of a storage is that you increased your cost of running the business. This cost will cut into your yearly profit. You can write it off on taxes but I believe it will still cost you. It is a way cheaper option thou. I'm going to do a check to see how much they are around my area. If the price isn't too high then yeah...it might work. I'm just so cheap.....:-)

@@BoricuaSewingCrafts yea it's not practical unless you have a business model that supports it. most those people immediately fill hte entire space, so their home was already like a warehouse beforehand. at that point the rent cost per item is lower

Love you Jeanette, & our Fri nights. I made you the hanging dish towels, & pot holders last Christmas. I've got a standing order from my Family every Christmas, with embroidery Bath towels. I make at least 70 or more hanging towels every years. lol Would you mind telling me the best place to purchase the dish towels? With as many as I make it does get expensive. Thanks for all that you do!!!!

I feel like $60 per hour is a hard push for me since most of my projects run at 400sps and I have only 1 machine. Right now I'm $20/hr +3x cost of materials. It would be an interesting topic to discuss ways you can improve your value to get to $60. "how to make $60 an hour doing home embroidery" for example

I have several videos on regarding this on the channel. There are lots of things to do. Here are some ways: lower the cost of supplies and improve how you process the orders. Remember pricing will be very different for everyone. There is no set way. Everyone has a different situation.
